Chapter 25
Suddenly a punch landed on the guy's face and he stumbled back covering his nose.
"What the hell ,now you are misbehaving with the girls on the campus .May be the warnings from last time did not teach you anything,"Hudson was fuming.
As soon as he entered the scene in front of him was a guy forcing himself on Adele, he lost his temper and immediately ran toward her .
"I will kill you ..,"the guy trailed off noticing it was none other than Hudson in front of him.
Offending Hudson was a serious crime ,everyone in the campus was aware of it .Even teachers and staff too respected Hudson because of his family's name and power .Hudson's father pampered his son and couldn't let anyone trouble him.
Since Hudson's family owned lot of companies most of other students families worked under them. If the students decided to go against Hudson then their parents have to suffer the aftermath.
As the guy looked at Hudson and Adele , something clicked in his mind.
"Hey man,I am sorry .I didn't know that you two were … ,"he sighed.
"It's not me whom you should apologize ,"Hudson's jaw clenched.
"Sorry ,Adele .Forgive me for being ignorant ,"he apologized.
His apology was more because of fear and not because of guilt.
"Get lost from my sight ,"Hudson yelled and the guy ran there as if his life depended on it.
"Are you okay ,why were you alone at the backstage ,"Hudson checked her from head to toe.
"I'm fine .I was just wandering ,"Adele shivered remembering how helpless she left few minutes back.
"I'm glad you came ,"Adele thanked him.
As they came out all the students were gathered and they could easily guess what happened.
They felt pity for Adele but more than that they were shocked by Hudson's protective nature .Sure he was a gentleman but he never interfered in such things and most importantly he never lost his cool.
The same thought was running in everyone's mind ,that is did Hudson finally lost his heart to this innocent beauty .
"Thank god you are safe ,"Zoey rushed towards Adele's side.
"Take her with you, "Hudson stated.
Zoey nodded and took Adele to an empty classroom so that she could be alone for some time.
"Have some water and rest a bit,"Zoey passed a water bottle.
Adele was shaken up as it took some time for her to get back to normal.
A week had passed and one fine Friday afternoon Dante texted her that he was waiting for her at the college gate.
He rarely texted her , in fact for a week they had no contact. It had become a common occurrence for them to act like strangers when they are out of sight to one other. As always seeing his name of the screen made her heart flutter and toes curled up.
Luckily her class had also ended and she did not even have work today .She climbed his car and as expected there was not a word from him.
"We are going to a movie premium, "Dante replied once they have crossed the busy streets.
At this point Adele knew it was pointless to ask how he obtained the tickets, it seems with his connection it seems like a child's play. They entered through the VIP gate and were pointed towards the balcony seats.
As they sat down Adele's eyes went to the people sitting next to hers, their polished and graceful aura make her feel conscious for a second and she straightened her dress and brushed her hair through her fingers to look presentable.
"Where are you lost, the movie has started, "Dante pointed towards the screen.
Adele had watched the trailer of this movie upon Myra's insistence. It was a highly talked about movie as not only the cast and crew were popular but also the four times award winning director was resuming work after a long break.
The movie was not about romance but of love. People often mistake the two, romance was the big gestures, snappy and bilgy things while love was hidden in silence, finding joy and beauty in mundane things.
The visualization of the movie was so eye-catching that sometimes Adele found it astonishing that such places do exists .she was so immersed in the movie that she did not notice when she had placed her hand on Dante's.
Dante also did not bother to say anything .Then played a scene where the male lead crosses the bridge in the heavy rain to come to female lead's house because she was afraid of thunderstorms.
Adele could not help but squealed internally at the scene and squeezed her head only to realize that she was holding Dante's hand. Adele turned towards Dante to apologize but his gaze silenced her every word.
He was looking at her so intensely as if trying to look into her soul, his dark mysterious eyes held nothing but desire making her gulp in fear. When he looked at her like this she felt like wanting to hide away from him.
She was still not sure whether his attention trilled or terrified her. Adele slowly removed her hand and murmured an apology.
Even when Adele turned back to the screen Dante was looking at her. Adele was fidgeting with her fingers and thinking how his touch made her feel as if her whole body is on fire.
Fortunately they were interrupted by a staff member asking if they need any drinks.
"Water is fine,"Adele replied. Dante took the bottle uncapped it and passed to Adele.
"Are you enjoying the movie,"Dante asked.
"Yes and you,"Adele questioned.
"Very much,"Dante's pupils delighted as he spoke.
Adele could easily guess that he was not talking about the movie .She lowered her head hoping her face did not display her emotions.
The ending was a bittersweet one the leads achieved their goals, fulfilled their dreams but did not end up together .
