Chapter-23 Ultimate Hall & Meeting a Rank 8 Mage

I woke up in the morning a bit later than usual. My mind felt fresh after a good sleep. I stretched my body and sat up. I could still feel the mana being absorbed by my body and, as usual, it was disappearing after entering my body.

I opened the status panel to check the amount of exp I had gained after a full night of meditation, ''Status''

I skipped all the other lines and directly looked at the exp bar. I was already having a good feeling, but when I looked at the amount of exp, I got shocked. 98? Is it really 98? I blinked my eyes and shook my head a few times to shake off any imaginary sleepiness.

I read a few times and confirmed the numbers showing on the status panel. It really was 98, and I was just 2 points away from leveling up. I got excited just by thinking. There were only two more exp points needed to reach the full mark. I guessed that I was gaining more than 6 points every hour.

I let the technique run and went to take a shower. After the shower, I wore the academy's uniform. Just as I was done wearing, I heard the sound of a notification in my head. I hurriedly stopped doing everything.

I felt a strong wave of energy running through my body and there was an increase in my strength. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the moment. It felt so good as my strength was increasing. My body was also going through some changes. I had socks in my hand which I dropped on the floor.

I opened my eyes and could feel my vision had gotten better than before. I looked around and then looked at my hands. I clenched my fists and nodded my head with satisfaction. I looked ahead and opened the system panel,

I read the notifications and then opened the status panel to take a look,

All my stats had increased by ten points. That was the reason I was feeling stronger than before. I looked at the increased mana. I had ten free SP (Stat Points). I was a mage, so I needed a lot of mana. As there was no limit to my mana capacity, I decided to put them all in the Magic power and soon my mana increased by a hundred points once again.

The exp needed to reach the next level increased by 10 times than before. If it kept increasing by 10 times after every level up, I would need millions of points to even reach Rank 2. I shuddered at the possibility.

After looking at the panel for some time, I closed it and wore the shoes. I was going to head toward the library to find out more details about Space Magic and spells. Just as I picked up the phone, I saw an email from the academy. I hurriedly clicked it open,

[ Wise Mage Academy,

Congratulations Alex Norton,

You have been successfully enrolled in the Ultimate Hall in the academy. According to the category of your magic, You will be transferred to the Ultimate Hall. You will receive further introductions after visiting Ultimate Hall ]

I read the details carefully and was thrilled to know that I had been admitted to the Ultimate hall. I already had some inkling that I'll be going there soon, but I didn't expect it to be this fast. What I valued the most were the spells that I could gain for free from the academy.

Till now there was no message about the free spell rewards. As much as I hoped there was no free lunch in this world because the dishes that I needed to eat were rare even among the menu list. I hurriedly left the dormitory and headed toward the Ultimate Hall.

Along the way, I could see more students than at night. There were many different buildings along the way as I was going toward my destination. I looked at the students and all of them were beloved the Rank 3 Mage. My appearance didn't attract any attention.

I was just a normal disciple here just like any of them and that benefitted me the most as I didn't want to be marked by anyone so fast. I also saw the building where I could register for the Virtual Battlefield and enter if I want.

It took me a while to reach the building. The door was closed and there was a big sign written on the front of the building. I scanned my student ID and the door opened. Another big hall appeared in front of me which was massive.

I entered and walked straight. There was no one in the hall at this time. I guessed that the students must be outside the academy doing their missions. Just as I was strolling around the hall, I heard the sound of footsteps.

I turned toward the sound and saw a man in his late thirties walking toward me. I had no idea when he appeared and I only heard his footsteps when he was close to 20 meters. I guessed that he purposely made the sound to alert me of his appearance.

He had gray hairs and black eyes like a sword. He was wearing the Academy's uniform. There was a badge pinned on his chest. I looked closer and there was a number eight written on it. My eyes became wide and realized that this man was a Rank 8 Mage who was at the position Grand Elder in the academy.

I hurriedly went toward him and bowed,

''Good Day Sir, I'm Alex Norton, a new awakener. I came here to-''

Just as I was about to explain my reason for coming here, he cut me in the middle and spoke casually.

''I know. I specifically came here to welcome the new member of our hall''

His voice was deep, I could feel the powerful aura around him. He was probably keeping his aura hidden inside his body but still it gave me a lot of pressure. There was a difference of seven ranks between us. Just as I was thinking, I heard his voice once again,

''Follow me''

He said to me and started walking deeper into the hall. I wasn't even able to ask anything from him and started following him. After thinking for a moment, I asked the system to check his details.

I read his status panel and my body became number after seeing his rank. He was a Rank 8 Mage. A true powerhouse of Rank 8, I almost felt like it was a dream seeing someone so powerful so fast. I thought Rank 8 Mages were aloof and rarely appeared in front of others.

But here in the ultimate hall a Rank 8 Mage came to welcome me. I felt honored and anxious. I unconsciously stopped in my tracks while checking his stats. I was still so focused on his rank when I heard him once again,

''What's the matter?''

I looked ahead and he was looking at me with doubt. I hurriedly apologized and started following him while keeping half of my attention on the stats. His power was some destructive type. I imagined myself blasting things here and there.

All of his stats were off the charts. His mana core was almost complete and he was close to reaching Rank 9. Rank 9 will make me as powerful as Vice-Dean. I was still in my thought when we reached in front of a door.
