Chapter 305: Gorr

In a distant parallel universe.

On a planet where nothing grows, there is an endless desert in front of him, cracked ground under his feet, and a hot sun that looks like it could burn anyone.

The whole world is covered in death, and dead bodies are all over the place. Every living thing in this world has died because of the harsh conditions.

Well, not everyone. Gorr is the sole survivor.

His eyes were filled with sadness as he lay helplessly next to a small mound of dirt. If it weren't for the slight rise and fall of his chest, someone might think he was already dead.

Nothing breaks your heart more than a dead soul, which is exactly how Gorr feels right now. He just put his own daughter to rest. She is buried under this small pile of dirt.

As the only person left on this planet, he can't hold on any longer, and his daughter's death has taken away his desire to live.

Now, all he wants to do is lie down and wait to die. At least his body will be protecting the small grave of his daughter.

In a daze, a supernatural voice suddenly echoes in his mind.

"You've endured so much suffering..."

"Come find me..."

"I can help you..."

At first, Gorr thought it was just an illusion he was having because he was about to die. But as time passes, he is shocked to find that his once-weak body is slowly getting stronger.

Gorr keeps hearing that seductive voice in his head, and he finally realizes it's not an illusion.

It's real!

With the help of his increased strength, he struggles as he tries to stand up. After a final glance at the grave of his daughter, he starts walking in the direction of the voice.

The sun is as hot as fire, and the wind is full of sand, which makes Gorr tumble and trip several times.

Still, he has to force himself to get up and keep walking every time.

After who knows how long, Gorr finally follows the mysterious voice and sees a hint of change ahead.

On the huge white land, he sees a green oasis in the middle of nowhere.

Gorr's face lit up with excitement when he saw this, so he increased his speed and soon reached the oasis.

He sees trees, flowers, and even grass on the ground, all of which look very attractive to him.

He also sees a clear spring and can't help but throw himself at it, gulping down the precious water that was so hard to find.

Then he sees their god!

Rapu

Gorr can't understand why his people always believed Rapu wasn't on their planet and thus never heard their prayers.

Yet here he is, lazily lying on the soft grass, eating fruits that have gone extinct, singing and dancing as if he doesn't know that his people, including Gorr's daughter, have died.

At this moment, Gorr's faith begins to waver.

And Rapu's next words make Gorr even angrier.

"You're all dead, so what? There will be replacements soon. You're all insignificant."

"He… He thinks there's an eternal reward. No. No, sorry. There's no eternal reward for you, dog!"

"There's nothing for you after death. Except for death."

As Gorr listens to Lapu's cruel words and laughs, he is filled with anger.

Slowly, he stands up from the ground, his face filled with determination, about to say something when...

"Oh my, is this a god?"

"Well... sort of. Not that powerful, but, in their own words, he is a god."

"How can a god treat his people like this?!"

"Dear, you must know that not all gods are good."

Their casual conversation clearly startles both Gorr and Rapu.

Rapu gets madder when he hears what the other person says about him without holding back. He stands up and looks around for the person who has the nerve to criticize him.

But in the next moment, he realizes he can't move, as if turned into a statue. He tries to help by drawing on the divine power inside himself, but it doesn't work.

Rapu is angry, but he also feels a little scared. Soon, he sees who started it.

"He's about to explode himself!"

Jack watches Rapu's towering figure from three meters away, a smirk appearing on his face.

Wanda glanced disdainfully at Rapu before turning her attention to Gorr, who seemed confused about the situation.

"Are you okay?" she asked with concern.

Gorr took a step back in shock at the considerate greeting and swallowed tightly as he nervously gazed at Rapu.

"Don't be nervous, we are not the bad guys, we mean no harm.''

Wanda tried to reassure Gel, but Jack interjected,

"There is harm, but only towards him!"

Jack's body slowly flew until he was at the same height as Rapu.

"You don't deserve this divine power!" he said sternly, staring at Rapu.

He raised his hand and pointed it at Rapu's forehead. In the next moment, a bright golden light moved quickly out of Lapu's body and into Jack's palm.

A dazzling golden sphere that shone as bright as the sun soon replaced the golden light, which had vanished.

As for Rapu... he turned into a cloud of flying ash the moment the sphere formed.

"Done!"

Jack returned to the ground as if he had done something small.

"What is this?"

Wanda asked curiously as she looked at the object in Jack's hand. She could sense the majestic life force inside the sphere.

"This guy called Rapu drained the planet's life force, which led to this terrible dryness on this planet."

Jack's face still held a hint of anger.

"This bastard only cared about his own power and didn't care at all about the people on the planet and their lives. If they didn't have faith in him, he wouldn't have become a god in the first place."

"It's so complicated,"

Wanda said she was a little confused.

Jack shook his head helplessly and turned to the third person present, Gorr.

"Do you remember where your daughter is buried?"

Gorr, who was already numb at this point, witnessed Rapu's death and saw how powerful this person was. Hearing the question, he nodded instinctively.

"Then go back. She needs your help.

Jack said, whether Gorr fully understood or not. He suddenly pressed the sphere he held onto the ground, and it disappeared into the ground.

In an instant, the planet began to tremble violently.

Gorr held onto a nearby tree trunk to keep from falling. He heard the sound of numerous things breaking through the ground and quickly rushing out.

Gorr started running towards the noise.

He saw the once empty and cracked ground bursting with new life. Plants grew out of the ground as if they had been given a strong push.

This noise went on for a very, very long time.

Gorr stood dumbfounded in the middle of the forest, his face expressionless and bewildered.

Suddenly, a drop of moisture struck his face.

Gorr slowly raised his head and noticed that ominous clouds were hiding the scorching sun. Soon after, there was a storm that could wake up all living things.

And Gorr ran as fast as he could through the soaking forest.

He had to find his daughter.
