Mercy stood in front of a mirror, debating whether to wear a white or yellow top. Her vibrating phone caught her attention.
"Hello? Hello?" Mercy waited for a response from the other side. No sounds were audible from the other line.
Knock knock*
Mercy flinched at the knock on her door. She sighed, placing her hand on her fast-beating heart.
"Are you going to take forever?" Her roommate, Aisha, asked. Aisha was a college student. They have been living together now for 1 year.
She put on her White off-shoulder shirt and sighed, closing her eyes.

Oliver sighed, wrapping the bandage around his bruised hand.
"Sir, This is scheduled for today!" Mercy gave him the details, which he barely listened to.
He pretended not to notice her Looking at his hand.
Before he could realise it, she was done, and her heels rang around the room as She went back to her seat that was in the Main office of Oliver.
'This is your first day, Mercy! Don't screw up!' She mumbled to herself before getting into her seat.
Soon, A stack of Papers was slapped in front of her.
"Type these Emails and send them out to the people mentioned." Oliver said this and pushed his hands back into his pocket, walking away.
Mercy had to bite her tongue to not protest about making her overwork.
'He said I should be thankful, that he is not holding any grudges. If he is not, why is he making me do this? Can't anyone else do this?' She mumbled to herself until her chair was moved around at completely in opposite direction.
Her eyes met Oliver, who bent down to her height by the support of the chair.
"I can hear that, Darling. Be careful of your words." Oliver whispered, and Mercy's eyes were shot open.
She didn't expect him to hear it.
He slapped another stack of paper on the table behind her.
"Print their copies and distribute them among others too. They should get notified about the meeting at 6. I don't want anyone to be late." Oliver said this with a sarcastic smile and winked at her.
He walked off from the Office as Mercy turned her chair back, hiding her face in her arms that were resting on the table.
She wished she had a way out of this. She sighed and got up. She had to get this all done by 6.
A few hours later.....
"Come in!" Oliver said, looking up from his files.
"It's time for a break. We are going-" Before she could complete her sentence, Oliver cut her words off.
"I will order; I have a lot of files and folios to go through." He said Looking back at his files.
"What about you, Mercy? Aren't you Hungry?" Mercy looked at her,
She tried remembering her name.
"Nat... Nat?-"
"Natalia!" The blue-eyed lady in her 40s laughed and corrected her. They met on the day of her interview.
"I have so much work to get over with today. I also don't think I can come. Thank you for asking Natalia." Natalia passed a pitiful smile to her and left while shutting the door.
Mercy looked at the work she had left.
She handed out the printed papers, but she was not done, not even with half of the emails.
She will surely need to work overnight.
Not long after, Mercy sighed frustratingly as she heard a knock on the door.
She looked at Oliver, who refused to look up from his files. He had his two upper buttons undone, revealing his muscular body. He surely had it. He was a martial arts champion.
His cuffs were folded up, revealing his forearms.
"If you are done staring, Get the order from the guy." Oliver said, causing heat to go up in Mercy's face.
She mentally slapped herself and walked to the door.
She grabbed the cups from the Guard's hands and shut the door with her back, not realising the small smile that crept up on Oliver's face watching her struggle with closing the door with her hands full.
She walked to his table, making sure to place it away from the laptop and files, and tiringly walked back to her chair, trying to keep her composure straight.
She threw herself off the work chair and sighed, resting her head on the stack of papers.
Her eyes were on the verge of shutting at this point. She had worked more than this on her previous jobs, but the mental pressure here was something else.
A thud against the table caused her to look up suddenly, and her Blackish brown eyes met Oliver's Light ones.
"I accidentally ordered two." Oliver said, pointing his hand at the cup of hot chocolate.
She smiled softly at him and mumbled a small "Thank you!"
He cleared his throat and peeked at her laptop.
"Meeting's in an hour." He said this, bringing his wrist up to look at his watch.
She waited for him to be out of the room and grabbed the cup, putting the straw in her mouth and sipping it.
She let out a relaxed sigh.
A possibility of Oliver still remembering How much she liked hot chocolate crossed her mind, but she shrugged it off.
'How would He remember it? He just ordered an extra Accidentally."

She sat in front of her laptop, waiting for Oliver to signal her to change the slide that was connected to the big screen.
Not many of them were here. Just a few workers were ordered.
She tried to understand what he was explaining about interviewing new individuals.
"That was all for today!" Oliver said Putting the papers back on the table
"Mercy? Have you completed the work?"
No, Sir, not yet."
"It's such a disappointment, since it's your first day." He cut her words off. Mercy looked down in guilt and embarrassment.
"Well, Since everyone did great, Let's go get dinner together." Oliver said, Everyone's face lit up, and some of them even cheered.
"Sir, I will stay here and complete the remaining work." Mercy said, getting some pitiful and some judgmental glares from everyone,
Oliver shrugged his shoulders.
"Sure!"
Oliver was back in the office. His eyes landed on the figure sleeping with her head laying on the table.
Sleeping like she didn't care about the papers she was crumbling underneath.
He pulled off his blazer, putting it on her sleeping figure.
It did cover her back and shoulders, and he saw that empty cup of Hot chocolate.
'It's funny how nothing has changed yet. Everything has changed."
To be continued...
