Chapter Twenty-Three

I let Trey walk hand and hand with me. His skin touching mine made me ill, I fought the urge to puke. I wanted to hack my hand off and beat him with it but I kept thinking about the bigger picture.

Trey took me to his group. I always saw him with "Guys, this is Indiana." he announced as if they didn't already know.

All at once, I sense eyes on all my bits and pieces. Eying what they liked, what they wanted to take advantage of.

Trey pointed at each one of them "This is Drew, This is Paul, This is Steve. And you already know Justin." he said in a matter-of-factly tone.

I kept looking down trying not to make any contact with them. I looked at Trey. He's already smiling like a dope. Like he just won the biggest prize. All I kept thinking is 'God, I truly hate this man.'

"Trey, I have to get to class but we will talk later," I said. I kissed his cheek and I whispered in his ear "Behave yourself!" Just like I walked away.

I felt all eyes on me, the whole time I walked to class. I almost thought they were all going to follow me like lost little puppies but luckily they didn't.

Jackson's POV

I spent most of the morning calling the agency and local PD. I have no idea what she has planned but I am happy I'm not in those crosshairs.

"Agent Dutton." a voice rang out through the phone.

"Hello? Connie?" I said into the phone as she picked up.

Connie is a big wig in the agency but she is like a sweet grandma who just happens to pack heat.

"Hello, Jackson. I heard you are in need of something" She responded.

I took a deep breath and asked her for an agent. "Connie, they need to know nothing about Indiana. Also, they can't show up here in some car that screams law enforcement." I said.

She laughed. "I think I know the right person for the job and she's close!" She said as a matter of factly.

"Thanks, Connie. Just send her tonight." I semi pleaded.

"Anything for you and Indiana," she said warmly.

I smiled and I was happy she wasn't like Indiana, she would have called me out a long time ago. I hung up the phone. I must be getting that bad habit from Indiana. I gathered all the flyers and placed them in a folder. I have no idea what she wants with this or the agent but I do know she wasn't going to go gentle with them. Now that they found that girl, all bets are off. Local PD sent me the crime scene photos of each of the girls just like she asked for. I am overly worried I guess. I need to make sure I have the fridge stocked because if she does what I think she's going to do. I'd rather not find her on the floor. I must make a list and pick up a cake. She will most likely need the sugar.

Indiana's POV

The day dragged on. I thought it funny when Alex didn't sit by me anymore and flinched when he saw me. All I could do was smile and wave at him.

At lunch, I talked to Grace, Dom, and Nat. Although I was with them I could still feel eyes on my bare skin. I was starting to have that feeling like I forgot to put on clothes. I had to self-soothe myself. I looked down at my phone and saw Jackson had sent me a text "Got what you need. Going to the store."

I took a deep breath as I sent back a simple "ILY Xx". I turned off my phone, which he would know, as soon as my GPS stopped.

At Lunch, we talked about movies that are going to come out. Dom mentioned that his mom saw Jackson. I smiled. As I walked over to dump my tray, I got pulled into a corner. I felt hands all over me. When I looked up it was Trey and Justin.

I looked at Trey. "Is there a reason why I am in this corner?" I asked because I didn't like to be pulled into a corner.

Trey laughed.

Justin was looking out as Trey started kissing me. Each kiss felt like acid on my skin. I stopped him and I looked deep into his eyes.

I said soft and slow that only he could hear me "You are going to let me go. Tonight you will call me for a date."

"Okay, Indiana." I walked right out of his arms pushing past Justin.

I looked into my hand mirror fixing my lipstick while also looking at Trey and Justin.

I let classes finish and I turned my phone back on 15 minutes before class ended. I felt it go off; over and over again. No surprise! 21 messages from Jackson.

I sent him a message "Jackson come pick me up!"

I didn't bother looking for a reply, I knew he would. I caught myself thinking of the incident with Trey and Justin. I was disgusted but I know I needed to keep myself in check. Class let out and I walked to my locker. I slipped on my jacket and touched up my lipstick. I started walking out the door and once again I was grabbed but this time it was just Justin. I looked around to see where Trey was and I noticed he wasn't around.

With no fear in the voice "Do you make a habit of grabbing girls in the middle of the hall." I questioned angrily.

