Chapter 14: Dreams
I let out a tired sigh, tugging at the seam of my dress to make sure everything is in the proper place. “They’re… resting.” I leaned against the wall across from the charming man, tilting my head down at him. “Shouldn’t you be out there celebrating?”
He laughed and shook his head. “What is there to celebrate? I was hoping to retire early.” He motioned at Yujin’s cabin door, starting to pick himself up from the floor. “I was more worried about how they took the announcement. I am well aware of how emotional they can be.” He squinted over at me once to his feet, staring at my neck.
I remembered what was likely a sprawling hickey on my neck, raising a hand to cover it in a meek gesture. I stared down at the floor and shifted uncomfortably. He let out a quiet laugh, shaking his head. “I did not mean to embarrass you, apologies.”
I shook my head, venturing a glance in his direction. “Can I… ask you something?”
