[8 In the hospital]
Ethan Han frowned and his eyes became colder. However, Han Yijun did not see his darkening face and continued without a second thought, "He did it two years ago! Didn't grandpa tell you?" Han Yijun feigned ignorance.
"Heh!" Ethan Han sneered.
The little petty tricks of this kid were so easy to see through; his provocations were transparent to Ethan. He suspected that his father had orchestrated this the day he was abandoned outside the Han Residence. Now, confirmed by Han Yijin, his resentment towards them grew even more.
Seeing Ethan nonchalant, Yijun frowned. In their childhood this would have been enough to turn Ethan agitated. This Ethan was too calm!
"I thought you already knew!" Han Yijun added while staring at Ethan and tried to see if he was feigning indifference. But Ethan's lack of reaction was bound to make him disappointed.
"Tsk! You have changed… you are so weird now… like a psychopath," Han Yijun put his hands inside his pants' pockets and turned to leave.
Ethan stood in silence and stared at Han Yijun. He knew being removed from the genealogy meant that he was no longer considered part of the Han family and was no longer eligible for any inheritance. But he had already anticipated such a move from his father and had prepared himself for it.
Before Han Yijun could leave Ethan's room, a force suddenly came from behind. It directly threw the annoying youngster on the corridor.
"Ahh!" Han Yijun screamed. He was flabbergasted by the sudden attack and lifted his face from the floor, only to discover that his nose was bleeding.
"Don't come to annoy me in the future. Next time it won't be just your nose that will break," Ethan Han stood before Yijun and looked down at him on the floor.
"How dare you beat me?! You bastard! Now, I get why Dad abandoned you!" Yijun cursed aloud. Ethan smiled evilly. He picked him up and threw him further where a bunch of bodyguards caught Han Yijun.
"Throw him out. He's not allowed here!"
"Yes sir!" A bunch of bodyguards carried him like a roasted pig on a pole!
"Put me down! How dare you lowlives touch me?!... PUT ME DOWN! AHHH!..."
However, nobody listened to him and carried him outside.
Lu Mei saw them carrying Yijun. She was so scared she fell on the ground.
"My son! Where are you taking my son?!"
The bodyguards were aggressive. They were angered by Han Yijun's offensive remarks towards their Boss. When they saw Lu Mei all of them gave her, the evil stepmother, cold looks enough to melt the glacier.
Lu Mei trembled and saw Han Yijun being carried in the first villa where Han Boyaung and, Lu Mei lived.
They directly threw him on ye doorsteps and warned aggressively, "don't annoy our boss! Or else..."
They made a killing sign and left with equal aggression. Han Yijun was never treated like this.
Lu Mei hurriedly came over as the bodyguards left. "Son! Are you alright?! Did they beat you?!"
"It's that Ethan! That monster! He hates me, mom! Look, my nose! He broke it!"
Lu Mei saw Han Yijun's bruised nose but it was not bad of an injury. But that was enough to make her afraid.
"He's a thug! Wait for your dad to come!" She supported him to get inside the villa and couldn't help but grit her teeth. She had witnessed how even her husband was helpless against Ethan. She doubted he would do something when the old man protects Ethan.
'He's old enough. Why hasn't he died yet?!' she had an ugly expression. The servants were scared to approach seeing her like this.
…
Ethan Han sat on the sofa in silence. His emotions were hidden behind a mask of calmness. Even though he did not care about any genealogy, it still left a scratch behind. No son could tolerate being removed from their own family tree by their own father.
But he would not tolerate anything in silence. He preferred to make them regret their whole life.
The next thing, he went to play in Han Corporation and became the General Manager of HR. Also, irritating his sperm donor from time to time had become his favourite pastime!
(Two months later…) Back to the present.
In a VIP room of a renowned hospital.
Han Boyaung was on a hospital bed, looking visibly sorry and exhausted. Upon seeing his secretary enter, he hastily removed his oxygen mask and inquired, "What did Father say? Is he coming?"
"The president's response... it was just a 'hmm,'" Secretary Fan answered awkwardly.
