CHAPTER 22
Moving onto the next, he kicked his leg and twisted his hand. The man with a rod came next, planning a sneak attack behind him.
The moment the rod was to make its mark on his head, he caught it with his right hand and used it to lift the man off the ground, flinging him to the front to land on the incoming men.
Pow! Pow!
Ahh!
Several shouts were heard as the fighting ensued, with Xander looking untouchable. A cold glint flashed in his eyes, as their colour changed into a dark red, giving him the killing aura.
Jade, who was by the corner watching the fight carry on and could not see the change in his eyes, knew it was better to escape now that Xander was distracted than having to fight her way out of his clutches.
Until now, she didn't know who he was and she doubted he was one of her men that Arctic had sent.
Sneakily, she managed to move quietly, careful for her heels not to make a noise and ran to the direction she came from.
By the time Xander was done, he called out to her, stretching his hands to the side for her to take. His eyes were still fixed on one of the men struggling to get up, so he did not turn to look at her.
After waiting and not getting any response, Xander turned to look at her. He was wondering why she did not place her hand on his or even answer him. 'Is she scared of me?' he thought to himself.
Only for his eyes to land on nothing, just a waste tank and some men sprawled around on the ground.
"Damn it. She escaped, aish! Because of these miscreants."
He moved closer to the man about to get up and kicked him hard on his stomach before running away, hoping he could catch up to her in time.
Some minutes later, Jade hurried down an alley, her head turning left and right, back and front as she increased her speed.
Who asked her to take this alley in a street she knew nothing about. She was already lost as it was. The houses looked alike and the street kept on connecting with one another, confusing her.
'Yes, that should lead to the open road, ha… I am not lost after all,' she thought to herself, a triumphant smile spread across her delicate face as she walked on, happy she would soon be free from this cat and dog chase.
By the time she got to the side of a house, there was a big abandoned container close to its side, just before the bend.
Just when she was ready to take the bend leading out of the street, a hand gripped her wrist hard and pulled her towards a corner of the house where the big container was.
"Ah~" She attempted to scream but the person's other hand clasped her mouth shut, muffling her screams.
"Shh!" the person hushed her and pointed to the road. Her eyes followed his fingers and at the very same minute when he did that, six other men with rods in their hands ran past the street she was on just now, running towards where she was coming from.
Her eyes widened in shock at the danger she would have gotten into had he not intervened. Speaking of which, who was he? She couldn't quite see his face clearly as it was nightfall and where they hid had no light bulbs on, making it the perfect hiding place.
That and coupled with the fact that it was barely enough to fit one person, but now they were two, so the place was cramped.
He slowly removed his hand covering her mouth, making sure she wouldn't be stupid enough to scream and moved his head back, so she could see him from the light seeing in from the street.
It was now she got a closer look at him and knew who he was.
"Is that any way to treat the person who saved you thrice in one night, tigress?"
"I didn't ask for your help. I can handle it myself," Jade protested.
"Really? I wonder what you have done to them, for so many men to be chasing after you right now." His calm cool voice breezed into her ears, sending chills down her spine at how lovely his voice was.
"Not your business. Why do you keep coming after me? Who are you? I do not know you."
She raised her head, so she could look at his eyes to be sure he wasn't going to lie.
A terrible mistake she made as her eyes came in contact with those sexy lips that would capture a girl's heart at once, making her want to kiss it and know how they felt against her lips.
Not that it mattered to her though, if it was a different scenario, perhaps yes, but not now. She didn't know him and he looked dangerous, gorgeously dangerous.
Since he was taller than how he towered over her and when she looked up, his eyes locked with her rose red lips.
His eyes melted a little at the sight that captivated him. Taking his gaze back up, he took in her what he could of her beauty and felt he had been drowned in.
"So pretty."
"Huh?"
The next thing he did, left her wide eyed, blinking uncontrollably, trying to process what was happening.
Xander had leaned in, not being able to handle it anymore and captured her lips with his, the moment she parted her lips to speak, in a sensual, breathtaking kiss, closing his eyes and enjoying the feel of her lips on his.