With his devilish smile, he rolled his eyes. "I just want to have a little taste of Trey gets," he said with a venomous tone.

I wanted to spew vomit on him. As he went to kiss me he touched the side of my face. I closed my eyes and I allowed him a bit of fear that poured into me. Then he looked at me and started screaming about snakes. I guess the boy has a fear of snakes. I took a breath and took my mirror out. I fixed my lipstick and straightened myself before I went outside. Justin was on the floor screaming about the snakes that were crawling on him. I stepped over him, while crowds started to gather to see what was wrong. I would wait to tell Jackson what happened until we are at home and where I can help him calm down.

I saw his car out front. I got in and he smiled.

I looked at him "So how much trouble am I for turning off my phone?" I questioned.

He laughed. "Loads, Indiana, Loads!" he said in that cheerful tone.

I rolled my eyes. "Did you get what I asked for this morning?" I questioned.

He nodded. "The agent will be here tonight or maybe before we get home. I said about 4?" He said.

"And Connie knows that this agent can't know what is going to happen right?" I asked.

He laughed and nodded. "I don't even know what you are planning. So I can't even tell Connie what is going to happen." He said.

I looked at him and I told him my plan about how I wanted to break down each guy and feed their fears. "By the time I am done with them. They will wish for death or kill themselves, so they don't have to suffer anymore!" I said with a shrug. "I don't think a quick and easy death would be good for any of them. Maybe we should keep them all locked up in a psych ward."

"Indie? Are you serious?" He questioned.

I laughed, "How fun would it be to visit them, every year." I said with a smile, "Although I already know Justin wouldn't last long." I said thinking of him in the hallway.

I saw his hands grip the steering wheel tightly. I pulled his arm and grabbed his hand. I took a deep breath and focused my happiness on him.

We finally got home and I was so happy to get home.

"I'm going to get out of this dress!" I said as I raced up the stairs.

I saw him nod. Once in my room, I shut the door and dug for some leggings and a sweater. I didn't find what I liked so I walked down the hall and grabbed Jackson's sweater jacket. I zipped it up and started to walk out of his room. I ran straight into him.

"Indiana what are you doing? Is that my jacket?" he questioned.

I rolled my eyes. I notice a smile across his face so I knew he wasn't upset about it. When I sensed him, his feelings were all over the place.

I looked at my watch and we had time. "I wanted to tell you something about school today," I said as if I needed to confess.

I watched his face turn puzzled. "Why didn't you tell me when I picked you up?" He questioned.

I rolled my eyes "Because I know you!" I said with a matter of factly.

So I told him how Trey saw me walking to school, I met his friends, his friends undressed me with their eyes, how at lunch I was pulled into a corner by Trey and Justin, and finally how Justin grabbed me after school and I let a little bit of fear pour out of me. His face turned red and he started pacing back and forth. I grabbed him, I noticed he was fearful.

I touched the side of his face, "Jackson, look at me." I softly said.

He wouldn't, he kept looking down so I walked closer to him grabbing his arms and wrapping them around me.

"Jackson, damn it look at me!"I demanded.

He smiled and looked at me.

"Jackson, I am fine. I was happy it was me and not someone else. Plus Trey is going to ask me out tonight tomorrow. At least that's how I planned it. I am going to take Trey down first then mess with the others. One by one until there is nothing but a rumor about this town's mess. A rumor that I will be glad to spread." I said with a twisted smile.

"Will you please promise me you will be safe?" he asked as if I am made of glass.

"Jackson, the only reason I didn't go all crazy today with them was because of you. I used those self-soothing things that Maggie taught me, you know counting back, remembering good things, keeping myself balanced. At least I know it for sure it worked or the whole town would have gone mad and they might have just brushed it off like Roanoke!" I said with a shrug.

He laughed and just brushed his fingers down the side of my face.

"Although they did find out that Roanoke didn't all disappear, they went and lived amongst the Indgenious." I said remembering the news article that came out.

He smiled and kissed the top of my hair. I am sure he was reminded of the first 6 months after my parents' death. Since the government wanted me well hidden and protected, Maggie and Nolan signed on to protect me. I was so filled with emotions the first couple of nights I filled the house with fears. Maggie of course figured it was me and that's when she started teaching me how to soothe myself.

