Ch 48: I’ve got to go

"I just wanted—" "No." he put his finger on her lips to silence her, "Do not back out. I can't let you go, Abigail, don't ask me to. Not only that, we have to consider the fact that you may be pregnant after last night." His eyes darkened with desire, "I hope." He added. She felt a thrill go through her, "Really?" "More than I can say." He said with conviction, "A beautiful little girl that looks like you would be a Lord send."

Smiling she kissed his finger, "I wasn't going to protest and I would like a boy that looks like you." she wanted to tell him how much she loved him again. He must've seen it in her eyes for he pulled her mouth towards his and kissed her until she thought she was a pile of mush. "As much as I hate leaving you, I have an important meeting that I know I'm going to be late for."

Reluctantly she got off his lap and he stood up. "I'll try to be home earlier tonight. Then we'll discuss more of our future together. There are plans to be made." "Okay, Owen." He kissed her once more pushing her up against the table edge and sliding his hand down her backside. "Hell, I'd love to take you right here on this table."

"Oh lord." She muttered against his mouth. "I've got to go." He said reluctantly giving her another scorching, toe-curling kiss. "Sure you do." She smiled against his sensuous mouth. Groaning in disappointment, he reluctantly released her and was gone after a prolonged stare.

Leaving her aroused. Pushing herself away from the table she went back into the sitting room unable to shake the images of them together last night. Her hands rubbed down her flat stomach to her thighs and she kept thinking about how much she loved him.

She almost laughed out loud. These thoughts would consume her day if she didn't find something else to do that was distracting. Abigail took the time to phone her friend Molly and ask her to go over and check on the house. She wondered if Molly was upset with her over her engagement.

Molly was one of the ones that followed him around like a love-sick puppy when he came to the house to see Joseph, so she wasn't quite sure how well she'd taken the news.

Owen was right, she had a few things to decide about her future. There was the house for instance. Did she put it up for sale? Unfortunately, the thought made her sad. She and Joseph grew up in that house and it held memories for her.

However, when she returned to college next week, she would be able to afford the tuition for her last semester. She knew that Owen told her he would pay for it, but even if he were to be her future husband she couldn't bring herself to rely on him for everything...

Later when he came home, she would run the idea by him. She hung up the phone after an hour-long conversation then near jumped as it rang again. It was from Owen.
