Monthly Battle for the Rankings (5)

Mu Yue no longer received any challenges from the other rankers at the top 10. They were busy defending their positions, and after they finish a fight, they will be exhausted. Even if they had the time to rest, they will not be able to regain the strength they needed to defeat Mu Yue.

They knew that Mu Yue has higher cultivation than them and anyone who challenged her will end up in a bad state. They have seen the guy that gave it his all and how he got targeted by those rankers below the top 10. They do not wish to pave the way for others and concentrated on keeping their positions.

The same happened to Xiao Yan. Who would even try to fight someone that has an advantage of 3 levels of cultivation? They set their eyes towards the third place which Li Jie occupies. One student tried to defeat him only to get beaten up badly. He then got targeted by the crowd.

There were a lot of students who reached the Initial level 4th step Qi Condensation. Some of them only see the cultivation as the basis of combat capability. Seeing Fei Hong and Jun Qing occupying two spots in the top 10, they decided to challenge the two.

Fei Hong was challenged and got exhausted by the fights. His last opponent for the fourth battle won because of this. The same thing should have happened to Jun Qing but he decided to lose to the second battle.

Jun Qing dropped below the top 10 and kept a low profile. Just before the event ended, he challenged someone in the top 10 and won. He used a lot of his strength to make sure that he would win the fight. It didn't matter if he was exhausted as no one could challenge him because of the rules.

Liu Yang and Wang Yong copied what Jun Qing did and managed to enter the top 10. Even if they have lower cultivation than their opponents, as special class students, they have their own tricks under their sleeve.

Li Jie challenged Mu Yue for the last battle. He had already recovered from the fight with Xiao Yan. Because they will fight for the last battle, they both decided to give it their all.

Xiao Yan wasn't worried that Mu Yue will lose. Because Mu Yue was not targeted by the others, she still has a decent amount of spiritual energy left. Xiao Yan was confident that Mu Yue will win the fight.

Mu Yue and Jin Qing face each other. They both dashed towards each other when the battle began. They first started with normal attacks, to try and guess the other party's capabilities.

Mu Yue slowly starts using her sword skills. In the beginning, Li Jie only thought that Mu Yue was changing her attack patterns when he suddenly got struck by an attack. An attack is not threatening to him and can easily be blocked by the spiritual energy that covers his body. What he was worried about was if he kept getting hit, it will eventually add up and will be fatal.

"Heavy Slash"

Li Jie attacked with a sword technique. This was the same technique used by Jun Qing. With Mu Yue's agility, she easily dodged the attack. Mu Yue jumped back away from the impact.

Li Jie then took the opportunity to be on the offensive. Mu Yue's sword skill cannot be utilized if she was on the defensive. She now has a hard time trying to get out of the defensive. They both have the same level in swordsmanship and winning with only using it is close to impossible.

"Rupture Strike"

Li Jie saw this and decided to use his sword technique too.

"Heavy Slash"

The two swords hit each other. The two techniques were supposed to be vertical slashes but they both decided to angle their swords. The slashes became slightly diagonal, which made the swords hit each other.

The swords bounced back from each other and they proceeded to exchange blows, this time on equal advantages.

"Flash Strike"

Li Jie's attack hits Mu Yue successfully. Mu Yue didn't have time to think and decided to use whatever she can to block the attack. This resulted in the attack landing on her arm instead of the sword.

"Rain Strike"

Mu Yue counter attacked. Li Jie only manages the block some of the swords thrusts and the remaining hits his body.

They both sustained almost the same amount of damage.