"What? Hmm? Only hmm? Did he not say anything about visiting me?!"
After a brief pause, the secretary reluctantly shared, "He... Your father declined to visit you in the hospital."
It was out of his expectation that the old man would be so calm after hearing the news of his son's hospitalisation and would not be bothered about meeting him, once, at all.
Han Boyaung put back the mask and took a deep breath.
From the side, his wife, Lu Mei, wiped away invisible tears. After hearing the news of her husband's hospitalization, she rushed from the neighboring city where she had gone to relax with her friends. However, upon noticing that the man seemed to be fine, she felt relieved yet annoyed.
To convey her concern for him, she wiped her cheeks from time to time, careful not to ruin her makeup. Her cat-like eyes, brimming with tears, were enough to evoke sympathy from those around her.
"After Ethan came back from abroad, Father has changed a lot," Lu Mei covered half of her face and added with grievance, "Husband, the way things are unfolding, I am worried about our Xiao Jun. What will happen to him if Father gives Ethan his own share of the shares?!"
"Don't cry, Lu Mei! You are making me more anxious!" Han Boyaung felt like he might genuinely have a heart attack at this moment.
Unnoticed by anyone, Lu Mei sneered. She clenched her handkerchief, and with feigned concern, she looked at her husband and added, "Sorry! I should not have brought up this matter. Let's not talk about it now. Your health comes first."
'Until my son gets settled down you can not have any mishaps!' She needed assurance that nothing would go wrong!
Han Boyaung let out a deep sigh, and nobody spoke after that. Lu Mei stayed in the room for a while longer, watching her husband as he drifted off to sleep. When she was satisfied that he was resting peacefully, she stood up and gestured to Secretary Fan to follow her out of the room.
Before they left, Lu Mei assigned a nurse to watch over Han Boyaung. Once they had walked a distance away, she stopped and looked at him.
"Han Fan, where is Xiao Jun? Why hasn't he come yet? Didn't you inform him about Boyaung's situation?" Lu Mei asked with irritation. She was upset that her son was absent at such a critical moment.
"Madam, he's in Hawaii," Secretary Fan replied politely.
"Tell him to come back! That brat will snatch everything from him one day if he continues his unruly behavior. He's giving me nothing but headaches!" Lu Mei's cat-like eyes flashed with anger as she spoke.
"Yes," Secretary Fan replied, observing her wearing oversized sunglasses.
With a posture resembling an elegant swan, she strolled away, revealing her exposed back. As he watched her disappearing silhouette, he clenched his fists momentarily. Soon, regaining composure, he donned a professional smile and returned to Han Corporation.
…
In the evening, at the garden.
Han Erlang stayed silent as he saw Ethan Han watering his plants. Watching this, he felt nostalgic. Those old days were gone, now his little grandson had become a big handsome man.
Approaching Ethan Han with the aid of his cane, he inquired, "Have you planted any trees abroad?"
"No." Ethan Han replied curtly. He was too busy trading firearms and buying mines. Planting trees like his grandpa, he did not have such hobbies.
Han Erlang shook his head with a sigh as he could guess this young man's personality. Right that moment Butler Chen, who was the caretaker of the building where Han Erlang stayed separately, arrived beside them.
He bowed to Han Erlang and whispered something besides the old man's ear. Han Erlang nodded and right after Butler Chen went back inside the building. Ethan Han glanced sideways and indifferently saw them.
After a while, Butler Chen came back with a chequebook and a pen. Ethan Han watched his grandpa sign on a paper in silence. The old man looked at him and asked, "Want to deliver it for grandpa?"
"What is it?" Ethan asked while his eyes glanced at the torn cheque.
"Send it to Ming City No.1 Orphanage." Han Erlang said, his eyes curled up into a smile as he saw him taking the paper from Butler Chen's hand.
"Grandpa, is it that…?" Ethan Han asked doubtfully as he wanted to make sure of something.
However, the old man ignored his question, turned around and with the help of Butler Chen, he went inside the villa.
"Grand… grandpa…" Ethan called out but both old men ignored him. He looked down on the cheque for a long time and tightened his hold further.
