“Because…” She took the back of his hand and encouraged him to move higher up her leg. “Because I want to, and I want you.” Her lips moved from his and traced the line of his jaw to his neck. Each caress was light but undeniable, and sent fresh shivers down his spine.

His eyes drifted shut. Where his thumbs grazed over the inside of her thighs, Shane traced small circles that kept his hands from shaking too much. Stella nipped at his Adam’s apple, but his buttoned shirt collar kept her from straying too far down. It was just as well. He was pretty sure he’d feel his heart pounding away if she did venture lower. She was already aware of his arousal, because nothing but their clothes hid that from her.

A chuckle escaped him. When Stella lifted her head, probably in confusion, Shane tightened his hands on her.
