Chapter 28: Fruit
Elliot removed his hand from my face and turned toward his sibling, expression neutral. “You can’t be serious. Always so dramatic.” I remained frozen, staring at the gun.
Yujin started slowly moving forward, heavy boots echoing through the hall with a thunderous rhythm. They kept the gun fixed on their brother, eyes flashing with fury. “Touch her again, you’ll find out just how f*cking serious I am.”
Elliot tilted his chin up, soft eyes squinted in a look of subtle confusion. “I was only concerned for her latest injury. After all, I do have a responsibility to keep my people safe. You’d do best to keep an eye on your own crew, since you have obviously lost a handle on them.”
“She isn’t your people, she’s mine,” Yujin demanded, continuing their slow advance and filling the hall with the sound of heavy boots on tile. “And Sergio was a set up, there’s no way he was the one behind the attack.”
