Why I'm happy anyway?

It was early in the morning when I go to school to past my plate, I finish two plates last night that’s why I feel sleepy and exhausted right now. I started to do that anyway last week, I jut detailed it and add more design and I planned to avoid Merrow and the rest of my friends because I know that they well surely ask me like they’re paparazzi.

" I'm always impressed to your work Ms. Yap! Keep it up!" I smiled to my proof before I excuse myself. I haven’t eaten yet so I go to the cafeteria, my class will start at 7:30 am, I still have half of hour. I immediately finish my food, before I leave I look around to check if my friends are around the corner, even when I’m in the corridor of our department I look like a spy gazing everybody, it’s to early to have a question and answer with my friends so I need to be extra aware if they are near. I stand straight and immediately walk in to my room because the student look at me like I’m idiot. I seat to my chair and cover my face.

“Hey you!” I look away when Merrow seat beside me and smile to me wickedly. “ You can’t hide from me duh! We’re in the same course, same department, same building and same room stupid. By the way!Too early huh! HAHAHA I deal with you later.” I roll my eyes and close my books.

"Don't forget to pass your plate nextweek, late submission will have 50 points deduction, is that clear?!" we nod to our prof and he dismiss us, it was our last subject for the morning class. I was fixing my things when Merrow spoke behind me.

"Make it fast! You have something to tell us and don’t try to hide again!" She put here arm around my shoulder and pinch my cheeks.

"Stop it Merrow and stop acting like a kid.” She laugh and still pinching my cheeks, ignoring my words.”May maturity hit you" I slap her arms and get my bag.

"You know what Rayne! It’s okay that you go for lunch with Frank, we’re not mad if you told us that yesterday, it’s fine you know, have a date with someone you……. nevermind AHAHA.” I continue walking out to our room in ignore what’s Merrow trying to say. I order pizza and water when we arrive to the cafeteria, Merrow ordered lasagna and soda. I look around to find where’s Erl and Astra, I stop roaming when I spotted them with Lucas and his friends.

"What a nice day!" Erl smirked at me and look to Frank and the nlook back to me. I sighed heavily and roll my eyes,’here we go.’

"So how's your date with Rayne, Frank?" Lucas smiled playfully while looking at me and frank, I just rolled my eyes for the nth times then ignored him.

"don’t ask Lucas! You sound like a father you know?" I look at frank who is laughing right now, refusing to answer Lucas, it’s a relief you know b’cuz I don’t want to share it with them too. They will surely tease us.

"you should ask Rayne, Lucas!" Sed suddenly said that while chewing, we’re classmate when we are in junior highschool, he’s one of my friend, he is go with the flow man and a roll model because of his intelligence s and talent, the batch salutatorian while me is the Valedictorian, and when we’re in senior high we both achieve the highest honor, someone say that Sed and I are competitors but we’re not, I can’t see Sed as my competitor and I’m not threatened to him. He is an engineering student right now.

"It's not a date! It's just friendly lunch so stop teasing us! okay!" they stop eating and look at me like I say soething hilarious and laugh so loud. ‘whats funny?’

"she is mad now!" Merrow is still laughing,I look at Frank who’s now serious looking at me, I look away and eat my foods.

"i was asking ok? Chill!"I shake my head to their teasing words." hashtag unrequired love!" Astra added.

"Are you poor Frank and you just take Rayne to the street restaurant?” Lucas ask Frank with his teasing smile, Frank look at him and smile mischievous.

"Like what Rayne said! It's a simple lunch! If I will ask her for a date, it will be not comparable and make it memorable!" I choke by what Frank said. ‘like what the fuck’. Our friends stop laughing and at him. I reach my water bottle and immediately drink it.

"Wow! I can't find word!" Sed slowly clap his hands. " maybe under the table Sed! Look at it!" They were still clapping slowly. Frank looked at me so I look away again. ‘honestly, I don’t know what to do.’

"what the fuck Frank! myths will praise you haha!” Merrow shake her head while looking at Frank impress by what he said a while ago, I sighed heavily ‘It was so embarrassing’.

"yieee Rayne you look tomatoes! Look at your cheeks.!" I looked at Erl before I look to the other who is looking at me teasingly, I cover my face and feel more embarrass.

"fuck off!" I said sarcastically and raised my middle finger to them. They laughed at me and raised their middle finger too. I look to Frank when I heard his weak laugh.

"why are you laughing ?" I ask him and he suddenly stop .

"I’m not laughing! Who’s laughing?"he seat politely while stopping himself to laugh. I roll my eyes and finish my food,they stop teasing me and eat as well. We go to our afternoon class after our lunch.

“Ms. Dizon are you with us?” Merrow immediately sat straight to her chair when our prof called her, she was sleeping to our class, I didn’t wake her up and I ignore her purposely. I stop myself to laugh, I even bite my cheeks inside to relax my face.

“Yes sir!” I avoided Merrow gaze, I look everywhere because I can feel her deadly gaze, I pursed my lips to prevent myself to laugh. After our class she immediately grab my her.

