Matthew clenched his fists as Ronan's anger flared. His twin brother wanted him to back down, to let him have Sophia without a fight. But Matthew wasn't about to surrender so easily.
He knew what they said about fighting—that it solved nothing—so they settled on his mother's suggestion instead: finding the elusive flowers in the forest. Simple enough, right?
"You'll never find it," Ronan scoffed, his tone dripping with disdain. "You barely spend any time in the woods."
Matthew met his brother's gaze, unbothered. "That's where you're wrong, Ronan. I might not waste my time roaming the forest like some wild animal, but I know enough about it. And I can speak to the animals to help me find my way."
Ronan growled in frustration. "You can't ask the animals for help with the flower bush—that's cheating."
