Normal Child

A few hours later, Headmaster Na's eyes fluttered open, and he found himself lying in a shallow crater near the rubble of Ivan's destroyed house.

It was already night by the time he woke up.

The headmaster surveyed his surroundings before he spotted a young boy lying among the rubble.

Rushing over, the headmaster held the pale young boy in his arms and applied a Full Heal on Ivan's body.

Pure and condensed light elements gathered into a river of light, washing over Ivan.

The river water healed away his scars and bruises, returning color to his face.

Moments later, the 10-year-old child opened his eyes, and the headmaster no longer saw the god-defying person from before.

Ivan looked no different from a normal child.

Upon seeing the headmaster, Ivan asked, "Eh? Headmaster? What are you doing here?"

"Well, I was in the neighborhood when I heard several claps of thunder. Remembering that you were scared of thunderstorms since you were little, I decided to come over to accompany you." Headmaster Na lied.

"So that's it…Eh? Where…Where is my house?!" When Ivan got up with the help of the headmaster, he immediately noticed that his house had been turned into ruins. "What…what happened?"

"Ah, that…Yes, about that…" Cooking up a new story on the spot, the headmaster explained it in a regretful tone.

"On my way here from the bottom of the mountain, I found out that the cause of the thunderstorm just now was due to a high level thunder spirit causing mischief above your house."

The young boy widened his eyes in shock. "A thunder spirit?"

"Yes, I tried to tell it to go away but it wouldn't listen. In the end, the thunder spirit got annoyed by my pleading that it decided to blow up your house." [Headmaster Na]

"What a bad thunder spirit!" Ivan shouted, annoyance laced in his voice.

"Indeed, the thunder spirit was bad. Thankfully, I was able to save you from the thunder spirit's attack." The headmaster lightly sighed before continuing on. "On the flip side, due to my lack of ability, I couldn't save your house. For that, I'm deeply sorry."

To further make his story more believable, Headmaster Na actually bowed his head when apologizing.

In his defense, although he knew that lying was bad in general, Headmaster Na felt that protecting the child he was entrusted with was more important.

'Although the whole situation with Ivan fighting the giant hand was out of my expectations, the child's safety is more important. Mmmm, I will reveal this matter to him when he gets stronger later in the future.' The headmaster thought to himself.

Thinking that it must have something to do with the giant hand and the mysterious voice, Headmaster Na decided to keep the scene he saw just now a secret.

As for Ivan, he merely nodded his head absentmindedly at the headmaster's apology.

Although it was his parents who left the house to him, he didn't really find it that important as opposed to the dream he had just now.

From creating an iron sword to slaying a black dragon, Ivan could vividly remember each and every one of his dreams.

'What a wonderful dream I had! Not only could I jump super high to touch the clouds, I could also create a perfect iron sword with a sharp edge! Hehe, that black dragon was clearly not my match! Hahaha!'

Recalling the dream he just had, Ivan couldn't but let out a grin from ear to ear as he recalled his state of invincibility within the dream.

Besides that, within that dream of his, he experienced fighting a giant golden hand for a period of time before the dream ended abruptly with his vision going black.

'That giant hand though, damn was he powerful! But before I could finish him off, my wonderful dream had ended. Sad.'

5 minutes later...

Just as Ivan was deep in his daydreams, the headmaster had suddenly remembered something before calling out to his student. "Ivan?"

"Huh? Uh, yes?" Having his name suddenly called out, Ivan was quickly called back to reality.

"About Jumper Academy...have you thought about it?" [Headmaster Na]

"Jumper Academy? Oh, the school you showed me in your office." [Ivan]

"Yes, did you think it over?" [Headmaster Na]

"Think what over?" [Ivan]

"About whether you want to join the school or not...?" [Headmaster Na]

"Oh, yes yes yes...Right, the school. Yes, I have made my decision. I will join Jumper Academy." [Ivan]

"Really? Child, you've indeed made a good choice. One more thing, what made you decide to join Jumper Academy?" [Headmaster Na]

"Heh, my reason for joining Jumper Academy is simple. Once I graduate from the academy, I will hunt down that naughty thunder spirit before exacting my revenge on it for destroying my house!" Ivan declared proudly.

Upon hearing his student's reason, Headmaster Na didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Although he did say that a thunder spirit blew up his student's house, it was actually the doing of a giant hand.

But if he told Ivan that a giant golden hand had descended from the sky and destroyed his house, Ivan would have called his headmaster a lunatic.

Thus, the headmaster could only pray that a thunder spirit would take the fall for his lies or else the whole race of thunder spirits might just go extinct later on in the future.
