MHA: High Voltage

Things didn't go like the original. A tragic event in Denki's childhood has transformed him into a new and improved future hero. he won't be the lazy, dumb bum he was before. Now, using his newfound capabilities, he'll become a true powerhouse of class 1.A! this is a rewrite of a fic I started ages ago on another acc I lost access to. I've decided to try and improve upon what I made before with a more realistic rise to power. I've still tried my best to root his abilities in somewhat real to life science, several based off of real world animals and insects that use electricity in interesting ways. But not all of his techniques will be perfectly realistic. His stronger ones will definitely stretch that very thin line at best. I reasoned that, in a world where a guy with metal wings can fly and a guy can punch out his fist to change the weather, it was fine though lol. wish me luck, any support and supportive criticism welcomed.

11; The letter

The summer past in a one mass of bruises and cuts for Denki. He had gained a lot.

His techniques had all seen some improvement.

The use of electrostatic levitation at lower levels combined with his empowered run had meant an exponential boost in his top speeds.

It had also meant he gained some more manueverability, the slight barrier between him and the ground meaning he almost gloded over the sufrace.

When needing a sharp turning circle he could simply increase the charge a little as he slammed his feet down, like pushing off a spring board.

It wasn't perfect yet but it was getting better, he could now perform it all without looking like a shaking mess, twirling and falling on his arse when he miscalculated.

That was always the downside for him, the amount of calculations he jad to do in his head to work out the necessary power needed to achieve the desired end result.

Too much and he'd catapult himself into a wall and too little and he'd only end up sliding into the other.

But he got the hang of it and soon it became like instinct. His Gramps had gone from begrudgingly impressed to irratated as his grandson became like a supersonic fly racing around him.

Denki chuckled to himself as he made his way to breakfast. He knew she would have cleared out whilst he was training so no point going to ask if she wanted to join him.

As he entered the dining room though he noticed the difference immediately. His old man wasn't alone. Stood to his side was a small family unit.

A relatively tall man with a laid back yet aristocratic demeanor, like a nobleman of old, his hair slicked back and well kept yet not in a sleazy mafioso type way.

He wore a grey suit, like those of well to do business men and held a genial expression on his face. His eyes glanced at Denki as he flashed a lop sided grin before drawing back to the woman at his side.

Obvious love marred his gaze. The woman was a mature beauty. Her elegant features regal and refined, matching her outfit. A red dress that was modest yet still failed to hide the obvious curves to her figure.

Her expression was like that of a loving mother, tender and kind. Her warm brown eyes held each person in the room as she watched over them like a mother duck.

Her smile was equally welcoming as she too saw Denki. Last but not least was the bombshell of their daughter.

All curves and looks that could boil the blood of any man no matter their disposition in life. Hey eyes she got from her mother, warm and caring Onyx. Her smile she got from her dad.

She graced the room with it now as she watched Denki like seeing her prize grow legs and walk infront of her. It was the Yoayorozu family.

Denki had first met them through his Gramps, they had business together. Later he and Momo had gone through school together, suffering through the same sycophantic airheads of spoilt brats that made up their classmates.

Their shared hatred for that superficial place haf brought them closer, quickly becoming friends over the years. Atleast to their parents that was all they told.

Denki smirked at her as he entered. 'Seems she must have had to run back this morning.' he thought amused, seeing the slight flush to her features and worry in her eyes.

Clearly she had nearly been caught out, only just making it in time back to her room before she was noticed.

It was lucky really that they lived right next door. His Old Gramps was an aloof old bastard so not many would do business with him, that and his harsh refusal to any who didn't meet his 'standards'.

So when the Yoayorozus had contacted him, and his guardian had seen them fit to work with, he had decided to set himself up somewhere he could always be in earshot to badger them from.

Atleast thats what he pretended. Denki had an inkling that he had chosen here as the old mans way of standing guard over new friends he felt might need it.

"Brat, you finally decided to grace us, hope we didn't disturb your lazy morning!" His silver haired Grampa's barritone thundered out in mock annoyance.

No one believed him, too used to his antics by now to not notice the fake edge to his blunt remarks. Instead they all smirked.

The Yoayorozu's rolled their eyes, knowing he was jusy being impatient. "Denki, dear, seems some post has arrived and Gin simply can't bear to wait mich longer." Miss Yoayorozu spoke up in a clear tone.

Her slight tease at Gin caused him to huff as he pretended to not care. "Old man, she can read you like a book." Denki laughed heartily at his embarresment.

He had worked out what the leter was. Not hard when everyone of real importance in jis life had decided to gather round because of it.

It was the letter from U.A. the one that would tell him how well he had scored. He knew he'd passed and so did they, but they what they all really wanted to know is how well he had surpassed it.

The glittering eyes of excitement all met his own. "Well come on then denki, my boy! No time to waste." Mr Yoayorozu's boisterous and jovial voice rang out in obvious impatience.

Denki glanced at Momo as she saw her roll her eyes at her dad's behaviour, a smile flitting across his lips.

He had lost his chance to roll his eyes at his dad's embarressing behaviour, the thought was made before he could stop it.

Momo noticed the slight pain hidden within his eyes, concern etching her features as confusion took ahold. Denki smiled a genuine smile again.

He wasn't alone anymore. "Don't worry Mr Rozu, lets open it now, I can eat later." Denki said as moved to the empty seat meant for him by their side.

"Denki you know you can just call me Kaito" he corrected Denki casually. Momo' mum nodded her head in agreement. They had both constantly told him it was okay to be less formal with them by now.

"Haha yeah sorry, old habits you know" Denki responded as he brushed at the back of his head. Momo's eyes lit up with a playful glint.

"You never called me so formally" She spoke with mock hurt. Her barely concealed teasing making her parents chuckle.

"That's because we're the same age Momo." Denki chuckled to as he answered back, shaking his head.

With a huff Momo turned her head away as if upset. "Not good enough." Was all she said. Denki sighed at her dramatic flair. "Get used to that Denki, she gets it from her Mother." Kaito Yoayorozu mumbled at Denki.

"What was that dear?" The earily calm voice of the woman in question drifted over. Mr Yoayorozu froze in fear. "Nn nothing love, just joshing with Denki you know haha!" He nervously shouted as sweat dripped off him.

"Hmmm you better hope it was nothing." Her piercing gaze showing that her motherly personality didn't mean she couldn't be scary.

"Denki, dear, lets get on with the letter. I think you Grandfather might explode soon if we don't"

With that Denki noticed the look of barely controlled exctiment gleaming in his Gramps eyes and the fustration of having to wait any longer warring across his features.

"Yeah come on Denkii, we've been waiting all morning for you!" Momo teased again hoping Denki would take the bait.

"Okay, Mrs Yukina. Lets get on with the fun shall we?" Denki relented, deciding that old man Gin had suffered enough by now. Denki somehow seemed wholly unaffected by the letter.

Momo, seeing that her fun was over, now peered over Denki's shoulder in anticipation.

The moment of reveal finally at hand. She was too used to Denki's personality.

He never seemed to care about his results, only enjoying the challenge. Unless it was training or fighting Denki could barely seem to care in the past.

She could understand though, always being at the top in any test he took meant there never really was any suspense for him. Like telling him birds can fly, why bother when he already knows it.

They had been waiting all summer though, to see his score. Finally they could feel justified at seeing just how much Denki had outshone any and all other participants.

There was no doubt in their mind about it, he would definitely be the number one. 'Again!' Momo thought with both pride and fierce sense of competetive spirit.
