Steve Rogers has always had a dream of joining the military and serving his country. However, due to his physical limitations, he was consistently rejected by the army. Clever as he was, Rogers even considered fabricating documents in order to fulfill his dream of enlistment. Unfortunately, the military personnel were not fools. After a few attempts, he was lucky to have been put on a blacklist and would never be admitted.
Fortunately, after the outbreak of World War II, Steve Rogers saw a new glimmer of hope and attempted to enlist once again. However, he was once again rejected. Rogers sometimes felt disheartened, seeing other heroes gaining fame during the war. He felt envious of mutants like Wolverine and Victor, who had become formidable forces on the battlefield and caught the attention of Captain America.
After the Stark Expo ended, Rogers was drawn to nearby recruitment advertisements. However, James noticed and tried to persuade Rogers to give up on his military aspirations. Despite James' advice, the stubborn Rogers refused to give up and bid farewell to James before slowly walking away. Unbeknownst to him, Dr. Abraham Erskine, one of the researchers involved in the "Super Soldier" program, had been observing him after his departure. At that moment, a man wearing a brightly colored handmade suit, different from the attire of the World War II era, and sporting sunglasses, raised his hand to get Rogers' attention. It was none other than Tang Tian, signaling for him to come over.
"Mr. Tang Tian has a good eye, and I also believe he can serve as a test subject for our program," said Dr. Abraham Erskine, a middle-aged Caucasian man wearing glasses, with a smile, in a place devoid of people at the expo.
"That's right, conducting experiments on a frail human body can provide comprehensive and optimal experimental data. And what about the matter I mentioned to you last time? Have you considered it?" said Tang Tian, looking at Erskine.
"I must say, Mr. Tang Tian's suggestion is very enticing. What the military doesn't know is that the main component of the 'Super Soldier Serum' is derived from the African flowering plant Solanium ascendens, discovered by Umbrella. Furthermore, it is an uncontaminated byproduct isolated from the depths of the Solanium ascendens. However, I cannot conduct research at your company unless I have a valid reason to do so."
Dr. Erskine is certainly interested in joining this company. The extracted substance from the Solanium ascendens clearly demonstrates its research value, which is highly enticing for a scientist.
"Don't worry, I have prepared your genetic clone as a replacement. You and Dr. Williams can research the latest biotechnology, which is similar to the G-virus, but more advanced than the Progenitor virus." Tang Tian calmly stated. In fact, this preparation had been made beforehand. As viewers of the movie know, after Dr. Erskine successfully conducted his research in Captain America, he was killed by a Hydra agent. The clone was already prepared in advance for such a situation. Furthermore, Umbrella's cloning technology is highly advanced, capable of creating clones with identical memories to their originals, making them indistinguishable whether in movies or games.
"Alright, I agree to join Umbrella Corporation," Dr. Erskine said with excitement, and it is understandable. He would have the opportunity to research the highly valuable Sun Staircase plant, and in terms of treatment, Tang Tian offered him the position of a research project supervisor. In the military, he was just a senior researcher on a project. Dr. Erskine wouldn't miss the chance to showcase his abilities. However, no one knew that behind the company's good reputation, it secretly conducted research on many dangerous biochemical weapons.
One more thing to mention is that Dr. Erskine and Dr. William replicated all the research data and experimental records of the "Super Soldier Serum." This is also a habit of Tang Tian when it comes to high-tech technology - never letting go of any opportunities.
Just like in the movie plot, Rogers went through a medical examination, and Dr. Erskine walked to the door, unnoticed by anyone that the current him is just a clone that looks almost identical to the original. Tang Tian's plan was to deceive everyone, replacing the fake Erskine with the real one after the fake's death. The great boss Tang would convince Erskine to fully join his company. Furthermore, during the vacuum period of World War II, Tang would continuously traverse the movie dimensions, plundering technology and talent. This way, in the chaotic Marvel mid-stage, he would have the power to defeat formidable foes like Sentinels or Supermen.
Ahem, sorry for the digression. Let's get back to the original plot.
Unlike in the movie, this time it was the clone of Erskine who arrived. After the preparations for Rogers' examination were complete, the military police called for the doctor who conducted the medical check-up, leaving Rogers perplexed and confused in the examination room. Seeing the forged documents, Rogers' mind went blank, and his first instinct was to run far away. However, with the guards entering the room, Rogers didn't dare to make any reckless moves.
"So, does that mean you want to go overseas and kill Nazis?" Dr. Erskine, the clone, said to a puzzled Rogers as soon as he entered the room.
"What did you say?" Rogers looked at the military policeman and walked out without saying anything, realizing that this middle-aged man was someone of importance.
"I am Dr. Abraham Erskine from the Strategic Scientific Reserve, Dr. Erskine introduced himself and extended his hand to the dazed Rogers, as if everything was under control. The clone's reactions were noticeably quicker than the original Erskine.
"Where are you from? Queens, Utopia Avenue, 73rd Street... Your five files state five different cities..." The clone of Dr. Erskine proudly recited all the information.
"The files might have been mixed up." Rogers, of course, wouldn't admit it like a fool.
"No, I'm not interested in the files. You've tried five times, and you still haven't answered my previous question," Clone-Erskine closed the file and continued, "Tell me, do you really want to go to the battlefield and kill Nazis?"
"Is this some kind of test?" Rogers asked in confusion. "Yes," Clone-Erskine replied with a slight smile.
"I don't want to kill people, and I don't want to become a monster, no matter where they're from," Rogers said solemnly.
"Alright, there are already many big guys participating, so having one small guy won't make a difference. I can give you a chance, just one chance," Dr. Erskine said as he opened the curtain and walked out.
"I accept," Rogers said. He couldn't possibly give up when such a rare opportunity presented itself. Only a fool would do that.
"Very well," Clone Dr. Erskine said, satisfied. He then asked Rogers, "Can you tell me where you're from? Honestly."
"Brooklyn," Rogers exclaimed excitedly. He couldn't believe his luck had turned around, and he would finally be able to join the military.
The clone of Erskine handed the sealed document to Rogers, who saw that he had been accepted as a first-class recruit. He felt overjoyed. Little did he know that all of this was the result of manipulation by a certain arms dealer. Captain America would soon make his appearance, and HYDRA, having obtained the Tesseract, was rapidly developing energy weapons. Everything was unfolding according to the plot.
