The night just seemed so silent, not even the insects were calling to each other. Ever since the
vampires attacked, it was as if the animals had all gone into hiding. Vampires were indiscriminate feeders. They targeted animals like cows, dogs, goats, and horses as well. All warm- blooded animals were fair game for vamps.
I crossed my arms over my chest and inhaled, smelling oncoming rain in the air. I could feel the cold wind on my skin, but it didn't bother me. Werewolves had higher temperatures than humans, so I remained outside to enjoy the quiet night's peacefulness. Nights or moments like this didn't come around often, especially not when you were constantly on the run.
