Denki strolled up to the doorway marked 1.A on a sign sticking out from above. Pusjing open the door, he was inmediately waylaid by yeat another person.
It was the annoying kid from the practical hall. His exageratedly rigid form and glasses hard to misplace. "Good morning there! I am Iida Tenyafrom Somei acadamy."
He introduces himself as he waits expectantly for Denki to respond. "Denki Kaminari, from a different school" Denkis voice rings out amused by the raven haired kid.
"Kaminari? You were the top ranked student in the entrance exam!" Tenya quickly figures out where he remembered that name from. "Your score was simply unbelievable. Managing to score one of the highest scores in villain points is already impressive.
yet choosing to sacrifice the chance of gauranteed points to help out your fellow examinees!" Tenyas enthusiastic speech nearly deafened everyone in the room. They all turned to the commotion, listening in as awe filled faces watched Denki.
"Did you know?" Tenya asked. His breath hitched as he waited for Denki's answer. "Hmm, know what?" Denki feigned being oblivious.
"That there would be a second metric for scoring points? Its simply too much to believe you sacrificed so much percious time helping others, time you could have spent earning vast amounts of points,"
The rant stopped for half a second as Tenya gathered his breath, "you managed to work out that there was more to the test. You risked the first place on it too!" With Tenya declaration over the room fell quiet.
Everyone, even an explosive tempered bspiky blonde, leaned forward. Was it true? Had he really figured it out when they had no idea till the reveal.
"Hahhhh, look I took a gamble." Denkis tired voice broke the tension as silent gasps rang out around him. "I didn't know for sure, but U.A is known for producing heroes, the type that give their all to those around them, so I thought it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine that helping others could be rewarded.
Besides I'd already gotten enough points so I knew I'd pass, whats the harm in lwnding a helping hand?" With that Denki gave a cheeky wink and a lop sided grin as he made his way past the stunned Tenya.
Everyone else too sat frozen for a second, their mouths wide open as they looked at Denki with different reactions.
The onyl exception was the spiky blonde himself. A deep scowl and a burning look covered his face as dark lones worked their way across his forehead.
He scoffed as he turned his head to look out the window. "Amazing! Truly the behaviour deserving the number one examinee! I have so much to learn from you!" Tenyas loid voice rang out enthusiastically once again.
His words woke the rest up too as they began bombarding Denki with praise and questions. Denki stood helplessly, unable to move any further as he had to dilligently answer everyones clamouring.
Momo watched from the back, he eyebrows rosed into cresents as tears threatened to roll from her eyes. Laughter choked her as she struggled to hold it back.
She loved seeing Denki, usualy so calm and composed, in these situations. He would become awkward and uneasy at so much admiration directed at him.
No matter how many times it happened he was always uncomfortable with it and Momo always got a good laugh at his expense.
'he wont be getting any help from me, not after he "forgot" to mention we were speaking to the Headmaster earlier' she smiled coyly as she watched with a hint of schadenfreud.
Denki finally managed to break through his fellow classmates ring, marching his way to the back of the class as he pleaded silently in his head that they would leav him alone now.
As he sat down in a slump into a chair, conveniently postitioned by the desk beside Momos, he sighed tiredly. Momo couldn't take it any longer, a peel of laughter escaping from her.
It went unnoticed amongst the others as they had sparked up conversations and arguements between wach other. But not Denki.
He glared at her as he watched her laugh at his misery. "Had your fun?" He growled out in annoyance. Momo simply giggled more at him.
"Just about. We're even now" with that she controlled her fit and calmed down. "Oh don't pout, you know you had it coming." She added with a look that could kill.
"Yeah yeah yeah, tell me that when its you dealing with it." Denki responded quietly, all energy evaporated from him.
"Oh I will, when its me in the first place." She winked at him playfully, their rivallry not forgotten by her.
"Hurry up please. I don't know how many more times I can take that." Denki relaxed even further into the hard chair. Somehow finding comfort in its patently uncomfortable form.
'seriously do they have a rule about school chairs or something?' he though to himself. "Oh boohoo, Im always the best and people won't stop praising me" Momo teased some more.
Seeing his unresponsive form she decided hed had enough for now. "Come on Denki, you know they'll stop soon. They're just excited is all, once they've settled in it'll be fine." She soothed as her wamr onyx eyes looked at him in slight concern.
"I know, just hope they settle soon ha." Denki joked, he had had enough self pity for now. The conversation turned to more simple things as they waited for the rest of their classmates to filter in.
Their chat was almost disturbed though when the spectacled guy in his perfectly crisp uniform started berating the spiky unkempt blonde.
"This is school property!" He had yelled, his voice yet again booming out. Everyone had stopped once more to see what was happening now.
The two locked eyes as tension built. 'jeez guys class hasn't even begun yet, save the flirting for later.' Denki rolled his eyes as he turned back to Momo.
Suddenly a squeeky form of their last classmate appeared by the doorframe. Tenya vanished in a heartbeat as he reappered infront of the poor little guy.
He began his whole spiel as he introduced himself. Something that had happened for every single student that had walked in through that door.
"Does that not get tiring? Take a break kid, chill out a little." Denki mumbled to himself as he watched from the back.
"I doubt the guy had ever broken from that stance either." Momo joked alongside him, having heard quiet words. The two laughed at their jokes as they watched the nervous bundle of emotions being towered over by the black haired kid.
"Mm.. m. Midoriya Ii Izuku!" The small guy managed to chime out in a shout. His nerves were aost infectious as Denki cringed the kids shaking body.
"Izuku, you too must have figured out the secret perameter to the practical! Impressive! You may not have scored any villain points yet you still landed in the top ten through rescue points alone!"
The boy shrivelled up under the boisterous praise being rained upon him. His eyes bugged out in fear as he nervously nodded his head.
"I failed to see such a ploy, I have much to learn from you. My harsh words from before could not have been more wrong." Tenyas voice grew quieter as he spoke. Regret seemed to lace them as he remembered what he had said.
"I am sorry Izuku, it is I who has to look to you for guidance. You and Denki will be my rolemodels miving forward!" With that he did a perfect 90° bow as Midoriya shrieked at his actions.
The poor boy fussed as he tried to force Tenya to straighten back up. But the foureyes was stubborn, eventually Midoriya was forced to accept it as he mived on.
As he neevously made his way to his seat he stopped for half a second at the hot headed blonde from before.
One looked like a scared little mouse, the other a terrifying lion. Suddenly the little mouse straightened up a little as a fiercely determined light found its way into his own eyes.
"Seems they have history" Denki said to Momo, his interest feigning at best. The blonde was a firey hot-headed, entitled bully. In Denki's eyes he wasn't worth much.
If he learnt to control his emotions and behave better, then maybe he could be a good second place. Otherwise he will be destined to fall behind everyone else as they pish themselves harder.
Denkis eyes drifted back to the front as he waited for the cocooned figure at the front to finally reveal themselves.
"Seriously, whats taking him so long" Denki complained to Momo who just shrugged, aware of the man thanks to Denki.
"Go somewhere else if you want to play at being friends!"
