Chapter Two Hundred and Seven - After the Fall

Instead of remaining in my office, I left Gerard in the office explaining what I was going to be doing, in the kitchen.

I started by selecting the files from nanny Pierce by date of visits.

Finding the first one before I was finish sorting out all of it, I give in to the temptation and started reading from the first page of my very first visit to the therapist.

Persons in attendant for my first visit, were, Allan Sullivan, Ameila Knights, Mrs. Pierce and Mr. Carlton Knox.

Uncle Allan?

Everyone give their views and their disturbance over my mental state, according to the report in front of me and they all agreed on one thing and one thing only, 'HAILEY MELISSA SULLIVAN' is a trouble child, who saw her father murder her mother right in front of her and is presently acting out on what she has done to her father.

What I did to my father?

What did I do to my father?

What are they talking about? Daddy didn't kill mommy?

Ameila Knights did! Ameila Knights pushed mommy down the stairs.

Closing the file, I started pondering on what I just read.

Uncle Allan and Mr. Knox were all in on declaring me mentally challenge?

I pressed my hands to my chest when I couldn't breathe and toppled over, causing my stomach to start cramping. My eyes widening in shock, which was the last thing I remembered.

My eyes fluttered open for a brief moment, but I shut them again, too tired. I'm so tired, I just wanted to sleep some more, just a little bit more.

When next I finally opened my eyes, the room was dim and I felt confined to the small bed which doesn't feel normal for me.

Taking a deep breath, "Adian?" I whispered to the shadow up against the wall in the room.

Two shadows moved quickly towards me.

"Hailey?" I heard Mel's voice first. "Oh my God, you're awake" she says observantly, her voice panicking.

"Call Adian quick," she continues, instructing someone whose still behind her in the shadows.

"What happened?" I asked, fighting to remember my last thought, before waking up here.

Forcing my eyes open wider, I strain to see clearly as I look around.

"Why am I in the hospital?" I ask, facing a worried Mel, "I want to go home," I tell her, "please, take me home to Aidian.' I pleaded.

Smiling she sits on my bed an pushes the loose strands of hair from my face, "he just went home for a shower and to check on Emmy, he'll be right back." Mel says gently, as if she's speaking to a child.

Nodding, I closed my eyes for a moment.

"Would you like some water?" She asks softly and I nod, trying to sit up.

Chuckling, "no lie back" she instructs, "I have a flexible straw." She said, "open up," she places the tip of the straw on my parted lips.

Slurping up a few sips, I gently pushed the cup away and closed my eyes again.

Resting my hand on my tummy with my eyes closed, "is my baby okay?" I mummer and Mel didn't answer me, as I remember some cramps.

"Yes everything is fine, once you rest and take care," Mel coos gently.

I tried sitting up again, "no, Hailey just rest. Adian's on his way and Basil went to call the doctor." Mel instructs me, her voice cracking up.

Despite the words coming out of Mel's mouth, she is very anxious.

"What are you hiding from me?" I question her, raising my eyebrows at her curiously.

Shaking her head, "nothing Hailey, I was so worried." She sighs heavily, "we all were and Adian was so angry that the only reason he hasn't fired Gerard for taking you back to the office is because he knows, you will rehire Gerard and blame Adian for it." Mel laughs nervously.

That sounds like me, but I am still weary about Mel's explanantion.

"So the sleeping beauty is finally awake," a middle aged man dressed in a white doctors coat, strolled briskly into the room and towards my bed. He turns up the light, illuminating the room.

Basil moved to stand awkwardly behind Mel, his eyes dark and as usual unreadable.

There's something more happening here and they are not saying what happened.

"Let me just examine you here for few minutes, until your husband returns." The doctor pulled his stethoscope from around his neck and started his external examination.

"My baby, how's my baby?" I stared up anxiously at the doctor who was busy pumping my arms for a pressure reading.

The doctors smiles at my pressure results, then lifts his eyes to Basil. "Are you expecting Mr. Knights anytime soon," he enquired and Basil looks towards the doorway, then back to the doctor.

"He's suppose to be on his way back already." Basil mummer, but he was definitely worried.

Looking away from Basil, moving my eyes unto my tummy.

"Is my baby okay?" I asked a bit louder this time with a harsher tone, my eyes still lowered on my tummy.

The doctor touches my arm gently, "let's just wait for Mr. Knights to get here and we will talk." The doctor suggests gently but I yanked my arm away, angrily.

"I am over twenty one," I yelled. "Just tell me," I continued the tone of my voice getting softer. "Did I lose my baby?" I sobbed, "I remember when I fell and the cramps" I started sobbing much more intensely.

Suddenly I was being hugged from behind, by a strong pair of arms.

Adian!

I instantly spun around, "I'm sorry," I cried into his arms that just held me tighter. "Please forgive me, please. I'm so sorry." I kept crying to my husband, who just continued hugging me tighter and tighter.

"All isn't lost Hailey, we haven't lost everything," Adian says softly, kissing my head, roaming his hand through my messy hair.

I know this is a topic no one like to deal with, but it happened.
