Chapter 5

DYLAN.

"Whatever you say. Right, we're having another roommate today, he's also a transfer student like you."

Almost immediately the door creaked open, revealing another tall figure like myself standing at the door. I didn't need to look twice at him before realizing who he was. Gamma Jake.

"Oh you're here! Hi" Finn beamed staring at him.

"Alpha Lycan?" He called out.

Shit! He just called me Alpha before Finn.

Finn turned to look at me and back at him, "You guys know each other already? And Dylan, did he just call you an Alpha?"

"Uh no, I don't think I know him before."

Immediately Jake understood, "Sorry I mistook you for someone else. Hi I'm Jake"

"Oh well I'm Finn, and this is Dylan. We're your roommates."

"Nice to meet you both." Finn helped him carry his bag and other carton boxes to his own corner of the room. I couldn't help him because Jake is my inferior at the pack, after the Alpha is Beta and then Gamma and Omega. It should be him helping me, not the other way round, my pride and ego matters a lot in cases like this.

FREDA.

I was back at the pack house, I wouldn't be here if I wasn't summoned.

"Father" I stood up to welcome my father, the Alpha of our pack, Moon pack. Instead I was replied with a slap across my cheek, my hair covering half of my face. I paused, placing my trembling palm on my burning cheek. The entire room fell quiet, they were probably already used to this.

"What were you doing with him again?"

He flung some piece of pictures at me, they were pictures of I and Lucian.

So this is what this was about? Because I was with Lucian?

"Answer me!" He yelled. And I could see the maids in the room shiver in fear.

"I... I had... he's just a friend, father. I told you already "

"A friend? How can you be friends with that evil vampire creature? He is a threat to every wolf family, and yet you claim to be friends with him?"

"I'm sorry father" I mutter incoherently. Though I never meant it anyway. Lucian was the one I love and always will love.

"Get out of my sight, you incorrigible fool!"

Briskly, I walk out of the room to my room, ignoring my mother's persistent call.

If there was one thing I have learned from Lucian, it would be: not showing your pain to anyone, pretending you are not hurt when actually you are, in multiple folds. Safe to say my father haunts me.

When the rush died down, there was nothing but hurt and the stench of hatred. Hatred for my father, hatred for my mother for not speaking up to her husband, and hatred for werewolves and their stupid pack rules.

The bright lights in the room made my vision a bit hazy, so I closed my eyes; letting the tears well. My heartbeat was so fast that my chest hurt.

'Lucian, I'm hurt.'

DYLAN.

Watching the two boys pack and unpack made. me feel uneasy, so I stepped outside for air. Their energies were colliding with each other, even though Jake was a werewolf too. I was on a red hoodie and a pair of ripped jeans, my hands inside the pockets. I strolled out of the quarters, down to the school lobby. A motor bike suddenly rode past me, he was off down the narrow road at top speed.

After a couple of steps, I turned back heading to the male quarters.

"Dylan." I suddenly heard. I was so used to people calling me Young Alpha at the pack, that hearing Dylan from these people sounded strange. I turned to see who that was. Great, just who I wasn't planning to see, Chloe.

"Hey Chloe," I beamed in faux once she approached me.

"Where are you headed?" she asked.

"The male's quarters, why?"

"Just hoping we can hang out for a bit, and have a little conversation. Don't you think?" She spoke.

At her sentence I suddenly remember Freda Moon's card, and her invite for a conversation.

"Oh I have nothing doing anyway, so sure"

~

I and Chloe had branched at the school's coffee bay, talking about lots of things. Or rather me coming up with a lot of things on how my other college was, thankful to the few comic books I read about college life, I could give a very reasonable story.

You talk too much. I wanted to tell her at a point. She randomly picks up any and every little thing, making a reasonable conversation about it; some of which were unnecessary though.

I had walked her down to the narrow road that led to the female quarters, and she was grinning from ear to ear. I didn't realize what she was going to do when she stood before me tiptoed, the next second she was placing her lips on mine and kissing me roughly. It lasted for 2 seconds exactly, yes I counted because I was trying to gain consciousness of the situation at that time before I pushed her.

"What the hell was that?" I shot at her.

She only giggled and jogged back to her quarters, not saying anything more.

Who the hell does that?

I stood there trying to comprehend an interpretation on what Chloe just did. My thoughts were getting mashed up together and images of that pretty girl kissing me roughly replayed in my head severally. At this point I think Oz and I are going brain sick.

"Dylan?"

I jolted and turned to see Jake walking up to me.

"Are you alright?" Jake asked.

"Yes I am, why?"

"I saw you shake your head vigorously earlier, is it the tics? Are they back?"

"Oh no I'm fine, I'm long over the tics now. Just getting some thoughts off my head," I told him simply. Jake was one of my close friends back at the pack when we were kids, he had known of my tics problem back then along with the others. I wasn't diagnosed with tourettes, I just had constant tics to sounds and noises which causes habitual twitching of my head and face. It was something I had as a child which I had miraculously been cured of.

Jake nodded, "Well it's so nice to see you again, Alpha. I never thought your father would send you to this side of the world. I always imagined you going on missions in alien worlds," he smiled.

"Alien worlds? No my father is not that inconsiderate," I laughed and he laughed it off too. "Why are you here anyway, any missions?"

"Yes but as much as I would have loved to tell you in details, the Great Alpha requested it be kept a secret. I'm sorry, Alpha" Jake bowed his head slightly, indicating respect and sincere apology. Something he thought was quite normal in their pack.

"I never expected you to tell me anyway," I said, unruffled. Obviously missions were taken quite seriously and always kept secretive, even from the Pack leader's son.

Suddenly my senses heightened, I paused and felt some strong energy emit close to us. Some strange energy was around us.

"You sense that too, Alpha?" Jake asked, staring into thin air, concentrating on the energy. Jake possessed the ability of sensing too, even though my ability was more sensitive than anyone in the pack.

"Yes," now the energy was stronger and felt closer.

Could this be? Only one of the greatest vampire creatures gave out such strong energy. Who the hell is this blood sucking demon? I turned and that was when my eyes met hers.
