Chapter 50: No One Can Beat Me!
Tesseract!
Perhaps the Red Skull was sent to Vormir to serve the Soul Stone, or perhaps the traps on the Tesseract put by odin have faded, making it more stable now.
At least it no longer transports people randomly.
Thor stepped forward, retrieved the Tesseract, and placed it in a box.
"The energy core, referred to as the Tesseract in Marvell's notes, is actually known as the Space Stone," Thor explained briefly.
Nick Fury noticed a cup of steaming tea and said in a deep voice, "Something's wrong. There are people here!"
Carol froze, her fists glowing with energy.
Talos stood in the middle of the hall, and a burst of relief escaped his mouth.
From the shadows, several figures slowly emerged...
"Are you... Talos? It's really you!"
A female Skrull ran out with a child, embracing him. Immediately after, other Skrulls appeared in surprise.
"Dr. Lawson instructed us not to send any messages to the outside world, or the Kree would find us..."
Talos' wife explained to him.
"It's okay; it's all over now!"
Carol felt a lump in her throat and walked forward slowly. "I'm sorry, I didn't know the truth before, and I hurt you..."
Talos interrupted her. "Carol, this is war, and my hands are stained with blood too. But none of that matters now, because you are the one who brought us back together. You are our benefactor."
An indifferent voice cut through: "What a touching reunion! Vers, have you forgotten your identity?"
Carol suddenly looked up and saw Yong-Rogg and a group of soldiers entering. "No, I haven't forgotten my identity!"
Minerva, who had always been displeased with Carol, remarked sarcastically, "As expected, she was brainwashed."
Another Star Trooper, Colas, added, "Don't worry, the Supreme Intelligence will restore her to normal!"
His so-called "restoration" was actually more brainwashing.
She glared at Yong-Rogg. "You've been lying to me all this time!"
Yong-Rogg's smile had vanished. "I trained you to be a better version of yourself."
Carol raised her fist, ready to strike, but found that the energy in her hand wouldn't coalesce.
Yong-Rogg sneered. "Everything you have was given by us. What we can give, we can take back. Don't you understand such a simple truth?"
In her anger, Carol rushed forward, disregarding her unreliable fighting skills, but was quickly knocked out in three seconds...
Before she could act, the two allied combatants were already on their knees. Nick Fury turned his gaze towards Thor, hoping he would intervene, but what he saw nearly made his eyes pop out...
Thor was holding his head in his hands, blinking his eyes innocently!
Damn, I thought you were so impressive—this is all?
Even as an agent who maintains his composure, Nick Fury felt a surge of frustration.
Facing Minerva's sniper rifle, Nick Fury knew he was outmatched and reluctantly set down his weapon.
As for Talos, he had long since ceased resistance for the safety of his people.
The protagonist group had been effectively neutralized.
...
Thor remained impassive, seemingly ignoring Nick Fury's resentful gaze.
The sight of an unworthy opponent in the midst of his struggle was irritating...
Ten times as many Kree would not be a match for him. To him, a so-called master like Yong-Rogg was merely a punching bag.
However, he was determined not to disrupt Captain Marvel's Awakening ceremony.
Losing the strongest Avenger from the original story was no trivial matter!
As the future King of Asgard, if he were to be defeated by a group of Kree, it would be a disgrace, even if he pretended otherwise!
Thus, as long as he could surrender quickly, no one could defeat him!
For the glory of the Asgard, no one can defeat me before I surrender!
…
