Chapter 61: Don't Do It! My Own People!
Thor had subdued Carol from all directions for five seconds before knocking her out with Mjölnir. When she regained consciousness, she found herself not recognizing her surroundings.
After thirty seconds, Thor's body had recovered, and Mjölnir was already in hand, poised against Carol once again.
Defeated and nearly crushed by Thor, Carol could only hold back her frustration, despite her dissatisfaction.
Ultimately, she accepted the title of "Captain Marvel," just as in the original storyline.
The difference was that she left Thor with her upgraded pager for emergencies, regardless of whether he would need it or not.
"In your world, how many strong individuals like you are there?" Carol asked, feeling downcast.
She wanted to gauge her standing in the universe to decide her future course of action.
Thor smiled and said, "How many? It's impossible to say. The only one in Asgard stronger than me is my father. He can easily destroy a planet, completely obliterating it."
"With your current strength, you'll rarely encounter opponents. But you must be extra cautious when meeting someone in the universe."
"Who?"
"A person whose face resembles a purple potato."
Carol nodded, somewhat understanding.
"You're Odin's son?" .... asked.
"Yes, didn't I mention..."
Thor replied casually, but suddenly realized something was wrong. The voice wasn't Carol's but came from behind. He hadn't noticed it at all.
In other words, the intruder had approached without Thor sensing it!
Realizing something was amiss and strong ominous dread aura, Thor quickly reacted. He sent Mjölnir flying towards the rear, the powerful divine force within it capable of easily destroying a city.
However, the figure behind did not dodge. Instead, he sneered and extended his hand towards the approaching Mjölnir, his black nails glowing with a faint cold light.
Upon seeing the figure clearly, Thor cursed under his breath, summoned Mjölnir back before it reached the hela hand, and grabbed Carol, who was about to act: "Don't! She's one of us!"
Carol: "???"
The woman before them was Hela, the goddess of death, Odin's first child and his sister, who shouldn't have been present at this time.
If Thor hadn't acted quickly, he would have lost his beloved Mjölnir...
What did Odin do? He left a half-sealed seal, allowing Hela to emerge early!
It's not entirely impossible to understand. After the Ancient One activated powerful magic twice in a row, she fell into a brief weakness, weakening the seal and allowing him a chance to retrieve Mjölnir. And her space magic that covered Earth was bound to cause Spacial disturbance.
With Odin creating a greater disturbance, the increased consumption might have led him into Odin's Sleep prematurely, weakening the seal against Hela...
One of our own? Hela looked visibly surprised.
Carol wondered, "Who is she?"
This woman exerted immense pressure on her, even more than Thor. It wasn't that Thor was weak, but rather that Thor had a relatively mild demeanor.
Years ago, this woman radiated the essence of death, as though countless innocent wailing souls revolved around her.
"She's my sister," Thor explained.
Carol: "??? You have a sister?"
Upon hearing Thor's words, Hela's expression shifted slightly, and she declared sharply: "It's almost pointless to resist. Now, kneel before your queen!"
Kneeling was out of the question—Carol was resolute; it was something she would never do!
"Perhaps we can... talk this out?"
"I don't think there's anything to discuss."
Hela finished speaking coldly, waved several flying swords, and launched them at Thor in an instant...
Thor barely had time to react, quickly dodging and positioning himself behind Carol.
"Bang bang bang—"
The energy around him flared as Carol intervened, blocking the flying swords that Hela had sent...
