Mark Me Yours (Omegaverse BL)

"Dont- DON'T TOUCH ME!" His frantic voice rang out through the store. Why now? Why did his heat have to come NOW?! Ryan Neel is a mistake of nature, a male omega. Omegas make up less than 5% of the world's population, and only about 1% of them are born male. Omegas in general are looked down upon as the lowest social class, and have only recently, as far as political timelines go, been given rights as citizens. The collar he wears both labels him and keeps him safe, but it doesn't make life easier. He doesn't need any help. He's perfectly capable of supporting himself, in spite of what he is. Sure, there's not much room for luxuries, but it's an okay life. No time for romance. Well, maybe just a little...

65- Good First Impressions

Friday. Michael totally wasn't peeking through the curtains at his parent's house waiting for a car to pull up. He wouldn't do that. He didn't have his phone's notification sound turned to max. That would be a silly thing to do. He totally wasn't dressed in the most "normal," upscale, yet still completely colorful, clothing in his closet. There was no reason for him to do that. He wasn't monitoring the time by the second, either. Nope. Not him.

Edwardo was supposed to pick him up at seven. That's what they agreed to in their texts. It was ten 'till. It's not like Michael had been ready to go for an hour now, I mean jeez, he wasn't that desperate.

And I mean, he absolutely wasn't banking on getting laid. He didn't trim his body hair up all nice and pretty. He wasn't wearing his sexiest pair of underwear, the ones that were completely open in the back. It's not like he'd been fantasizing about having sex with the most drop-dead-gorgeous hunk of MAN for months on end, you know? Still... it didn't hurt to be prepared. Tonight might end up being the night he lost his V-card.

Above all, he wasn't nervous.

His parents had promised to get out of the house tonight, at his insistence. They were supposedly off on their own date, but he wasn't convinced they weren't just staked out somewhere nearby. They were good parents sure, but they had a habit of being overbearing sometimes. He didn't want to risk anything scaring Edwardo off. He wanted this date to go perfect. The man was everything his little omega heart wanted. Tonight had to be perfect.

Five minutes 'till. He could see a pair of headlights coming down the street. It had to be him, right? Oh, please let it be him! They got closer. They were slowing down... Holy shit! Was that what he thought it was?! The car just kept coming, it was a freaking limo! A limousine was parked outside his house! Holy Shit!

Michael very quickly shut the curtains and ran to the door to look out the peephole. The driver got out of the limo and circled around to open the passenger door. Michael had to swallow all the extra saliva his mouth was producing, because damn! The man that stepped out of that car was tastier than Michael had ever seen him be on a TV screen. He pinched himself to make sure he wasn't dreaming.

Tailored suit, oiled hair, and a rose corsage made for an extremely attractive character indeed. Edwardo was making his way to the front door. He had some kind of box in his hand, a present maybe? Michael hastily checked his reflection in the decorative mirror hanging nearby.

Showtime!

Michael waited a moment or two after the doorbell to actually open the door. He didn't want to seem desperate. He wasn't desperate. He wasn't... He was the most desirable omega in the world! And he wasn't the least bit nervous! Not him...

He opened the door, and confronted with his date, immediately forgot everything he was planning to say.

"House... hard... find...?" Michael stumbled over his words. He blew it. He totally just blew it. Could he get away with shutting the door and trying again?

Edwardo's heart was going a mile a minute. Michael was even more beautiful than in his Instagram pictures. He didn't even catch what Michael said when he opened the door, he was so nervous.

"Chocolate!" Edwardo held out the small box he brought with both hands in a stiff motion. "I brought you chocolate! You're really pretty tonight!"

They stared at each other in a mutual moment of short-circuiting. Michael came to his senses first, easing the tension by breaking into an awkward laugh when he realized how nervous they both were. Edwardo followed suit, their breaths making small clouds in the chilly night air.

"Thank you for the chocolate..." Michael carefully took the box. "Did... Did you really get a limousine for our date?"

"Well, I borrowed it... My dad uses it for official functions, but he insisted I take it tonight..." Edwardo rubbed the back of his neck. "He may be a politician, but he's a hopeless romantic."

Michael clutched the box of chocolates close to his chest. It was colder out tonight than he thought it would be, and he was trying really hard not to shiver. He didn't have a heavier coat that matched his outfit.

"I'll be sure to thank your dad later, I've never been in a limo before! Let me just put this away," he indicated the chocolate box, "and we can go!"

