Main character's parents must die

"Why do the main character's parents often get the short end of the stick?" That is what Mila asked while looking up at the sky. She was grumbling toward whoever sent her inside the novel she read before she died. She becomes the mother of the main character, whose parents are both dead. Mila's character was merely a tool for the MC's character development. It's a simple, fix-all solution. The author wanted to make the audience instantly sympathetic towards the main character, and the best thing he did was to have the MC's parents die. After she avoided her death in the original plot, death flags kept coming for her. Will the original plot not end if she's not dead? .... proofreader: Aserehtam

"What will happen to Esclamado?"

"Hurry, seal the dragon!" Duke Romero shouted, but the five mages who appeared from the teleportation circle had a sinister look on their faces. The mages walked toward the duke slowly, as if there was no urgency to their service.

"What are you all doing?" Robert felt strange about the mages' behavior and shielded the mages from them.

"Too bad. Having your son awaken is not a good thing." A mage said that at the same time, they formed multiple circles around the duke and his people.

"Heat?" Robert looks down at the bright orange circle that is lighting up the ground.

"Everyone run!" Robert shouted and carried the duke on his shoulder again, as if he were carrying a sack of rice.

BOOM!

BOOM!

AAAAAAAH!

The magic circles keep exploding, blasting some of the servant's body. Robert managed to get away, but they almost got a blast off. Fortunately, they had an aura and thick armor.

"What the hell are you do-" Robert cannot finish his words because he needs to avoid another explosion.

Boom!

The moment he landed on the ground, he was already surrounded by multiple magic circles.

Robert was about to throw the duke off him to at least save Romero, but Romero held tightly to his armor.

"Duke! You need to be saved!" Robert shouted while trying to shake the duke away from him.

However, Romero stubbornly holds onto Robert's armor while Romero's aura is leaking out of his body. The upside-down head of the duke turned red and he burst out of his aura even more while shouting, "We are going to leave the duchy to you, Robert!"

"W-what? Don't be ridi-"

BOOM!

Robert cannot continue saying what he was about to say after his vision turns red, accompanied by the loud sound of an explosion.

Robert was blinded for a moment and remained standing while waiting for his vision to recover.

"D-duke?" Robert tapped Romero, who was still on Robert's shoulder. "P-please be fine." Robert started to tremble as he could not feel the duke's breathing anymore. He could feel the duke's body feeling lighter and warm liquid was slowly flowing out of it.

"W-what happened?" Robert croakily asked while he slowly moved his feet forward. His vision was not back yet and he could not hear anyone around him.

Thud!

Robert tripped and fell into a puddle.

He hurriedly got up and felt strange about the puddle he fell into.

"This familiar smell? Is this blood?" He guessed while his face and entire body were soaked with the liquid he fell into.

He didn't have much time to wonder what the liquid was and hurriedly picked up the lifeless body of the duke.

"I need my vision back!" he exasperatedly shouted, as he wanted to hurry and take the duke to a doctor.

"Sir Robert!"

Clang!

Robert pointed his sword by reflex because he didn't recognize the voice. He could also hear a lot of footsteps surrounding him.

Anxiously, Robert activates his aura and prepares to fight without vision.

"Bastard! You can't kill me!" Roberto shouted. He can't believe that the duchy's enemies took this opportunity to harm them. They already had a lot on their hands by just dealing with the dragon, and now they have to face an ambush from the magic tower.

"It's us! Mages from the magic tower!" The man introduced his group and was not showing hostility, but Robert kept his guard up and swung his sword whenever anyone came close to him.

"This is treason!" Robert exclaimed, but he flinched when he heard one of the mage's reports.

"Sir, there are five corpses here wearing our tower's uniform!"

"Who are these impostors? Don't tell me?" The mage that seemed to be the leader of the magicians gasped for a moment before he approached Robert again. "Did these five impostors try to pose as members of magic tower?"

"What are you all trying to do? Don't fucking play with me!" Robert didn't want to hear the mages' excuses, and he aimlessly charged forward to where he could hear a sound and attack with his aura and sword.

Bang!

Thud!

Of course, Robert was quickly taken down.

Five mages tried to hold his body down, and one touched his eyes and healed it.

"Bastard, let go of me!" Robert flailed and screamed trying to escape, but he soon calmed down once his vision returned.

An all-white person appeared in his vision, looking down at him.

Yes, an all-white person.

The leader of the mages has snow white hair, porcelain white skin, pure white clothes, and white eyes that are almost mistaken for not having an iris because of their whiteness. Literally, everything around him is white.

Robert calms down because this mage is a friend of Mila.

Marquis Greyson Dwight

"What happened here, Sir Robert?" Greyson calmly asked as he supported Robert to sit up.

"Those mages, they cast explosive spells the moment they appeared." Robert responded while he massaged his head. He still felt dizzy from everything that happened to him, but he jolted up when he remembered his lord.

"Duke!" he hurriedly crawled toward the duke's lifeless, bloodied body. Robert was frozen after seeing the tragic ending of the Duke's life.

It was like Romero's body exploded from the inside.

Romero chose to sacrifice himself to save Robert alone.

The five mages and their remaining knights exploded with Romero, who created another set of field of blood.

But Robert was not given a chance to grieve. The ground trembled again and a loud roaring could be heard in the forest near to their location.

ROAR!

"The dragon is back again here!" Robert shouted while looking up at the silhouette of the dragon in the forest. "Then what happened to Mila?"

Robert stiffened and fear came into his system.

Robert could hear his surroundings becoming noisier and more chaotic as they prepared to seal the dragon, but he remained frozen. He doesn't know what to do anymore now that the Duke and Duchess are both gone.

"What will happen to Esclamado?"
