The old man left Celine alone in the room with Calhoun, who was still unconscious. She stared at Calhoun's face.
There were a few smudges of dirt on his handsome face, so she carefully wiped them with her fingers.
The strong smell of rotten corpses was still lingering around his body, but it didn't disgust Celine at all. She was worried and sad that Calhoun had to fight so many vampires to fulfill his promise to her.
"I'm sorry, Jaime…" Celine whispered in his ears as she called him by his first name. She knew that Calhoun would not be happy to hear that.
But Celine felt it was right to call him by his first name, at least when he wasn't awake.
"Had I known that you would risk your life like this, I would've listened and worked together with you to find Monica…" Celine muttered.
Celine knew the old doctor said Calhoun would be alright. He just needed enough rest to recover.
