Triton's Grief.

At the same time Timaeus arrived at Themyscira, Triton, knight of the sea, along with his sister, and father, all returned to Olympus.

" What a victorious day. We slaughtered traitors and showed those whore amazons! Oh, what a glorious day indeed."

" We couldn't have done it without lord Triton and Lord Poseidon."

" Or Lady Kymopoleia."

" HAHAHAHA! To our gods and goddess."

" CHEERS!"

Triton heard the banter and cheers of his men below, while sitting on his throne.

" Listen to them. I don't remember the last time they were this lively. Things have certainly been entertaining as of late, haven't they brother?" Kymopoleia asked Triton as she looked down at the partying fishmen below.

" No, they haven't and yet. I feel like something is wrong." Triton replied.

Kymopoleia looked up from her subjects and turned her gaze to her brother inquisitively.

" What do you mean, brother? What could be so wrong with a fine victory? You even managed to crush that fool Hercules. With father's help of course, but a victory is a victory nonetheless." Kymoploeia told her brother. Her words were sharp and laced with venom.

" Something about all of it just doesn't... Feel right. I mean why would the amazons, warriors of the gods trained to in every form of combat, women so fiercely loyal to protecting Greece, all of a sudden betray us? Turn their back on Greece. It just doesn't make sense. I know father said the family, were a family of dark magic. But not once have I ever seen them use it. Even in the face of death. I never once sensed any kind of evil influence over the amazons or coming from them. It just doesn't make sense." Triton spoke. His voice which is usually filled with pride and confidence, now shaken and rigid.

" Why must you ruin everything, brother?" Kymopoleia sauntered over to her brother's side and leaned up against him. " It's simple, they were merely trying to conceal themselves better. That is all."

" Then why did father take the little girl alive Instead of putting her to death as well? Why would someone as righteous and honest about protecting Greece, like Hercules, give his all to protect them? I just can't comprehend it." Triton complained. His feeling of pride and self-righteousness slowly but surely beginning to waiver.

" You don't need to comprehend it, Triton. You followed father's orders to the letter. You did good. You should be proud of yourself. I am." Kymopoleia, for all her arrogance and cold attitude towards her enemies, truly does love and cherish her brothers. Although she does berate them when they fail to uphold the honor of their father, nevertheless, she personally saw to it that Polyphemus was avenged. " Just enjoy our celebration. Speak to your subjects. Take a trip to Atlantis, if you must. See that woman, Namorita if you must. I know you fancy that merwoman."

" Since when do you care about my love life?" Triton asked.

" Always. You are my big brother after all." Kymopoleia replied.

Triton smirked and got up from his throne.

" Perhaps you are right, sister. Maybe I am just overthinking things. These have been troubling times. Father and the rest of the gods have won the decisive battle against the Persians and then this civil war with Hestia, Artemis, and Ares has just tired me greatly. I leave you in charge, I will make way to Atlantis for a while. Alert me should anything come up." Triton spoke to his sister.

" Of course, brother. Happy swimming. And have a safe trip too." Kymopoleia grinned and winked knowingly at her brother.

Triton simply rubbed his face in embarrassment and walked out of his chambers.

Triton made to leave for Atlantis, however before he could he looked into the prison hold, Where Diana was currently being held, and watched as the little girl cried for her mother and father. And suddenly Triton felt something wash over him that he hasn't for a long time. Shame. Triton, watched the girl closely, looking for any sign of black magic or some kind of clue to suggest she truly was a witch. Something, he hadn't done beforehand. However, as he watched the girl, he saw something that surprised even him, the sea creatures began to surround the girl protectively. And he hadn't been the one to order it.

This sight confused Triton beyond measure, as the only ones under the sea that could communicate with the marine life were those of his family and those born as such. Yet here these creatures are sharks, dolphins, crabs, and fish alike all protecting this little girl.

" Who are you?" Triton asked himself. There was only one person Triton knew for sure had this answer.

Triton gathered his gear, trident and all, and made a B-line for Hestia's domain.

Triton burst through the guards of Hestia's chambers and barged into her main room.

" HESTIA! Auntie where are you?!" Triton shouted.

Hestia emerged from a door in the main chamber with a confused look on her face.

" What do you want nephew? Surely you didn't come here to gloat about killing the amazons." Hestia spoke. Her normally kind and compassionate voice was now calm and mono. She showed signs of not caring. Not about Triton at least. She regarded him as a speck.

" The family, no the girl. The little girl. Who is she?" Triton asked.

" Isn't it a little too late to be asking that now Triton? You who have been so caught up with completing your mission. You who is supposed to be a firm believer of true justice and protecting Greece. Surely you know who it is you've killed. Who you've attacked." Hestia spoke.

" I..." Triton spoke. He closed his eyes and hung his head in shame as he knew she was right. He hadn't even investigated whether or not his father was right. Instead, he took his word for truth and carried out a death sentence on a child and a woman without fully knowing what it was he was doing. " I do not know. Who were they? What were they? Where they truly dark traitors of Greece?" Triton asked.

" Why the questions now? Why the doubt? Weren't you so sure?" Hestia asked.

" The girl... I saw her communicating with the sea creatures. No regular human should be able to do that. At least not one I've met yet. So, who is she?" Triton asked.

" There's no point in hiding it now. I'm sure as things are now, we only have one path left. The path I had hoped to avoid the most. You and he are on a one-way collision course, and I fear war will soon erupt in Mount Olympus." Hestia spoke.

Triton grit his teeth in anger and slammed his foot down, cracking the room around him.

" Enough with your antics, auntie. Who is the girl? And who is this he you speak of?" Triton asked.

" The girl's name is Diana, daughter of Timaeus and Hippolyta of Sparta. And she is your niece." Hestia told the man.

Tritons eyes went wide in shock, his body frozen stiff and his mind temporarily shut down.

" That's not..."

" And the man that Hercules, saved from you and your sister months ago was her father, The one that killed Polyphemus, was Timaeus, your younger brother." Hestia explained. " That's right, your father sentenced his own son and his family to death and you his own brother carried out the execution. I hope you are happy."

Triton felt his world crumble around him. His previous resolve crippled and his heart broken. The full weight of what he had done came crashing down on him.

" That can't be." Triton spoke.

" Go ask your father. I must prepare. And I'd recommend you do the same." Hestia told the man

" For what?" Triton asked

And just as if the gods themselves heard Triton's question, all throughout Olympus began to shake.

The heavens themselves echoing the mighty roar of anger from the Enraged demi-God of the seas. Timaeus.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!"
