In a final, decisive move, Kai lunged forward, his hand glowing with a faint, eerie light. He struck the vampire leader square in the chest, channeling a surge of cursed energy into his body. The vampire's eyes widened in shock and pain as the energy coursed through him, overwhelming his supernatural resilience.

The vampire let out a final, anguished cry before collapsing to the ground, his body convulsing and then lying still. Kai stood over him, his expression impassive as he watched the consciousness fade from the vampire's eyes.

Kai straightened, brushing the dust from his clothes. He turned to the remaining vampires, who had watched the battle with a mixture of fear and awe.

This was his first real battle, not only did he fight by using his strength alone but he managed to overpower most of them immediately, except for the little scratch he got due to a slight moment of carelessness and the overwhelming amount of vampires headed for him.

"I guess, that was to be expected..." Kai shrugged off his thoughts as he had done better than he had hoped for but he knew that fight could've taken a different turn if the pure vampire in front of him wasn't wounded and his goons were untrained.

"Now what do I do..." Kai looked around the warehouse as he couldn't find a single weapon he could use against them, not even a piece of wood he could impale them with.

"I guess decapitation should work just fine for the moment."

Back in the car, Nathan was reporting to his boss on their whereabouts when from the corner of his eye he noticed Kai getting out of the warehouse and hurriedly hung up the phone.

He got out of the car ready to greet him, when he noticed the bundle of decapitated heads Kai was carrying with him.

"Sir..."

"Open the trunk!"

Kai ordered as Nathan hurriedly followed, not sure of his intentions. For Nathan, Kai was nothing but a cold-blooded monster, a psychopath who enjoyed killing people for fun so it wasn't far-fetched of him to think the killer would want to bring some souvenirs with him.

But he still couldn't help but admire the fact that Kai had come out of the battle alive without any harm not to mention he had defeated the feared group by himself within a couple of minutes.

As Nathan opened the trunk, he watched as Kai carefully placed the decapitated heads inside the trunk when all of a sudden one of the heads came alive, opening its eyes with ferocity and baring its fangs at them.

"Oh shut up!" Kai closed the trunk shut as Nathan stumbled backward falling to the ground shaking, "What? Never seen a vampire before?"

"Va-Vampire?"

"These things are common around here, if you stick around longer with me you might see even more interesting things. Isn't that exciting?" Kai asked with amusement almost as if he was doing him a favor.

"Are you not going to answer me?"

"No sir... I mean yes... it would be very exciting!" Nathan said in a hurry as he couldn't help but figure out the connection between these monsters and where they came from.

"Servant, I have a very important task for you." Kai said leaning against the car as he turned his head towards the warehouse, "Burn the place down for me... make sure to do it clean, and if a word about this leaks to Fisk, you know bla bla bla... I am tired of giving out threats these days."

"Yes, sir!" Nathan got up as he nodded like a woodpecker, "I have a few contacts myself so you can rest assured the leaks won't contain anything about the vampires."

"Good and also there are 5 women in there inside a cold room bleeding to their deaths right about now, do what you want with that information." Kai shrugged getting inside the car Nathan stood still for a moment as his eyes went wide with realization.

Nathan's heart raced as he hurriedly dialed his contacts, his mind buzzing with a mix of fear and determination. He knew he had to act quickly to save the women in the warehouse and cover up the incident to keep Kai's wrath at bay.

Inside the car, Kai reclined in his seat, his expression one of casual indifference. The battle had invigorated him, and despite the gruesome nature of his actions, he felt a sense of satisfaction from testing his strength and abilities. He watched Nathan through the rearview mirror, noting the man's frantic attempts to coordinate the rescue and cleanup.

"Time to move on," Kai muttered to himself, the thrill of the fight still lingering in his veins. He needed to keep his momentum going, and the next target on his list awaited. The vampires had been a mere distraction, and he had a larger mission to focus on.

Once Nathan had finished his calls, he approached the car, trying to mask his anxiety. "Sir, everything is arranged. The women will be taken care of, and the warehouse will be dealt with discreetly."

Kai nodded, satisfied with Nathan's efficiency. "Let's get moving. We have more work to do."

As they drove away from the warehouse, Kai's thoughts drifted to his next target. The underworld of New York was teeming with threats and opportunities, and he intended to make his mark. The vampires had been an unexpected challenge, but they had also given him valuable insights into his own capabilities and the dark undercurrents of the city.

Nathan, still shaken by the encounter, focused on driving, his mind racing with thoughts about Kai. The man he served was a force of nature, unpredictable and deadly, but also strangely compelling. Nathan couldn't help but feel a mix of fear and admiration for the man who had just faced down a group of vampires with such ease.

But with what Kai had shown him so far, he still couldn't guess what kind of man Kai was. On one hand, he was ruthless but on the other, he seemed far more knowledgeable, not to mention those girls. He could've let them die out like the rest in his path but yet he didn't.

"Where to next, sir?" Nathan asked, his voice steady despite the turmoil within him.

"Continue towards the next gang as planned," Kai stretched with laziness, "We might have a long night ahead of us."

Nathan unlike before didn't hesitate much as he drove from one location to another, already getting quite accustomed to the slaughter that seemed to follow Kai. The car's engine hummed softly as they navigated the streets of New York, the city lights casting a rhythmic glow through the windows.

One after another, the infamous gangs and their businesses disappeared from the city overnight. Luckily, there were no supernatural encounters other than the vampires which left Nathan's fragile heart at ease.

As dawn arrived, the first light of the morning casting a soft glow over the city, Kai and Nathan finally pulled into a secluded parking lot. The car engine idled for a moment before Nathan switched it off, the sudden silence almost deafening after the night's relentless activity. Kai leaned back, closing his eyes briefly, the fatigue of the night catching up with him.

Nathan glanced at Kai, his thoughts a whirlwind of the night's events. Despite his growing unease, there was an undeniable respect for the sheer efficiency and determination Kai displayed. However, Nathan couldn't shake the haunting image of the vampire heads, nor the chilling ease with which Kai dealt with them.

Making their way to the apartment, Kai brushed him off heading straight for his bedroom to catch up on his sleep while Nathan remained in the living room making some calls assuring the burning of the vampire warehouse and the safety of those women.
