Finishing the Mob

He too wanted to be a brave man and turn the tides in oceans, and make flames obey him, so he thought that he had said too much when he pleaded to God. So he changed the sentence.

'God, just let me survive this ordeal and I'll be a good boy!'

As soon as he finished his pleading, the chamber went silent. The goblins didn't make any sounds, nor did they throw any weapons at him. He slowly lifted his head and looked at the mob and a glistening smile appeared on his face.

"The God has heard me. The god has heard me. Now," Alphonse confidence was renewed seeing the trapped goblins without any weapon on hand. He prostrated his butt towards the sweating goblins and patted it with his palm showing a teasing face,

"Why don't you attack me now, you dumb beasts!"

Oslo from behind patted Alphonse' shoulder and said with a smile, "You sure are a reliable shield!"

"What?" His face turned red in anger,"What if I had died because of that? Huh?"

"I would've taken that armor of yours!"

"You evil creature. You are more evil than goblins." Alphonse cried, "Have you ever heard of the term 'Respect for Dead' ?"

Oslo squinted his eyes as from the corner of his eyes he saw the adult green figure emerge out of the fiery wall with a long saber in its hand. It seemed that the fire was burning its body but the goblin showed no sign of any response from getting burned like that. It truly had fought through ups and downs.

With a blow of its breathe, it put out the fire burning its skin and looked at Oslo with its murderous eyes as it had finally discovered the perpetrator for the fire. Alphonse seeing that Oslo's eyes were focused on somewhere else felt a chill run through his spine. He slowly turned his head back as if too see what really was behind him that caused Oslo's face to turn grim.

Although he had already guessed what was behind him but when he turned his head, he jumped in surprise.

"Eeeeeeeek!"

Scared out of his wits, he gulped his dry saliva and hid behind Oslo like a cat scared of water. Oslo frowned as he hadn't expected hob goblin to not fear the flames.

"He is an evolved creature after all!" He muttered as he glanced at the dagger on his hand.

Oslo then looked at Alphonse who was hiding behind his back with a pale face and said, "You with the dagger finish all those goblins I've trapped on that wall of flame and I'll fight with that sword of yours."

"But..."

"Any problem?" Oslo gave a look of a villain in movies robbing a commoner of their belongings. Alphonse vigorously shook his head as Oslo took it off his waist and handed him the dagger on his hand.

"Take care of those goblins!" Oslo said and unsheathed the sword from the scabbard.

With a lustrous shine, it shone even without fusing any mana in it. It was sharp and well crafted sword. The blacksmith must have used some good materials for crafting this sword, Oslo thought.

Oslo swung the sword at the hob goblin which was abruptly stopped by the long saber on its hand. In terms of brute strength, hob goblin was definitely better than Oslo and he felt it when their weapons clashed.

Clangggg~

The sword in his hand still vibrated even when he took back the sword in an instant. Because of the backlash, his hands were shaking like crazy along with the sword on his hands. Both his hands had gone numb.

"Shie-"

With his immediate reflex, he barely dodged the strike of the saber that followed after the first clash. The saber slice was strong enough to slice his body in half like a butter. He couldn't even finish his cursing and more slices like that followed the first like a barrage of attacks.

Stab-

While trying to slice Oslo in half, the saber of hob goblin got unnaturally stuck in the ground.Hob goblin tried to pull out its weapon but Oslo wasn't the one to let go of the openings.

Slice-

One hand of the Hob goblin was sent flying across the air for some seconds before returning to the ground again. It cried out in pain and the eyes it had were filled with rage. A murderous rage.

"Shrieekkkkkkk!"

With a painful heave, it pulled the saber out of the ground with its left hand and stared wantonly slashing at Oslo. The slashes were stronger than the previous ones as each slashed created a blade of wind which made him gasp as he barely dodged them.

If just the tip of the saber touched his neck, his head would be flying in the air like a newborn bird just to meet the ground and would die just like that. He used his Mana and covered the blade of the sword in subtle green light.

Pang~

As their weapon clashed, it made a loud noise which shook the air in the surrounding. But this time, the backlash didn't just stop at his hands shaking and he rolled in ground because of the pain for a moment before immediately standing up and guarding another slash of the fearsome saber, which made him step back.

