Chapter 18: Crown Up
Yujin stepped in our direction, having already changed into casual joggers and an oversized sweater. “I don’t want noodles. I want to go to bed.” They extended a long arm in my direction, motioning for me to come toward them.
I started to step in their direction, then Gia stepped in front of me and placed the food bags in their hand instead. “Thanks, I think I might have gone overboard with the order. But I wanted to make sure my new bestie got to try all their top dishes.” She linked arms with me and led me past her sibling toward the front door.
Yujin groaned and closed their eyes, holding the takeout bags in silence while we made our way inside. When they slowly followed us, I found myself impressed with the way their sister handled their interactions. If I had done something like that, I know it would have gone very differently.
