chapter 12 ~basement

Alex pov

It's been a few weeks since hope is finally turned 17. We are now moving into the alpha House. Everything's a little crazy. Today I'm clearing out the basement which may be hard for me because that's where most of the pain and suffering happened. You are probably asking why I don't have the omega's go down there and clean it. Well the reason to that is because I don't want them to see what's down there.

That place is a horrid place it doesn't matter if you're high rank or low rank. I gather all my courage and go down to the basement to find the chains and the whips and all the weapons still on the table. I inhale and exhale trying to call myself down but it's no use. It just brings back bad awful memories.

~flashback~

Yesterday was my 13th birthday the only thing I got was a present from Ace and Isaac. Mom and dad still don't even acknowledge me unless I do something wrong or to beat me. I just really wanted a cookie so I went to the kitchen and got into the cookie jar that Isaac has showed me where it was where you would sneak me cookies every once in awhile.

That was a big mistake my father came and found me getting into the cookie jar he slammed the lid of the cookie jar back onto the jar even though my hand was still in there. What have I told you about getting into things you little rat! My father yells while grabbing me by the hair and pulling me down to the basement. I scream and fight not wanting to go down there.

Ace comes and tries to stop our father but my father just slaps him. He then grabs him by the arms and sits him on a chair while chaining him on it. Trying to save her as no use look what it's got you watching as I beat her. My father yells at Ace. I cower away from the noise.

My father goes to his normal table of torture weapons and grabs the whip laced with wolf bane. He then turns me around and starts whipping me I scream. Please stop I didn't know that I wasn't allowed cookies. I beg. Once he was done with the whip he went and grabbed a small dagger and dipped it in liquid silver.

You walked over to me and it was about to stab me with it when Ace started screaming. Stop you are an ungrateful alpha the moon goddess gave you more than one child there's been times she's only given an alpha one! Ace yelled at our father. This caused our father to put down the dagger and walk over to Ace and slap him and then punch him in the stomach.

No you're the ungrateful child I've let you live here. Yeah you and your sister do is disobey and be a nuisance like rats! My father yelled at Ace. He then walks back over to me and picks up a dagger and stabs me in the lake right under my knee cap. It burned and I can see a visual third degree burn forming. Stop please stop. I began but it's no use he just keeps stabbing me but this time in the arms.

He then goes back to the table full of weapons puts the dagger down and grabs an exacto knife. He walks over to me and starts graving words into my skin but not too deep where they would leave scars. You probably thinking why didn't he want scars. It's because he wants to marry me in Ace off to other high-ranking kids of other Alphas and his words is no higher rank once a garbage looking person as their mate.

I screamed in irony as the middle blade carves words like useless and rat and garbage and trash into my arms and legs. The pain started to get too much where I slowly lost consciousness. Last thing I heard was a yelling and breaking the chains. I feel someone pick me up and run before I completely knocked out.

I woke up in my bed. Ace and Isaac was sitting in chairs next to the bed looking at me worriedly. I looked down to my arms to see I have not completely healed. Tears start to form in my eyes as I tried to think of what I ever did to my father to be treated this way. Ace comes in consoles me. Isaac just looks at me with sadness and says one day that I would show them all that I'm better than them.

I don't know what to believe anymore. All I want to know is why the moon goddess did this to me my brothers.

I shake the bad memories out of my head. I clean up the basement getting rid of the weapons and chains and other things. Once I'm done getting all the weapons and everything I go upstairs and get bleach. I grab a sponge and start scrubbing the floors and walls to get rid of the blood. Blood that's been here for years luckily it was old blood and no New blood.

Once I was done scrubbing the floors and getting rid of every trace of blood from this places old life. I go and get the flooring and the new wallpaper and start getting to work to putting it up. The wallpaper was this nice flower print With gold outlines around the flowers. The flooring was a hardwood that's a deep Brown. Once I was done putting the wallpaper in the flooring down I went and got furniture.

I was planning on turning this into a bunk room for the omegas knowing some of them live with some of people that work with that treat them like crap. The basement was actually quite spacious it fit about five bunk beds against one of the walls. I then put dressers and a TV and some chairs and a nice carpet on the floor.

You're probably thinking I was probably mean for making the Omega sleep in the basement. That's not the case at all this is a place where they can hang out and take a nap if needed it's not their actual home. The Omega is usually like to have their own space to hang out where people won't find them. The basement is a place that soundproofed and no one will know the omegas are hanging out down here.

Is also a place for them to hide from their abusive owners. You see my dad that used to be the alpha this pack allowed slavery basically if you were a Omega you were sold to a normal pack member or a higher rank. The reason me and hope was never sold to be slaves was because we were his kids and he was all about public image. So him selling us his slaves would make him look bad and tell everybody that his perfect family was a lie.

Once I was done I got some decorations and finished decorating the basement I mean the Omega Hangout. You are also probably wondering why I'm not getting rid of slavery. Well I am it just takes time. So it's going to take a few months to stop it completely plus there's a lot of paperwork that needs to be filled out.

So the omegas are going to be a place to hang out while I am doing what needs to be done. Plus they can have this room after all the slavery and stuff is gone. You're probably wondering how does the omegas have kids. Well some of them happen to be their owners mates so they're mates bought them to free them.

While others found their mates in another Omega and has secretly been together and has somehow hid the child from their owner or the owner just didn't care. There is some owners that are actually nice and bought them just so they could have a free life. While others aren't.

Is everything was done I told all the omega's about it that was doing the housework around the alpha House. I went to my office. I then opened the passage to the secret hallway and went to the office where I was keeping the investigation I was doing that no one knows about.

A few weeks ago while I was trying to figure out what was going on with hope I discovered something. There was a picture of a woman with my dad that wasn't my mother. After reading the back I have found out it was his lover he had planned to leave my mom for. I figured out her name was Vanessa and that she had a child. I also found out that the child was abandoned because nor my father or Vanessa wanted.

I have been doing research and investigating the child find where it is. I also found in my dad's files and his secret office that the child was somehow half vampire half werewolf. Even though Vanessa and my dad were both werewolves. My dad and Vanessa also did a DNA test to make sure it was his child. It was his child which is another reason they abandoned it because they did not know how it got the vampire side.

It says that the child was a female. It also says that she could pass off as a human meaning she did not let off any supernatural scent. Making it easier for her to blend in with humans instead of being detected by other supernaturals.

He did follow after her to keep an eye on her. For some reason my father wanted to keep an eye on her to make sure she didn't cause trouble. All he put in his files was that her name started with l and he called her l. There's not even a picture of her. I hope I figure this out soon because for some reason I feel a connection to her even though I never met her.
