I and Alex arrived at the restaurant for our family dinner, and I kept wondering what changed. Why we were now having our family meeting in a restaurant? The last time this happened was my first two or three months with Alex. I wondered why we weren't invited back to the general Wilson's mansion again for this meeting.
In all, I hoped she was not in this dinner to trigger him again, we just have to get over with this funeral so we can all move on.
I understand their pain, and they'll never forgive us until Alex apologizes which I don't see him doing anytime soon. He didn't even show remorse for anything and still stands his ground on him being right. Alex stepped out of the car and I did too, he placed his suit jacket around my body arranging my dress with a grin on his lips. This was the cause of our fight earlier, he always added more clothes to my already planned attire. I thought we've grown past the whole dress-up doll thing, but no. For Alex, I was still his dress-up barbie doll.
His only excuse is that my dress was exposing his properties to others. "I cover up myself for you, you should do the same for me." He said. "By dressing like a maniac?" He chuckled at my question, "Anyhow you put it, I'm glad you understand what I'm saying."
I've tried, I've really tried for a month now, I've worked double time to make sure we don't have issues but it seems he's trying to poke me in any possible way. Now I believe there's no manual to Alex's craziness, even his mother's journal cannot help us anymore.
"I knew something was up with you, you're usually not the lovey yyy type." He said sarcastically buttoning my jacket. "What are you talking about?"
"I found your voodoo, the little charm you've been using on me." He said. "And you read all of it?" He nodded holding my hands as we stepped in. "You're a crazy man Alex, what happened to having respect for my things? I can't even have my little privacy anymore." He rolled his eyes. "Like I've had mine since I met you, you use everything I own."
"It's different when it's me 'cause that's what ladies do. We were your clothes, use your bathing products, take your money, and many others." At this point, I cared less whatever or whoever was staring at us, I'm having an altercation with a devil. The one that bullies me more than anyone in the world.
"You're mine Hazel and whatever is yours is mine as well." He declared. I moved my lips silently in a sarcastic way repeating his words as I rolled my eyes.
But it was the first time his dominant words made my stomach churn, okay it always does but this time was different from the previous words cause I was always quick to reject such words, but this time I just let it be. I claimed him too anyway.
"Rule 1, be the first thing he sees when he's had a stressful da..." "Alex stop." I could already feel my cheek turning warm.
"Why? Kiss him, cook for him, help him with his bath, dominate the intimate game especially when he's wea..." "Alex, I don't care if you've read all of it, you'd still fall for it even if I do one thing in that journal to you," I said proudly. "The power you have over me is crazy." We both stepped into the elevator. "How did you find it anyway?" I asked the man beside me.
"Under your pillow, that's where you hide all your important stuff. The smaller-sized ones are under the bed and the larger ones are on the bedside table. I'm I wrong?" His gaze held mine. "No, you do know everything about me."
"Of course sweetheart, I know everything that's mine." His voice got deeper trapping me in his gaze. Alex towered over me placing one hand on the wall as his other hands raised my chin. He tilted his head slowly to mine as his tongue brushed my lips sending shivers down my spine. He smiled grabbing my lips with his. His kiss was hungry and demanding, I moaned against his lips when his kiss intensified. Both his hands held my face as he plunged deeper into my mouth.
His tongue teased mine as they played catch and chase driving me insane, and just when I thought I couldn't get enough, he pulled out and he held me out of the elevator. We were both out of breath trying hard to breathe normally as we stepped into a room.
Everyone had already arrived when we got there, and just as predicted she was there with grandma. She shouldn't be here in the first place, being that she's had an issue with both I and Alex. Alex gave off no expression on his face, but from his hanging breath, I could tell how hard he was struggling to keep himself on bail.
"Good evening mother, Father, Grandma." I greeted them all excluding Beverly. Avery was back to her usual self, giving us cold shoulder. "Hazel, how are you dear?" Mother asked darting her gaze all over my body as if searching for something. "I'm fine mother," I responded and also went ahead to hug my big baby. Her baby bump looked pretty much bigger than mine, it's no wonder she decided to stay far away from our family's drama. Who wouldn't? In a couple of three to four months, we might have a new baby in the family.
"How have you been?" Our friendship had been distant lately since Carie and Lukas decided to raise their children out of NYC. "I'm fine my love. You look gorgeous." She complemented as usual, "You look nothing less than a queen." We both smiled. "How's Lila? Tell her her cousin misses her a lot"
"She'd come over for holiday soon if her grandfather let her. They've been traveling together lately" We smiled. "He wants to make so much memory with her so she wouldn't forget him that easily. I don't think the triplets would remember their great great grandmother again." Care nodded.
We all were affected by her passing on, but I was yet to believe someone killed her. That information is just so surreal. "Lukas." I greeted the man sitted beside his wife. "Hey." He's usually the quietest person in every meeting, he might not even say a word till the meeting is over. Alex drew a chair out and I sat on it, just next to Carie too.
The chef announced the food before serving, "How are the kids Hazel, the last time you didn't want them close to me." Mother asked. The issue between the family was getting worst and I didn't know why it felt like I was at the center of everything, it felt like there were invisible fingers pointing at me. I didn't say a word to Alex about anything, he found out on his own and did what he wanted so why was I taking the blame?
Besides, Falcon harassed me, he threatened to never leave me. "They're not safe with you guys anymore especially with her around." They all knew who I was referring to, the woman who's not meant to be here in the first place.
"Hazel, I know I've done so many wrongs in the past that I regret doing. I'm owning up to it now and hope that you forgive me. I was childish back then, but now, I'm willing to change" Beverly said most sweetly, one might think she's truly sorry. "Let's all focus on why we're here, right? I responded in the sweetest way I could too.
"What are you talking about Hazel? How dare you point accusing fingers at Beverly who hasn't done a thing? If there's one person my great-grandchildren are not safe around it should be this husband of yours. Who knows? He might wake up one morning and decide to kill you all." Grandma responded furiously.
"Alex will never try to harm his family, he'll protect us instead as he's always done." "Then you know nothing about the man you're married to."
"Don't add that stress to my wife, you don't want to go down that lane. The burial is this weekend get yourselves ready I'll arrange everything." Alex stated staring at Father who haven't said a word since I arrived, he didn't even respond to my greetings. "You realize this weekend is just three days ahead, who prepares for a burial in such a short time? Your great-grandmother is not a commoner that should be buried anyhow and anytime."
"I didn't come here to argue with anyone. I've given a date since you all are not ready to do that. I will not keep going back and forth with unproductive family meetings, I'm a very busy man and have a lot more important things to do." Alex said.
"Don't you there disrespect your great grandmother in such a way Alex, she's the reason you're what you are today," Father said this time. The continuous fights and quarrels were exhausting, I felt like passing out. This is why we run away from family meetings cause of its unbearing drama.
"Well then since it's settled, we'll be leaving now." Alex picked up my purse and helped me up as we left. This is it, we officially have issues with his family...
