Solid Snake entered the dark chamber of his mechanical enemy, the lights illuminated this hulking green mechanical beast standing over 8.5 meters tall and on top of its head was Gray Fox,

"Welcome, Solid Snake. Welcome to your end as this Metal Gear is stronger than the prototype you faced last time. I've studied the footage of you fighting it and you shall know now it's impossible for you to stop us." Gray Fox said,

"Then I guess I have to make the impossible possible, I spent this entire mission being lied to, mentally tortured by your leader, my own father and worst of all the man I knew, the man who I thought understood was just lying to me. So here's what I'm going to do, I'm going to destroy that hunk of junk into scrap metal and then I'm killing you and Big Boss." Snake coldly declared which made Gray Fox scoff,

"Do you even have the heart to kill me? Do you even have the guts to prove us wrong?" Gray Fox asked,

"No but I can show you your own heart." Solid shot back, he fired a grenade but Gray Fox sliced it in half and hopped right into Metal Gear Delta and began starting it up. Snake took a deep breath to prepare himself against this giant beast, the mech began to come alive as it took a step towards Solid Snake.

" Showtime… " Snake thought as the mechanical titan began whirring up its 5.56 machine gun and its 60mm rotary cannon. A hail of bullets fired out and Solid Snake quickly ran away, the bullets right on his tail. Snake grabbed a smoke grenade and tossed it at one of the bullets, emitting a smoke cloud and making Fox stop firing.

"You think you can sneak your way out of this?!" taunted Gray Fox. Fox turned on Metal Gear Delta's infrared camera to scan for Solid Snake. To his surprise Snake was aiming his rocket launcher at him, he fired a rocket at Metal Gear Delta but it did little to phase the machine. Fox fired more bullets at Snake, forcing the FOXHOUND operative to run around the chamber. Suddenly, Snake heard a loud hiss from Metal Gear Delta's right leg, he then saw the body rotate and the leg extend like it was going to kick. The leg swung around toward Snake but Solid Snake flipped over and placed a C4 onto it, Fox then fired 3 rockets from Metal Gear Delta's missile pods. Snake quickly ran towards the rockets and then leapt towards one. He landed on top of it then directed it towards the left leg of Metal Gear Delta, he did this with the next missile and landed on the last one and moved around Metal Gear Delta. Fox then tried to shoot down Snake but the FOXHOUND operative quickly fired explosive arrows into the barrels of the 60 mm rotary cannon, causing it to jam and explode from the inside. Snake then flipped and pushed the missile towards the left leg before throwing a C4 onto it before landing in far from Metal Gear Delta,

"Are you done being defensive, young Snake?!" said Gray Fox,

"No but I just crippled your ass!" Snake shot back as he detonated his two C4s, damaging the legs and causing Metal Gear Delta to stumble and render its legs useless.

"C'mon Fox, the fight has just started." Solid Snake said as he fired rocket after rocket at the hull. Suddenly, Fox then switched the barrels of Metal Gear Delta's 60mm rotary cannon to explosive rounds and the 5.56 machine gun to duplex rounds, he began to aggressively fire at Solid Snake as the FOXHOUND operative kept running, faster than he ever had before. Solid Snake then held both rocket launchers and leapt upward to fire two rockets at the guns to halt them from shooting, Fox then switched the rockets in the missile pods to homing and locked onto Solid Snake. Fox fired them at him and Snake tried running but quickly noticed they were following him, he then spun and drew out his SMGs and began shooting at the rockets, Snake then took out his grenade launcher and shot grenade after grenade into the right leg, breaking a joint and forcing Metal Gear Delta to tilt slightly. Fox noticed this and quickly decided to act, he fired 6 infrared trailing missiles and 3 homing rockets. Solid was going to shoot with his dual SMGs but then Fox began firing the explosive rounds once more and then fired armor piercing rounds from the 5.56 machine gun, the pressure getting harder for Solid Snake. Snake then glanced at the legs and thought of an idea, he then turned and began running towards the legs, the missiles following after him as he ran. Solid Snake then stopped towards the legs and closed his eyes, concentrating on the split second he needed to jump. Once he felt it was time, Solid Snake flipped forward and began suddenly running up the right leg of the Metal Gear. The missiles couldn't react in time to turn towards Snake, resulting in them severely damaging the right leg even more. Snake then grabbed onto the visual sensor, and began to unload an entire magazine from the SMG inside before digging his fingers into the holes he made. Gritting his teeth and ignoring the electrical pain, with enough force, Solid Snake ripped the sensor off Metal Gear Delta and flipped onto the ground,