Pang~

Pang~

Pang~

With every clash, the muscles in his hand shook to the core. Even with the Mana fused sword, Oslo couldn't even make a scratch on Hob goblin's saber.

'I didn't want to use it but with magic beasts, I don't have to play fair. Especially for goblins like them.' Oslo thought. Even if it was a fair fight or not, if things kept dragging on like this, he was bound to lose the battle. And losing the battle meant death.

He wasn't planning on dying anything soon!

Little portion of his Mana turned into a greenish fireball hitting the monster's face as he stepped back lightly. It's eyes were burnt and destroyed by the fireball when it exploded right on it's face.

"Shriekkkkk!"

With another painful cry, it wantonly slashed it's saber around. Even though its eyes were destroyed and he couldn't see the murderous gaze anymore, he could guess how greatly it hated him now. But it didn't matter, this goblin was going to die anyway.

With its eyes burnt, the way it swung its saber became even wilder. It was magic beast after all, even with many fighting experience and monstrous strength, it had no skills to back them up and this was what led to its downfall.

Bang~ Dang~ Dang~

With ferocity it swung its saber at every possible direction but to no avail, without eyesight it was just rampaging here and there without any aim and target.

Slash~

Another arm of Hob goblin was cut off by Oslo's sword. The saber it had in it's hand stabbed in the ground and stood erect where as it rolled in the ground groaning in pain.

It didn't have any eyesight, it had lost both of its arm and it was also going to lose its life, the face it made while crying was miserable.

"Shriekkkkk!"

It cried for help but none of its kind came for its rescue. Oslo then took the saber and gazed at the blade with admiration, "Good weapon. It will make a fine weapon for a battle against magic beasts."

'But why do always the magic beasts have the good weapons?' Oslo sighed with emotion as he held the long saber.

It might not be that good but it wasn't that bad either. Compared to the sword he held of Alphonse, it was very sharp and sturdy and it looked badass to carry as well. Oslo's eyes lit up for the thought of making it his new weapon.

He then sheathed the sword but unfortunately the saber had no scabbard so he had to carry it in hand. Oslo ignoring the Hob goblin for a while focused on Alphonse who had shattered all his expectations.

Only three goblins were the remaining ones alive when he focused on those goblins and looked at their aura. He was satisfied with the courage Alphonse had mustered to kill all those goblins even if they were trapped by the wall of flames because it was an improvement as compared to back when he crawled back just from seeing the face of the goblin.

What's more, Alphonse' style of killing the goblins was a bit unique than his. His lips were twitching when he saw that work again and again.

Alphonse was teasing the goblins by showing them his butt and patting his butt cheeks which surprisingly really triggered them... it really triggered them to the point that they were jumping out of the wall of flame just to rip him apart. But the truth was bitter.

It was them who would end up dying by the blades of dagger the moment they jumped out.

And what was even more heart twitching was that it was working again and again and again with no sign of stopping. The goblins even when they saw their friends getting killed because of that jumped out of the fiery wall to shred this idiot to pieces. They just didn't want to be teased by this sorry man who didn't even look scary as compared to the demon who controlled the green flames.

Slash-

With another slash, all the smaller goblins were dead. Alphonse gasped and let out a heavy breathe as he fell down on his knees.

"It's done..."

He couldn't believe that he had completed his work. But his believing didn't matter because it was really done. He had killed all the goblins he was asked of.

"Good job.You did well!" Oslo said as he patted Alphonse' shoulder.

"Here take your sword."

Seeing his sword again, he happily took it as he gave the dagger back to Oslo. With the dagger in hand, he again diverted his eyes onto the Hob goblin which was rolling in the ground. Slowly walking to the Hob goblin, he crouched beside it.

Stab-

The dagger stabbed through the heart of rolling goblin relieving it out of its misery. As he pulled the dagger out green blood dripped off the dagger.

[Ordinary Magic Beast (Rank D) Hob goblin killed. No magic core obtained.]

Oslo stood up and looked at the seven captives which were now dead and pondered while watching the room filled with corpses of both goblins and humans so as to make a decision.

Whether to go to the boss room or not? He had already finished clearing the mob after all.
