As night fell and the mutant school grew quiet, Su Ke found himself wide awake. He had slept too much before and didn't feel tired at all. His mind was busy sorting out all the new information he had gathered about this world.
First, Su Ke confirmed that the timeline of this world differed from what he knew. The mutant school he was in had been rebuilt after Magneto's rampage in Washington, a timeline event he knew happened only after the reversal of the future, just a year ago. While in the comics and movies, this event was set in 1975, it was now 2010, making it more than 30 years off from the timeline he was familiar with.
However, what he discovered next was even more unsettling.
In the list of the school's founders, Su Ke noticed a name that made him feel extremely annoyed: Bruce Wayne. This was Batman from the DC universe!
Initially, Su Ke thought it was a coincidence, perhaps just two people with the same name. But after asking Hank, he confirmed it was indeed the same Bruce Wayne, a billionaire from Gotham City. Hank didn't know Bruce Wayne's true identity, but it was clear that Professor X must have known.
If Batman existed in this world, then Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Flash, Shazam, and other DC heroes must also exist. This meant that Su Ke was now in a world where Marvel and DC universes had fused.
The Marvel world was dangerous on its own, and so was the DC world. Being in a new world where these two had merged made Su Ke feel a mix of frustration and anxiety. He knew that Thanos would eventually come to Earth to find the Infinity Stones, and with a snap of his fingers, half of the universe would die. Su Ke wasn't afraid of Thanos himself, as he believed he was strong enough to fight him. But Thanos had the backing of the goddess of death, a creator god who was immortal and indestructible. That was a whole different level of threat.
The timeline was completely messed up. Su Ke had no idea what would happen next. He only knew that Thanos would eventually come to Earth and seek him out. In addition to Thanos, Darkseid from the DC universe and the unstoppable Doomsday were also significant threats. The Earth was indeed a perilous place.
Thankfully, the Avengers and the Justice League should also exist, including powerful fighters like the Hulk, Thor, Superman, and Wonder Woman. This gave Su Ke some comfort. After all, he didn't want the Earth to be destroyed just after arriving here.
Although he already had significant power, Su Ke didn't think he was invincible. There were too many strong beings in this world. To survive and thrive, he needed to become even stronger.
"Hey, system, aren't you a god-level villain system? Do you have any way to make me stronger?"
Su Ke directed his question to the system.
"Ding! Sensing the host's eagerness to gain power, the first mission is now issued: obtain a certain amount of mysterious power. Mission reward: 10,000 villain points and a chance to draw a lottery!"
Su Ke was speechless. If the system had a physical form, he would have punched it. "I'm asking you how to become stronger, and you give me a mission?"
As if sensing his thoughts, the system responded, "There is a large amount of mysterious power within a one-kilometer radius of the host. Please complete the mission as soon as possible."
What? Isn't it such a coincidence?
Su Ke was shocked at first, then almost laughed. He didn't expect the mission to be so simple.
"Okay! I'll take this mission!"
Su Ke agreed with a smile, getting up from the bed. Since he couldn't sleep anyway, he might as well see what the mysterious power the system mentioned was all about.
