Shayla waited patiently to hear what Evan had to say. Surely it wasn't that he didn't want to marry her or had changed his mind about a big wedding. She knew better than that. He loved her so deeply, he would do anything to make her happy and that wasn't her being shallow; that was her knowing the facts.
"So, once you're my wife. I figured things would have to change as far as our statuses go."
"Like, a name change, mister and misses? Is that what you mean?" she asked.
"Well, those are kind of givens. In our world though, things are a bit different. After all, I am marrying a woman who is the Alpha of a pack. Don't you think that should change?"
"Like, have Seth take over again? I am confused. Elaborate."
"No, like me become the Alpha and you step down."
