Luna isn't just a simple girl. Others might perceive her as such but this book smart person is hiding something deep in her mind. She promised to hide it forever and lived as a normal person would but some force didn't want to waste such talent. One unlucky day, she found herself in a mysterious place untouched by the modern stuff she's familiar with. The people wear weird clothes, the houses looked old-style, and everything is so simple. It might look simple on the surface but that world had always been full of mysteries hidden deep within and waiting to be found. The place is just like her. She did her best to keep her secrets but the longer she lived there, the harder it is to hide her secrets in the dark. "There's no helping it, let's just embrace the truth," she uttered. "Keep it easy, young lady," a man in his deep, cold voice appeared behind. "Alright" "B-but get away from me" ------ Daily updates
Luna carefully observed the six shining pale-colored jewels inside a small gray wooden chest with intricate tiny silver ornaments along the sides. The colors of the jewels were yellow, purple, red, blue, white, and the other one was a multi-colored jewel.
"These are the best ones we have. It was carved from the snowy mountain's magic ores. As you belong to a healer class, the yellow or white one will be the best. And this multi-colored one is suitable for every class. You can take your time choosing Lady Mendelevinn. Ask any questions if you have," he said.
"Can I touch it?" Luna asked.
She could guess the compatibility of the jewels by touching them. He recommended the white and yellow color because she was a healer but her powers were not that similar to other healers. The strong white flames she had made the huge gap between her and normal healer but that wouldn't stop her to show her class' significance.
The man nodded earnestly. Usually, he wouldn't let them even if they were capable of buying it but it was the only student of the great Honorary Master Mage he's talking about. One could easily guess how close the master and student just seeing how close their age was.
"You can, you can!" he uttered.
Luna eyed him for a second and slowly smiled. She knew if a businessman was currying favor to a person with some powerful backing. It was not new to her but she quickly erased it in her head as she didn't want to reminisce the awful memories she had of the Cordovan family except for her mother.
'I should just check it already.' Luna thought, pertaining to the jewels.
She took the jewels one by one with being the yellow and white ones as the first. A magic's warmth enveloped her when her magic began to flow through her veins. Somehow, all of them were compatible with her and it seemed that she could use all the jewels to their full potential especially the multi-colored one.
'Oh? What am I seeing? Is this a sign?' Luna thought.
She unconsciously shook her leather coin purse along with it and wondered if the amount would be enough.
The man saw her action. The pocket seemed to be full but he assumed that it was silver coins. "Lady Mendelevinn, if you want, we can send a letter to your guardian to pay for you. It's what the other nobles do when they lack some pocket money," he said.
Luna hastily shook her head. 'If you still love your life, don't ever write him a letter for this simple reason. I didn't even know how he reacted to my previous incident! And he is not called up to come to school yet or he declined which I will be glad to,' she thought.
Moreover, giving her an unlimited stock of coins might be to avoid sending him such kind of letters. She suddenly nodded upon her opinions.
'Right, it may be and he will not make me pay for all the coins I spent in the future!' Luna thought.
Then she placed the coin purse above the counter.
"I want to buy all of it. Is it possible or there is a limit to how much we can buy?" Luna said.
The man widened his eyes in shock and suddenly thought if he cleaned his ears today. It was possible that other students could afford it all but it was sure that they would not spend a fortune for a jewel that would not fit their class.
"Are you sure young lady? I-" he was interrupted.
Luna's squinted dark eyes met him. "Do I really have to explain?" she uttered.
Sometimes, it was not good to peek into some people's matters. Their magic element's secrets were not something to exclaim in front of everyone.
The old man went stunned and shook his head. "This would be a total of 70 gold coins. The multi-colored jewel costs 20 gold coins while the others were 10 gold each. They were the same sizes and each one can be placed into two to three magic accessories. You can buy the chest if you want to," he said.
Luna shook her head and said, "No need. I have a spare purse and where are the rings?"
He opened the plain red thick cloth beside the small chest. Ten pieces of intricately designed golden and silver rings laid bare on the cloth. He looked at her with an uneasy smile. The lady's glare earlier seemed to dissipate his soul.
"These are the highest quality we currently have that are made by one of the best craftsmen in Magus Nation. As it was quite far in North Village, this was all we could get. Feel free to choose," he said.
This time Luna didn't bother to check it with magic as the rings' quality was not related to one's magic element. The only thing she needed some high-quality rings were to match the jewels she bought. It was stated in a certain book that a magic item would not last long if the jewel and accessory weren't compatible with each other.
Her fingers pointed towards a golden ring at the center and two silver rings at its side. "I want these three for now," she said.
As long as Luna had high-quality jewels, she could buy any accessory she wanted anytime. For now, she only needed three of it, and buying more would just be a waste.
"That will be 9 golden coins. It's three golden coins each. You have 79 gold coins to pay," he said.
Luna opened her pocket and counted each coin with ease. While doing that, the old man didn't expect to see a staggering amount of money in her pocket.
'Who among other students will casually bring that much money in them?!' he thought.
Even the senior customers he had didn't dare bring huge amounts of gold coins outside to avoid being stolen by others especially to their enemies inside the academy.
'Still a new student indeed,' he thought.
Luna placed all of it in an empty pocket and hid it inside her leather bag which the potions she bought were also inside.
"Come back again!" The woman said.
Luna didn't say anything and went outside the shop. Upon stepping outside, some tall men and women at the back surrounded her.
"Oh, I heard this young lady is rich. Inside the academy, any guardian will not be able to do anything! Ahahahah!" The tall man said.
'Tsk, some trouble again. Did that madam caused this?' Luna thought.
"Move," she said.
The man couldn't hold back his laughter and others followed.
Her hands formed her pocket watch but summoned her white flames in her other hands first to intimidate her enemies.
'I'm sure that I can be penalized if the store behind me will get caught of my white flames!' Luna thought.
As soon as time stopped, she took the opportunity to escape. It was good that there was enough space in between them to avoid touching their bodies as it would make them move again.
"Bye, I don't have some spare time for childish fights!" Luna said.
She then hurried to go back to the castle where no one would bother with her inside her room.
