“I can safely say, that is always such a constant worry in my life that I don’t even register it anymore,” he deadpanned.

“And yet, when you were free of worry, you sought out a psychic.”

His amusement faded. “You being gone didn’t make me less worried. It made me terrified it was finally going to be permanent.”

“You should know that nothing can keep me from…here…permanently. I just needed some time to gather my thoughts and get used to being a ghost. You know, stop acting like everything was the same as always.”

It wasn’t like Lucky to be so introspective. That was usually Shane’s domain. He wasn’t entirely sure what to make of it now, except to say, “I’m sorry I said the things I did. The night you left, I mean. You know I don’t think of you like that, right?”
