I feel myself come back to my body and I open my eyes. The first thing I see is a ceiling.
I am in a room that I don't recognize. I feel that I am in a bed and the room is dark, but I can see the lights filtering through the heavy curtains. I tilt my head sideways as I study my surroundings. The room is decorated in antique furniture, it's a bedroom. The above ceiling has intricate and I can't help but think that they are beautiful.
I look to my right side, still not moved an inch and I see Zane, lying next to me. I don't jump or do anything. He is not close, because the bed is so huge, it's one of those oak canopy beds. I look at him and I don't see him breathing.
I gingerly raise my hand to put it close to his nose, to feel if he is breathing. I don't make it even close to his face before his hand catches mine. He still doesn't open is eyes.