With that that, Michael dashed back into his house and straight to his bedroom, where he stashed the chocolates in his nightstand drawer. They were an expensive brand, and he wanted them all to himself! Junk food in the open tended to become shared property in this house. One last mirror check, and a quick pause for a silent scream and dancing in place, and he ran back to the front door.

"All set?" Edwardo asked.

Michael closed and locked the door behind him. "Absolutely!"

Edwardo offered his arm to walk Michael to the car. Michael gratefully accepted, using Edwardo's larger body as a wind break. It wasn't a bad excuse to feel up Edwardo's arms, either. The driver held the door open for them both, and it was insisted that Michael go in first.

It. Was. So. Cool! The interior was done in all black, with leather seats. Rope lights were strung both under the edge of the seats and along the top of the edge of the roof. There was even a mini bar built in to the side of the wall! How much fancier could you get? It was also nice that the heat was on inside, making it comfortably toasty.

Edwardo got in after him, and the driver shut the door. "Does this limo meet your expectations?" He asked.

Michael nodded vigorously, grinning from ear to ear.

Edwardo decided it was time to pour on the charm. The most beautiful person he'd ever seen was in the vehicle next to him, whether that was a man or not! It was time to be the confident alpha that he was! The time to be nervous was over!

"We'll go wherever you want for dinner, just name it!" He said confidently. He was prepared to wine, dine, and shine!

Michael thought it over for a second. There were plenty of fancy places to eat in the city, and a good number of them that he knew were quite expensive, not that he'd ever been. Was he really supposed to just pick something? That's when he had a wonderful idea…

"Why don't you take me to your favorite place?" Michael smiled coyly and batted his eyelids, a motion he'd been practicing religiously ever since he agreed to this date.

Favorite place, favorite place… For a second, Edwardo couldn't remember where he liked to eat. How was he getting so flustered by a guy?! Was this a test? Was Michael trying to get him to take him to the most expensive restaurant in the city, or was it a genuine question? How was he supposed to respond?

While Edwardo was struggling to come up with a response, Michael added, "I'm up for comfort food, if that helps?"

Comfort food… There was only one place in the city where Edwardo went for comfort food. It might not end up being Michael's version of comfort food, but there was no denying it was GOOD food.

"In that case, I know just where to go! You can't judge the place until you try it though, okay?

Michael agreed wholeheartedly, the curiosity eating at him. Edwardo signaled the driver, and they were on their way. Michael wasted no time cuddling up to his date's side. The internet offered a plethora of advice for how to make a man you wanted to pursue feel special, and he'd made sure to study every article he could find. What he lacked in experience, he was going to make up for in tenacity!

They discussed hobbies as they made their way to their destination. Michael knew they already had photography in common, but it turned out that they both also liked over the top action movies, and even played the same mobile puzzle game! Then they got on the topic of pets, since Edwardo wanted to warn him beforehand that he had a dog at home. He said she was a pit-bull from a rescue organization that busts dog fighting rings. Apparently she was super sweet and cuddly, and Michael was really hoping things went well tonight because there was no way you could just describe a dog like that and not want to meet them!

Edwardo was relieved by Michael's reaction. He was a little worried that him owning a bully breed would scare Michael off, which is why he placed such emphasis on how gentle she was. It wouldn't matter how attractive he thought Michael was, if he didn't like Essie, there was little point in continuing things any further.

Michael kept half an eye on the scenery they were driving by. It never hurt to be cautious of your surroundings when you were an omega. They skirted the city, and never really went to downtown. Where were they going? He wanted to keep an open mind, but the area they were driving through looked a little seedy… Was this a safe neighborhood? The limo finally pulled into a parking lot for an empty storefront. Parked near the street was what must have been their destination, and from the number of people standing outside, it had to be good, right?

"A taco truck?" Michael asked.

"Trust me, this place is the real deal!" Edwardo assured. "Do you want to get the food with me, or stay in here?"

No denying Michael was curious, he'd be safe as long as he stayed near Edwardo, right?

"I think I'll go with you… I want to see what they have."

Outside the limo the night hadn't gotten any warmer. A lot of the people here seemed to know who Edwardo was and treated him with respect, which was reassuring. The only problem was that everyone was speaking Spanish… Michael had taken some Spanish in high school, but he had no clue what was being said. Edwardo helpfully translated some things, but it was alienating. It was so cold! The line was so long! Maybe he should have waited in the limousine after all…

I hope everyone's enjoying the story so far! You guys can help me out a bunch by leaving a review ;) If I get enough reviews to get an official star rating, it'll help my book reach more people!
