Chapter 19: The Belt
With preparations complete, Gia and I were ready to attend the event. She explained that we were attending a gallery opening where her work would be featured. “I can’t believe Yuyu never talks about his ridiculously talented big city artist sister, like what a f*cking waste, right?”
I laughed, nodding. “If I had a sister like that, I would tell everyone.”
Her eyes widened, looking almost hurt. “Um, you do have a sister like that, so blab away.” We got back into her car and sped down the street. “So I was thinking we give these looks a test spin before checking in with the sib. One drink, just to get that confidence up-” her words were cut short by a phone call coming in through the speaker from Yujin.
She answered innocently. “You’re awake, finally.”
“Where are you?” Their voice sounded half asleep and annoyed. “No one is here and her bag hasn’t been touched. I told you I wanted-”
