Chapter 27: Exploration
When I woke up, I was alone and confused about what time it was. The sun hadn’t come up yet. Yujin and their pile of clothes were nowhere to be seen, but they had mentioned having an early day ahead of them. My work phone was still on the bedside table, but they had plugged it in for me while I was sleeping. I smiled at the gesture, joyed at the thought of them caring enough to go out of their way for me.
I checked the phone and saw several more messages from Elliot and one from a contact labeled Zaddy. I opened the latter and read a short message about meeting at five this evening to prepare for the service. That still gave me almost twelve hours to myself, more alone time than I’d had in a while.
