Chapter 113: Power of Runes

Thor, who had been standing still for a while, suddenly moved and raised Mjölnir.

A mysterious rune emerged from his body, illuminating the entire battlefield.

Thanos paused for a moment, then shook his head and said, "Rune magic? The power gained at such a great cost is truly remarkable. Unfortunately, you still cannot defeat me, and your power is insufficient to resurrect the fallen once more. However, I am curious to see what will you do next."

In response to his words, a blinding light flashed, momentarily illuminating the entire universe, revealing a slender figure within the light.

An entity who does not belong to this world—Jean Grey, the daughter of the Phoenix.

Or rather, the White Phoenix.

Thanos shielded his eyes with one hand and groaned in pain, yet he did not falter.

A colossal hand descended, covering the sky, and struck the Phoenix with tremendous force.

The Phoenix Force, capable of world destruction, was crushed by a single blow, the force spiraling out of control. Jean Grey, revived for less than a minute, was once again erased from existence.

However, this time, the Phoenix Force did not dissipate. Instead, it transformed into a ball of fiery light, racing toward Mjölnir in Thor's hand.

A blazing flame ignited around him, combining Phoenix Force, cosmic thunder, and Almighty Power!

At this moment, Thor had become the Phoenix King, a king born from flames, ready to unleash his wrath!

As he observed Thanos advancing, Thor closed his eyes slowly, channeling all his divine energy into Mjölnir, and hurled it toward Thanos.

Thanos caught the hammer and was about to act when he suddenly felt an overwhelming surge of energy emanating from it.

"Boom..."

Mjölnir, imbued with all forms of power, unleashed the most devastating explosion in the history of the universe.

A massive black hole consumed the entire world, shattering countless stars into fragments...

Thor's consciousness began to blur.

In his daze, a voice seemed to echo in his ear:

"Beep! Congratulations to the host for receiving the mysterious reward for the quest 'Thanos Terminator'—unlocking the Rune Magic ability template in advance, and the series of quests are now starting!"

"Quest Name: Rune Power."

"Quest 1: Revive the World Tree."

"Quest 2: Obtain the water from the Fountain of Wisdom—the Fountain of Mimir."

Thor was awakened by the little girl, Karla. He opened his eyes groggily, finding himself lying on a recliner. Everything seemed like a dream.

"Kara, what happened to me?"

Kara timidly replied, "Brother, your face was so distressed, and your body was tense the whole time, as if you were having a nightmare."

Yet, the world was clear—there were no Mutants, there never had been.

"System, what do you make of this?"

"I... don't know," the system responded softly. "I did attempt to enter the dream realm with you, but a mysterious force blocked me. Thus, I cannot determine what transpired."

If the system cannot provide an explanation, others would be equally in the dark.

Thor shook his head, dismissing the issue. It was futile to dwell on it.

Not to mention the invincible Thanos from the dream; even the regular Thanos had yet to be dealt with...

Moreover, the timeline in the dream seemed far advanced, with him mastering the power of the Rune King, and Stark and Hulk achieving unprecedented levels—impossible to attain in such a short time.
