Merged Worlds: Hunter's Guild (Discontinued)

What would happen if thousands of worlds suddenly got fused together? And what if one of these worlds was home to some of the most abhorrent and dangerous creatures in existence? Surely people are as smart as the natives of that world and will be able to figure out they need to work together or they'll be in way over their heads, right? ...Right?

The Rock Eater

"You know Ozpin. While I don't doubt the data gathered by your students, this seems just a little exaggerated." Ironwood told his fellow Headmaster.

"You saw the recordings James, not even the best Teams could deal with something like that." Ozpin stared, remembering the footage captured by the body cams given to Team RWBY.

Looking over the data once again, Ironwood had a realization, "If there's an a whole Guild dedicated to hunting creatures like that... Wouldn't that mean that there are way more than only that Serpinave creature?" He brought up the possibility.

This made Ozpin stop in thought for a moment, "If that was the case, then the better idea would be to not allow crossing over into that world until we figure out more." He concluded, thinking of the danger people would be in.

"Before making any drastic decision, we should gather more data..." Ironwood said back, "That Lena seems to be quite knowledgeable when it comes to these beasts, maybe we can send someone to retrieve her." He suggested.

Ozpin nodded in response, the idea was solid, but then he remembered a problem, "She said she would be gone from the guild to hunt for a... Mammoteske she called it." He informed.

This information made Ironwood rethink the course of action, "The hunt should be temporary.... We can just wait until she gets back there." He replanned quickly before he got a call on his scroll, "Hello? ...Specialist Schnee compose yourself, what happened? ...WHAT!?!?" He yelled when he heard the last part.

SDC Dust Mines.

"We need to stop that thing!!" A guard instructed the others, prompting them to start shooting a giant boar covered in stone, it's tail a giant wrecking ball destroying all the Dust veins in the mine, which it then proceeded to inhale along with a few unlucky workers.

The guards kept shooting, not dealing any damage due to the boar's stony skin, "This isn't even tickling it!!" One guard noted watching the bullets just bounce off.

The giant boar kept dstroying and eating the mines when Ironwood arrive with soldiers from Atlas Military and explosives, "Fire!!" H of the squad instructed, prompting the soldiers to begin firin the explosives at the beast, and actually managing to deal some damage to the seemingly indestructible skin.

"Just in time..." Winter sighed in relief, watching the boar reel back from the damage of the explosions, "General! This creature just showed up in Atlas all of a sudden and immediatly rushed to get here!" She explained what led to this.

Ironwood sighed at the explanation, "It's about what I was talking about with Ozpin, this just makes it more urgent." He tol the Specialist before turning to the soldiers, "Whatever you do! Don't stop firing! If it gets away I doubt we'll be able to track it down!" He ordered.

As the explosions kept going off, the boar started doing something weird, it started eating the explosive, "What the-" One of the soldiers was about to say, but was cut off, by fire starting to come out of the cracks in the boar's skin.

"It caught fire!?" Ironwood exclaimed as the boar's maw started glowing before spitting out a fire ball at the soldiers, making them all get crushed by it.

Ironwood and Winter looked horrified at the sight, "No way..." She muttered, not noticing that the boar turned to them.

A second of charging later, the boar spat out another fireball towards the Specialist and the General, who noticed just a little too late and couldn't move out of the way anymore, so they braced for impact, but all of a sudden, someone arrive and blocked the fireball with a hammer the size of their body.

Caught by surprise by this, Ironwood looke at their savior for a moment before realizing something, "You're Lena!" He exclaimed recognizing the girl from the recordings.

"Heh! So you're the one those four were reporting back to? I expected something more not gonna lie!" Lena mocked before slamming her hammer on the ground, using the recoil from the impact to leap up high.

Keeping her eyes on her prey, Lena began explaining stuff to the two, "If you wanna hunt a Mammoteske..." She began while shooting a string from the sides of the head at the beasts feet, which expanded and caught them like glue, "Remember to bring blunt weapons!!" She finished as she slammed her mallet against the Mammoteske's head, knocking it out.

The sight of the beast being dealt with so easily, shocked the remaining soldiers who fell on their backs to try and calm their heart rates down, "Oh I love life...." One of them whispered feeling full fo relief.

Winter was also shocked by what just happend, but Ironwood was more composed having it seen happen in the recording too, "That's the thing you were hunting? I was informed it was in your world." He pointed out, confused as to why it was there.

Turning to glance at Ironwood, Lena smirked, "This stuff you're mining is very similar to Source, and Mammoteske are gluttonous of it." She explained before slamming her mallet against the beast's head again, crushing it to a pulp and then putting it's corpse in a crystal.

"I'm guessing you use this stuff for weapons?" She asked, "Suggestion: Stop." She stated firmly with a look that left no room for debate.

After this, the place was left awfully quiet, but after Winter got her composure back she felt slightly offended, "Who do you think you are to-" She was saying, but Ironwood interrupted her.

Putting an arm in front of her, "It's fine Specialist Schnee, I actually wanted to have a word with Lena here." He explained, looking at Lena like she was a terrifying monster.

"Talk to me? I guess I can afford to be a little late reporting the commission." Lena agreed, doing a small bow, clearly made to be sarcastic.

Looking at this gesture made Ironwood wonder 'Is this really a good idea? She's been calm this whole time, elated maybe, what would she do if I made her mad?' This is the last thought he had before motioning for Lena to follow him.
