Chapter 8 Time to train

At school, many students came to see their scores on the final exam.

The score announcement had been anticipated by the crowd of students. They were very hopeful that they had performed well and achieved good grades.

They looked at the scoreboard. There were those who were happy and those who were sad because of their score, but there were also those who were shocked by something.

They were shocked that someone in their school actually scored as high as those geniuses from other prestigious schools. Their school was not known for academic excellence.

They were just so-so at best. To think there was someone who could archive such impressive academic results was truly astonishing.

And it was Ichikawa Kyoutarou at that. He was the boy who was said to be a mediocre student in both academic and athletic abilities. How could someone like him score so exceptionally well on the test?

Many outstanding students who had dedicated their entire lives to studying were left dumbfounded and in awe of his achievement.

They heard that he gave it his all for the final exam. He might be a genius, but he just lacks motivation to apply himself consistently.

"Wow, you are really at the top, Kyo!"

Anna said it happily as she congratulated him. She wasn't bad, either. She got to the top hundred in the national rankings.

Chihiro was also there with her friends, and they couldn't help but look at Kyoutarou in a daze. They didn't know that he was so smart.

"You have tricked us all, Ichikawa! How can you let us down like this? You should have helped us study! And Anna, did you just call Ichikawa by his first name?"

Chihiro asked while observing her reactions. She was curious about their closeness since she could see them around each other lately.

Anna wasn't good at hiding things, so it was clear that she was caught off guard. She looked at Kyoutarou for help, which he did exceptionally well.

"Yes, she calls me by my first name since we have known each other for some time, so why not?"

Kyoutarou said it directly and smirked at Chihiro. In order to clear up the misunderstanding, he needed to be direct.

"No! I won't give Anna to you! She is my best friend, not yours!" 

Chihiro exclaimed. Her thought went from they might be dating to they might be best friends, as Kyoutarou didn't deny it or show that he was embarrassed. It could only mean that they became friends.

If they were dating, then she could accept it, but not her best friend!

"Now I know about my score. I will go back home right away."

Kyoutarou said to Anna and her friends. They wanted to go to the mall to play around and have a good time, but Kyoutarou just wanted to go home.

"Why are you all looking at me like that? I need to prepare myself for UA. I saw on the internet that the entrance exam was extremely difficult, and I want to make sure I am fully ready for the entrance exam. I only have about six months to prepare after all."

Chihiro heard that and nodded.

"Oh, that's right. You and Anna want to go to the UA. I understand. So what about you, Anna? Do you want to go with him to train?"

Chihiro asked Anna. She thought that Anna had to go through the entrance exam too. Anna didn't tell anyone except Kyoutarou that she got a recommendation letter from a hero.

"I will go with you all for today. I won't be able to meet you girls much from today onwards."

Anna said it with a hint of sadness in her voice. They would be in different schools, and it would be difficult to see each other regularly.

"And Kyo, can I go and train with you?"

Anna looked at Kyoutarou with hopeful eyes, hoping for a chance to spend more time together. 

She didn't need to take the entrance exam, but she wanted to be with him and support him in his training.

'I will cook delicious food for him!'

Anna didn't know that food wasn't his problem anymore, but it still moved him if he knew what she wanted to do for him.

"You can, but I have to tell you that my training would be so brutal. But you can quit half-way."

"Never!" 

Anna replied firmly.

Anna had more physical power than Kyoutarou. She might be able to do better than him in body training.

Kyoutarou shrugged and told her where he would be training. He would train on the beach that was full of junk. In that place, he could train both his body and his mind at the same time.

Anna nodded and began to plan what she should be doing with him. If the light was out, she could become his personal light bulb.

Her power would be useful to him in training at night. She could illuminate the place and ensure his safety.

And about the curfew her mother had set for her. 

If she said that she needed to train at night, her mother would understand and support her. 

As for her father, She knew he wouldn't interfere with or question her decision.