"Try locking onto me now!" Snake taunted back. Solid Snake then armed his two rocket launchers and began his assault on the left leg, using rocket after rocket until he was empty. Suddenly, 3 missiles fired from the missile pod, Snake was about to run but then they hovered near Metal Gear Delta. A red lens appeared from the top of each hovering missile and began emitting a scanner field. It found Snake and Fox immediately began firing homing missiles and explosive rounds from the rotary cannon. Snake quickly began firing grenades at the rotary cannon but then the 5.56 machine gun began firing armor piercing rounds, the missiles now getting closer. Snake then ran and turned to shoot the rockets away, then leapt upwards to grab onto the rotary cannon. Snake placed three C4s on it then tossed some of them at the legs and swung himself upward to the missile pod, Fox was about to fire another missile but Snake quickly flipped backwards and fired the last of his grenades for his grenade launcher into the missile pod, causing the entire thing to blow apart from Metal Gear Delta. While in mid air, Snake also began shooting the last of his magazines for his SMGs. Metal Gear Delta was almost down and out, he held the weapon that he used before to land the fatal blow on the TX-55, the bow. Solid Snake quickly detonated the C4s, destroying the rotary cannon and damaging the legs more. Fox tried blindly shooting the 5.56 machine gun but Snake fired arrow after arrow into the legs, Metal Gear Delta kept stumbling from the blow, he needed to finish it. Solid Snake took his last three arrows and placed the last three C4s on them to hold them together, Snake then tied his grenade belt around his explosive arrow C4 combination and then sprinted towards Metal Gear Delta. Solid Snake slid under then fired the arrows under the machine, the large explosion caused the legs to completely break apart from Delta and severely damage the body. Gray Fox leapt out and quickly ran to a door right before Metal Gear Delta fell and exploded to smithereens. Snake sighed in relief but knew the fight was far from over. Fox wanted Snake to follow him so he tossed aside his bow and walked in Fox's direction. The speakers came on once more as Snake slowly kept walking,

"And now the end is here….and so I face that final curtain. My friend I'll make it clear…I'll state my case, of which I'm certain. I've lived a life that's full…I traveled each and every highway…and more…much more than this…I did it my way." Big Boss sang once more, Snake knew going into this fight that there would be no mercy between him and Fox, even if there was a part of him that didn't want it to be this way.

"Regrets, I've had a few…but then again…too few to mention. I did what I had to do…and saw it through…without exemption. I planned…each charted course…each careful step…along the byway. And more, much more than this…I did it my way. Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew…when I bit off more than I could chew. But through it all, when there was doubt…I ate it up and spit it out I faced it all, and I stood tall! And did it my way!" continued Big Boss as Solid was mentally preparing himself,

"I've loved…I've laughed and cried…I've had my fill, my share of losing…And now, as tears subside, I find it all…so amusing…to think I did all that…and may I say, not in a shy way. Oh, no…oh, no, not me…I did it my way. For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself…then he has naught…To say the things he truly feels, and not the words of one who kneels! The record shows I took the blows! And did it my way!" Big Boss loudly sang as he let the instrumental play, Solid could see a light at the end of the hallway, a path to another room.

"Yes…it was my way…" concluded Big Boss as Snake began to enter this room, preparing himself for the battle of his life.