"why you didn’t wake me, mother fucker !" she was so furious that’s why I can’t take my laugh anymore, I laugh so hard to the point that I was wiping my under eyes.

"It’s not my fault, you sleep peacefully so I didn’t bothered to wake you !" she roll her eyes and whispered something, I just shake my head and fix my things, She bid goodbye to me when we’re out of the building,I went to the locker room and change my things, I get my duffel bag and other sport things before I go the gym.

"Malbar double! Misuela don’t slap the ball too hard !" our coach shout to us. "Yap! Change your technique and strategy in court, I heard that SEU was observing you. "SEU is one of our strong opponent in volleyball, we need to double time understood?" coach added, it will be a bloody training again,

"Yes sir" coach Arnel nod his head, I sighed heavily and get back to my position. I slowly change my technique even my moves and jumping, I talk to my team for the changes of our play, I jump from behind before so I change it, I prepare myself to jump form the side . I secure the open space when we our playing and talk to my team to be more aware when we have a free ball, we practice the new offense and defense slowly, we manage to change everything, not that good as before but we have a lot of time to train and do more.

The game will start by October, next month is the start of basketball game, that’s why the training of basketball team is ahead form us and their training is more crucial than us.

"what’s with that face? " I asked Frank when I see him walking to the parking lot.

"I’m just tired!" he answered me, I can see his tiredness into his exhausted eyes, I don’t know why but I don’t want seeing him like this that’s why I put my arms around his nape.

"lets go eat! My treat." he was shocked by my sudden move, he bow a little because he was taller than me. "Oh! Where’s your car?”. I frowned and look at him.

"I’m too lazy to drive this morning! I asked Audrey to drove me here !” he answered me with a smile on his face.

"Alright! You drive then." He look at me in disbelief, I laugh to his reaction and tap his shoulder.

"Tsk! How many man ride your motor? !" I frowned and remove my arms around his nape and look at him confuse.

"You are the only one so far!”I get the helmet and give it to him, he suddenly smile and look so proud, ‘huh? Is he crazy?’. When he noticed that I was looking at him, he bite his lips and look away.

"Ahmm lets go!" he get in and start the engine, I smile because a while ago I tease him to drive cuz I thought he can’t drive, sounds like I lose this time.

"what’s your’s?" he asked me when we enter in one of the fast food restaurant.

“Ordered me yours too!" I look at him,’I don’t know what to eat’. I frowned because he look at me with a wide smile on his face, I touch my face if I have a dirt on it.

"why are you looking at me?" I asked him when he still staring on me, I’m not comfortable with his stare that’s why I hit his head " why are looking at me? You look stupid standing there."

"Nothing!" he answered, "You look pretty and I hate it myself amaze to you every time I look at you" I didn’t hear what he say so I shrug my shoulder and look for our table, a minute later he sit in front of me and place our orders.

"what’s your plan after graduation?" he suddenly asked me while we’re eating, I stop a bit and think what’s my plan after graduation. ‘am I ready for that? I don’t really know.’

"Taking board exam off course, if I’m lucky to pass it in one take, I have to work in my family company! CGC contact me too, they want me after graduation. Let’s see after grad, how about you?" I asked him too.

"I’m will go to the U.S after graduation!" he look away and sighed heavily. " I’m the eldest so it’s my responsibility to hold our company whether I like it or not!" I frowned and stare at him, maybe they are super rich cuz their company is in the U.S.

“ Good luck!" I tease him and he just laugh.

"honestly I don’t want to leave!" he push to smile but he can’t. ‘Is it the reason why he sad when I see him in the parking lot?’

"why? It’s good to live their, you must be thank full!" I answered him and smile.

“My life is in here Rayne!" he look at me. "My dream is in here! My happiness!, I want here, not in U.S" he seriously look at me, trying to say what he really want.

"It’s free to choose what the path you want to take, it’s your decision to make! Our feelings change Frank , sometimes we are happy and contended but sometimes it’s not. You should think it wisely so you will never regret it in the future. He smile to me and messed my hair.

"you sound like my mom!" He still smiling and look at me " that’s why I like you!" he whispered his last words, it didn’t bothered me so I continue eating my food, we drove home after we eat.

"Thank you for the ride!" he was smiling while removing his helmet and give it to me.

"Wow! Is this your house! It so elegant and big." I was so amaze while looking around their house.

"Tsk! You should go home, it’s getting late, he messed and hair so I punch him on his shoulder. "take care ! messsage me when you got home, okay?! he was serious that’s why I frowned and look at him.

Where in the same subdivision duh! I rolled my eyes because of his stupidity.

"Rayne" he called me so I look at him again.

"Oh" .

"Goodnight!" he smiled to me so I smile too.

"I’m have to go! Goodnight." I smile for the last time before I ride to my motor.

"take care! Now go!" I nod to him before I leave. ‘why I’m happy anyway?’
