Luna isn't just a simple girl. Others might perceive her as such but this book smart person is hiding something deep in her mind. She promised to hide it forever and lived as a normal person would but some force didn't want to waste such talent. One unlucky day, she found herself in a mysterious place untouched by the modern stuff she's familiar with. The people wear weird clothes, the houses looked old-style, and everything is so simple. It might look simple on the surface but that world had always been full of mysteries hidden deep within and waiting to be found. The place is just like her. She did her best to keep her secrets but the longer she lived there, the harder it is to hide her secrets in the dark. "There's no helping it, let's just embrace the truth," she uttered. "Keep it easy, young lady," a man in his deep, cold voice appeared behind. "Alright" "B-but get away from me" ------ Daily updates
Luna took the liberty of opening the door as she would feel embarrassed if she let Sylvette from opening the door. It's enough that she helped her carry her heavy luggage.
The room inside was as elegant as her bedroom in Akiro's mansion although it was much bigger and a cozy living room welcomed her.
Luna thought that the four doors on the left and right side of the purple-colored wall were the bedrooms. In total, she would have two other roommates aside from Sylvette. She did not attend a school that requires students to live in a dorm before so this was her first time. Furthermore, she wasn't that close with everyone in the school.
She stood there awkwardly and expected that the two people seating on the couch would immediately notice them as the creaking sound of the giant door was impossible to not hear.
They were both young yet they seemed the same age as Akiro. The one holding a teacup had eye-catching dark purple eyes and her cerulean hair was tied in a loose braid. The other one had ash-colored eyes and her light brown wavy hair laid bare at her back.
Both of them wore something like uniform-custom styled clothes though they look so mature.
'Maybe the length of the clothes made the difference,' Luna thought.
Back on earth, she remembered cosplayers wearing short fantasy-style dresses and their temperament was very different from the mature look of these people and so was Sylvette who still looked stunning in her short dark brown hair and thin silver-rimmed glasses.
The lady with ashen eyes that matched her dark gray dress first turned her head to them.
"You're back, Sylvie, and... you let in a new student?" she said.
The woman guessed her as a new student seeing that she brought her luggage.
"Of course, a friend of mine I had met two months ago I think? Anyway, she will be our new roommate here in Sapphire Room," Sylvette explained.
"Are you sure, Sylvette? Final? I'm fine as long as she could match our pace," the other one said.
"I'm very sure. If I'm not I would have recommended her to the lower sections," Sylvette said.
Luna kept quiet all the time. She wasn't mad though because they didn't know who she was and then suddenly became roommates with the seniors.
'But why do I have to match their pace when I just needed some room to stay in,' Luna said.
Something she didn't know was definitely going on inside the academy.
"It's settled then. We can always check her abilities. Anyway, welcome aboard to the Sapphire's section. I'm Lady Ashley zin Lumina, a magic general's daughter of the South," she introduced.
The one with cerulean hair went near them and looked towards Luna's eyes.
"The name's Miss Lisha yin Erellina, a knight's daughter from Lumina's Army. It's a pleasure to meet you miss?" she said.
They were her seniors so she decided to bow her head a little while clutching a part of her dress. With her new name, she introduced elegantly.
"Good greetings, I'm Lady Luna Noir sien Mendelevinn, a student of the Honorary Master Mage Akiro," Luna said.
The three of them looked at Luna with widened eyes. The news was new to them.
"Sylvie, you hid to us a very good news!" Ashley said.
Sylvette looked at her dumbfoundedly. "What are you talking about? As I've said, I just met her recently," she said.
In the end, the three of them looked at Luna curiously. It's because every student at the Magic Academy knew the Honorary Master Mage since he surpassed many records inside the Academy. In short, he was the idol of the many.
"Uhm, it's a long story that I can't just disclose to everyone. It's his order," Luna said.
Of course, the last one was a lie to stop them from asking any further.
"And giving his last name already to this youthful lady. How sweet," Ashley said.
Luna was taking a look at the room when her ears picked it up and suddenly went frozen. This was why her given last name would be scandalous even though nobody would dare point it out in front of the fearsome Honorary Master Mage.
"That's not what you think it is. Our relationship is purely that of master and a student," she said.
"As you say so," Lisha said.
"Let's sit first though if you have more to ask," Sylvette said.
She took Luna's luggage to the side and they sat on the couch. Luna was facing the two of them with Sylvette on her side.
"By the way is Noir your real name?" Ashley said.
Luna shook her head. "A-, Master Akiro recommended me to have a second name," she said.
She almost slapped her cheek after forgetting that she wasn't supposed to say his name without honorifics in front of others.
Then, the two of them looked with curious glances and even though she couldn't see Sylvette's face, her silence also meant that she's interested in their topic of discussion.
"Why? Is there any meaning in that name?" Luna said.
"Hmm, it's just unusual for them to also give a second name though I think the name describes you," Ashley said.
Then, Sylvette looked at her with a smile.
"She's right. Noir means the color black. Your deep dark eyes and hair as dark as the sky suited that name. It's unusual in Vermillion to have the traits of both deep black for one's eyes and hair," Sylvette said.
"And our Honorary Master Mage is also one. If not for your different facial features, I would have thought that you're his sister after hearing your introduction," Lisha said.
Luna didn't ask if he any siblings as they would ask again why she didn't know much info about him.
"He didn't have any siblings though, at least that's what we know," Ashley said.
'Well, here's the answer,' Luna thought.
"Anyway, I think the new students need to attend the ceremony during this time of the day," Sylvette said.
"What event?" Luna said.
The headmaster didn't state anything about it. All he said was to find a roommate. She completely forgot that they should be giving their schedules!
Ashley laughed lightly. "Get used to it Luna. Sometimes, they really didn't announce anything to the new students. They will only come to hear about it from the older students," she said.
Luna noticed that they should be forming connections for now. Being by yourself was limiting the amount of information you could get. From this alone, she could see the instructor's schemes and tests.
'Your everyday life here counts as a test,' Luna thought.
For now, the three persons in front of her were enough. She felt fortunate that Sylvette met her that day.
'Making friends will be nice especially if I want to dominate the whole school in a single year,' Luna thought.
"Don't think too much. I think you will do well in the ceremony," Sylvette said.
Though it wasn't what she's thinking. Her powers were good enough for a rookies' tests.
The three of them looked excitedly and Ashley pulled Luna to stand up.
Her energetic nature reminded Luna of Ryle.
"I'm excited to see your abilities! And don't tell us anything about it. We want to be surprised!" Ashley said.
Lisha and Sylvette just smiled at Luna because of Ashley who decided for themselves.
The three of them went downstairs and left the gray castle. The others seemed to learn about it too and the news spread quickly.
"See? The others have just learned about it too," Ashley said.
They walked into an open place. The place was filled with people holding notebooks in their hands and one big stage was at the center.
"Here we are, where the new students get classified according to their abilities," Sylvette said.
Upon seeing this scene, Luna felt her heart tightened, not because she was scared but it was because she's very eager to start immediately that her flames seemed to radiate strongly inside her.
