Chapter 8

When Reaper saw the staff, he remembered something else, another foreign memory that wasn't his. He saw the same old man using the staff to make a portal. Having seen the old man do so, Reaper wondered if he could use the staff to locate and contact Prime. So he picked up the staff and tried to activate it...and failed miserably. No matter what he tried, he couldn't activate the staff. Reaper therefore concluded that only the owner of the staff could use it, so he began to look around for any indication of the old man's current location. He first checked the captain's log, hoping the old man put something of value in there, but he found nothing. Then he checked the ship's logs, and after searching around for a while, found some useful camera recordings. The first showed enemy ships pursuing the asteroid. The second showed the old man opening the door, and a pair of hands grabbing him and pulling him out of the asteroid.