Jax also helped by reading to me, although when I was younger, Jax wanted to read me pop-up books. Oh and he would read so slow! In the end, it still helps. I didn't focus on my hurt, I focused on the better things.

I took a breath then looked at him. "Jax?" I questioned.

He tilted his head. "Hm?" he answered.

I smiled. "Kiss me please." I pleaded.

He smiled and I felt his eagerness to kiss me. He kissed my forehead, he kissed each of my eyes, he kissed my cheeks and the tip of my nose. Every little kiss sent a blast into my heart. He kissed my chin then he kissed my lips. As he kissed he pulled me closer while he ran his fingers up and down the trail of my back. I think we could have gone on like this if we didn't hear a knock. I smiled and thanked him. He winked and I laughed.

"Go meet her first this way I don't cause her not to listen, "I said as I stood up at the top of the stairs.

Jackson's POV

I open the door. There is standing a small young blond woman wearing frames that aren't suited to her face.

I extend my hand out "Hi, I am Agent Jones but you can call me Jackson." I said firmly.

She smiled and I noticed she was checking me out. It must be my last name, I kept thinking, as I am the son of Maggie and Nolan Jackson.

"Hi, I am Agent Rose Miller. A pleasure to meet you." She said with a very friendly smile.

I ushered her in and asked her to have a seat, "Please, have a seat." I said.

"Now Jackson, can you tell me why I am here? Connie wouldn't let me in on anything she just told me to come over." She said a bit confused.

I looked at her and took a deep breath. "Rose, do you believe in people who have supernatural abilities?" I questioned.

She looked at me and laughed. "Of course not. What do you mean by powers? Like Superman?" she said curiously.

I smiled. "Well, I need you to sign these papers saying that if anything that happens here is to be kept just that. Here!" I said, handing her the papers.

She nodded and signed the papers. I felt my phone go off. New message from Indiana: "Usher her downstairs and place her in the chair." I looked at Rose "Okay Rose this way." I said as we walk towards the basement door.

Indiana's POV

When I heard the basement door shut, I walked downstairs. Once to the basement door, I grabbed the pictures and flyers. I was surprised Jax got everything than some of these girls. The crime pictures were horrific. I had to take a deep breath to hold myself in. I took a deep breath in and remembered the moment before the agent came. I felt each kiss on me, then I felt that warm buzz cross my body. I grabbed the doorknob and walked downstairs with a smile on my face. Jackson looked at me and smiled. I had a chance to put a tank top on before going down to the basement.

"Agent Miller, this is Indiana." Jackson introduced me.

I walked over standing in front of her. I extend my hand out to her. I sent out warm feelings as I was still feeling that happy buzz from Jax.

"Hello, Agent Miller." I greeted.

She looked at me and a smile crossed her face then her eyes started glazing over.

I decided to use the honey tones "Agent Miller do you know why you are here?" I questioned.

She nodded and I was a bit startled. I looked at Jax and he shook his head.

"Agent Miller, why are you here?" I questioned once again.

She looked at me as if she was about to worship me. Then she opened her mouth and weakly said "To help you."

I took a deep breath and smiled. "Agent Miller, I am very sorry!" I said it was almost an apology.

This puzzled her happy expression. I touched her happy expression face, I let her feel the buzz of happiness I felt. She looked as if she was on the verge of an overdose. Then allowed the fear to leak out. Her face started to show panic. Then she kept trying to push off whatever she was seeing. The night continued like that. I started to feel a little sick but I kept on. I took a glimpse at Jackson who looked fearful but not for Agent Miller but for myself. By the end of the night Agent Miller was screaming and shaking.

I grabbed her hand one more time and I looked her in the eyes. "Agent Miller everything is fine. You are fine." I said warmly, and friendly.

She smiled at me, "I am fine." she said with a wide smile.

I walked over to Jackson, "Untie her. Make sure she really is fine." I said.

He nodded and grabbed my arm as I started to walk away. "Indie, are you okay?" he questioned.

I looked pale and a bit sweaty but I was fine. I nodded and walked upstairs. I grabbed a soda from the fridge and walked to my room. The cold drink felt amazing down my throat. I decided to take a hot bath. I started by taking my tank top off leaving a trail of clothes to my bathroom. I filled the tub and climbed into the bathtub. I leaned back and closed my eyes.
