A Team Effort

Muscle soreness every-night. Boiled tasteless chicken and eggs with every meal, no desserts- not even the dark chocolate that I liked. A flat chest becoming even flatter with broadened shoulders, after all that goddamn exercise that dictator Xie made me do! And such intense stretching that made me shoot up from 5ft 3 to 5ft 6. Though I'm secretly thankful that I'm not such a shortie anymore. Hehe.

Also Liang the Snow White of huskies (with his beautiful white fur and blue eyes) is a lot better, he's still on the lighter side though you can no longer see his ribs and the military helped out too. I suppose that would make sense because not only did I go through a serious ass whooping, my dear brave knight also did.

I have a feeling I'm secretly enjoying this more than I should because Xiao Lou (I call her that because she's sweet and small) has been giving me strange looks. Probably because I've been looking at men's Chinese street style on Pinterest constantly, or internally swooning at Shoujo manga protagonists and lowkey being inspired by their hairstyles. I'm such a dork.

Though she's probably worried I'll be taken advantage of by the guys at the school, perhaps even fall in love? But what she doesn't know is that this Takumi X Haruhi teenage fan girl, is secretly a 30 year old woman inside. So wouldn't that make me a fucking pedophile? Also I think seeing my parents relationship fall apart like a house of cards... pretty much completely has denied me the idea of falling in love.

Like eh-No thanks, let's just no go there.

I was just way too busy trying to build the happiness, that should have belonged to me and my brother.

Anyway, let's not get too depressed here...

What was the most interesting throughout this month was to find out that Mr. Liu had paid for my admission, though that wasn't necessary it still hurt to think that the child who had such ambitions couldn't be believed.

An email was later on forwarded to me from Lawyer Shen, which was basically an online confirmation from the school prior to sending off my application of enrolment. This included a reiteration of my personal information and an online pre-registration exam.

It wasn't too difficult, though to be honest neither was the MSAT, though my 'brother' wasn't exactly genius material. So I had to dumb myself down to his level, leaving me with slightly above average scores.

Don't get me wrong, throughout my life I struggled with chinese reading and writing exams. As well as in the arts, particularly finding the sciences on the other hand very easy to grasp. Especially with my textbook like memory. So even though I scraped a fairly decent grade In those subjects and although I enjoyed them, it was somethings that could only improved as long as you practiced well enough. Only later on though, during my off period from work did I ever find myself slowly improving.

Especially when playing instruments like the Piano or Violin, which I found so surprising how much I ended up liking classical music. I guess it helped add sophistication to my resume, after all coming from such an elite school without a penny to her name.

What was the best thing about learning the Violin and Chinese calligraphy, was that it ended up further improving her surgical skills without having an awareness of it.

It was the day Zhu Hua was set to leave and watching his hands trembling, grandfather Xie watched as Xiao Liang made himself comfortable on one of the sofas. The large dog wagging his fluffy tail happily, as he scoffed internally at how reliable a dog could be in protecting his precious granddaughter from scummy teenage men.

Xiao Lou who had initially requested to quit as her son was venturing to university in the capital, he figured she'd just find a job there. But where could he find such loyal subordinates, since she was working before his wife had died. She might as well go with her and keep her safe.

'Although Xiao Zhu can be a little offensive, she's not stupid. I'm thankful for that.'

The sound of feet could be heard climbing down the stairs steadily, someone languidly approaching the living room. The hushed sounds of whisperings from the maids could be as Xiao Zhu or Xiao Zhi, a wicked smile on his face entered the room.

The young man was around 5ft 7, dressed in a black shirt and trousers. A knitted sweater hanging loosely over his small white hands. Standing up with a hand in his pocket the teenager, showing off his freshly trimmed cut exaggerating slid his hands through his hair. Streams of gold shone between the grey blonde hair, violet orbs burned brightly a hint of frivolousness in his eyes.

Whistling he lifted his chin to the sky, showing off his carved jawline. Her once adorable cheeks, without all of that extra fluff.

With a flirty whistle and a wriggle of his eyebrows he sat down his hair trailing over his eyes, arms spread out.

Muttering under his breath, arms crossed over chest. "Damn I be looking fiiine."

Coughing to break the awkwardness of Xiao Zhus strangely proud expression.

"When did I ever raise such a narcissistic grandd-grandson?." He said aloud.

With a laugh and Xiao Liangs head nestled on her lap, she appreciated how naturally low her voice was.

Maybe she'd be just fine, it's not like she had to be close to anyone. She just had to lay low and blend into the background. Simple right?

Her grandfather then handed her a black glasses case, a pair of black Prada glasses were inside with a weak prescription. Something similar to the prescriptions found in a pair of reading glasses you can buy on eBay or Baidu for cheap.

The glasses helped to hide the blatantly obvious eggplant purple colour n her eyes, which could be particularly seen in the light or up close in person.

Because they were a pair of chunky lenses, they helped to distort the colour and the shape of her eyes. Unlike her brother who inherited their mothers chocolate brown eyes and had an actual need for glasses but never wore them.

It made her wonder how he got into an accident in the first place...

Holding onto the leather strap of Liang's leash by the front door, she slipped on a pair of Orange low dunk Nikes. Feeling a little sad watching her grandfathers solemn expression. Patting her shoulder and ruffling her soft messy hair, he handed her a black wallet holding a debit card and a conspicuous envelope in the back.

Giving a look, she sighed and placed it into the pocket of her trousers.

"When you come back, you better not be pregnant or bring back girls with you. Or even worse you better not get those rich men infatuated with you." He mumbled. "Your two years younger than your brother, clearly your much smarter than him. So just don't take it too far, I don't want to have to hear any strange rumours or I'll pull you out of there!"

Trying not to laugh she bit her lip and pushed up the glasses on her nose bridge.

"En."

'Though I'm not going to lie, it would be funny/obscene if I had the power to do that. Let's just live quietly, I'm sure if they don't piss me off they'll be no need to play target practice. I can just be discrete about it. No shit.'

I found this chapter a little more amusing than the previous ones, but know what else? The fact that my bloody glasses broke today.
