David sat in his cramped apartment, feeling a rush of excitement as the system's chime indicated he'd reached his first milestone.

He opened the system interface to claim his reward, his curiosity piqued.

———————

SYSTEM REWARD

Congratulations! You have successfully gained 100 live viewers.

Reward: Tacitile Transcendental Photokinesis

———————

David's eyes widened as he read the details. The reward was Tacitile Transcendental Photokinesis, an advanced version of his existing quirk.

He quickly skimmed the description:

———————

Tacitile Transcendental Photokinesis: This ability allows you to leave illusions on objects for a duration determined by the energy expended.

You can now create illusions that persist even after you've moved away from the object beyond normal range directly proportional to the effort put in the creation of the illusion.

———————

David grinned, feeling a surge of satisfaction. "This is exactly what I needed. Time to up my game!"

He immediately set to work, eager to test out his new ability.

He set up a few objects around his room—a book, a coffee mug, and a lamp—and focused his energy.

As he willed the illusion to take shape, he watched in awe as the book began to glow with a shimmering pattern, while the coffee mug seemed to take on an ethereal aura without having him actively manipulate it.

"Whoa," he murmured, impressed by the effect. "This is incredible! Now I can really mess with people's minds and make my streams stand out."

He chuckled to himself, feeling a renewed sense of purpose.

The new ability meant he could create more immersive and engaging content.

He was ready to push his streaming career to new heights.

As he navigated back to the system interface, another notification popped up:

———————

NEW QUEST

Reach 1,000 viewers on stream and gain 100 subscribers.

———————

David's eyes lit up with determination. "Alright, 1,000 viewers and 100 subscribers. It's a big leap, but I've got this."

He took a deep breath, mentally preparing for the next phase of his streaming journey. "Let's get this show on the road. Time to put my new quirk to work and make sure everyone knows who I am."

With a mix of excitement and resolve, David set about planning his next stream.

---

David was enjoying a moment of relaxation, devouring a steaming plate of home-cooked pasta.

The rich, savory flavors were a comforting reminder of simpler times.

He had just settled down when his phone rang, disrupting his indulgent meal.

He glanced at the caller ID and saw it was his aunt, Kaede.

With a resigned sigh, he wiped his hands on a napkin and answered the call. "Hey, Aunt Kaede, what's up?"

Despite having an English name David in this life was actually half Japanese and only had relatives in japan as his father was an orphan.

Who moved to japan afyer falling in love with his mother.

Though both of them died together in a fire.

Not that he had the emotional connection to them but it still felt a bit disappointing.

Kaede's warm voice came through the phone, tinged with a mix of cheerfulness and something softer. "Hi, David! I hope I'm not catching you at a bad time. I just wanted to invite you to my birthday party this weekend."

"Wait are you sure you want so many people in your house at this time ?"

asked David knowing that she just got divorced by her cheating husband.

He half expected her to be depressed.

Kaede chuckled softly, her voice carrying a hint of sadness. "Yes, I am. It's just a small gathering to celebrate what's next. Since the kids are busy with their own lives, I'd really like to have you there. It's been too long since we've all gotten together, and it would mean a lot to me."

David nodded, even though Kaede couldn't see him.

"Of course, I'd love to come. It's been a while since I've seen you and the kids. I'll make sure to be there."

"Great!" Kaede said, her tone brightening. "I'm glad you can make it. It'll be nice to have some company. Plus, it's been a while since you've had a home-cooked meal with us. The kids would love to see you too."

David smiled, feeling a warmth in his chest despite the busy schedule ahead. "I'm looking forward to it. I'll see you this weekend."

As the call ended, David looked down at his plate, now slightly less appetizing after the reminder of the upcoming family gathering.

He never liked them.

Though he liked Aunt Kaede or at least his body liked her, infact she was his first "crush".

Though that was just the old David not him.

Still, he felt a tinge of comfort knowing he'd have some time to reconnect with his Aunt and take a break.

He glanced at his laptop, the streaming setup still open, and then back at the remnants of his pasta.

And decided to enjoy the pasta without much concerns.

---

David adjusted his phone's camera, making sure the view was tight on his face and the inside of the train.

The setting was a stark contrast to the dimly lit apartment from his last stream.

This time, the soft hum of the train's engine and the occasional chatter of passengers in the background filled the atmosphere.

As always, he made sure nothing in the stream would give away his exact location.

He sighed before leaning back in his seat and addressing the stream chat.

"Hey guys... yeah, I know this is probably not what you expected. I've, uh, left my apartment for now. Things got a little weird, as you might have guessed from the last stream."

The live chat started buzzing, questions flooding in.

> ChatUser1: "What happened in the apartment??"

> GhostHunter9000: "Bro, tell us the truth. Was that a ghost or a stalker??"

> ToeSucker: "Did you get hurt? You ok?"

> KarenFromHR: "You're looking kinda pale, David."

David glanced down at the chat, nodding slightly before speaking again.

"So, after that whole thing went down, I ended up fainting in the bathroom. Yeah, I know—real dramatic, right? My friends found me and woke me up. I don't even remember passing out, but when I came to, I felt this weird pain in my side."

He shifted in his seat, his face growing a bit more serious as he hesitated. "I wasn't sure if I wanted to show this, but... I think you guys should know I didn't leave the apartment unscathed."

The chat erupted again.

> HotSauce4Life: "Dude, don't tell me something attacked you?"

> MysteryWatcher: "WTF show it!!"

> AnonKid: "Not this again…"

> CreepKing: "Did you cut yourself for the views?"

David shook his head, a grim smile forming as he lifted his shirt slightly. There, on his side, was a massive claw mark, stretching across his ribs, red and raw. "This is what I woke up with. I don't know how it got there... but it's real, and it hurts like hell."

The camera zoomed in on the mark for a moment before he pulled his shirt back down.

The chat went wild.

> HauntedReality: "What the actual hell??? That's not from a stalker!"

> GhostHunter9000: "That's 100% paranormal, bro!"

> KarenFromHR: "See a doctor immediately!"

> SpookyFanatic: "Did it happen when the stream cut off?"

> CryptidSeeker: "Could be some quirk user doing this… "

David glanced out the window of the train before turning back to the camera. "Look, I don't know if it was some quirk user or if there's something... else going on. All I know is that I've left my place for a while, just to be safe. I'll update you guys when I have more info."

He rubbed the back of his neck, looking a bit uncertain.

"In the meantime, I'll keep streaming when I can. Maybe I'll figure out what's really happening... or maybe I'll just end up with more questions. Either way, I'm not going back there alone anytime soon."

He gave a tight smile, trying to shake off the lingering unease, then glanced at the chat again.

>TheWatcher: "Stay safe, man. This is crazy."

>CreepKing: "Bet it's all fake."

> HauntedReality: "Nah, that mark was real. No one fakes something like that."

> KarenFromHR: "Don't go back, it's not worth it!"

David nodded once more and ended the stream, the train continuing to move forward as he leaned back in his seat.

A smirk on his lips.
