My heart thudded the entire way back to the human city. I had never been so anxious to travel. I was continuously peering out of the window of the train, wondering when we would arrive at our destination. I wished that the train would travel faster than it already did.
Sighing, I slumped onto my seat. It was a pity that my kingdom was far away from the human city Natalie lived in. I would have to wait until dawn. That was when the train would arrive at its destination.
I gulped and glanced at my phone. No. I will not call her anymore. It was already late and she must be sleeping. At least that was what I hoped she was doing. I hoped that she was safe and sound in her apartment and not in danger.
My fingers tightened around my phone. Fearing that I might break it, I quickly put it away and started into the darkness of the night through the glass window in my private cabin.
"She is fine," I wheezed, trying to calm myself down.
