Chapter Two Hundred and Fifty Six - Names Revealed

"Don't hurt my daddy, please!" Clasping her hand together prayerfully, Hailey pleads with the guards who held her father.

Standing up I grabbed ahold of Hailey, pulling her back against my chest, wrapping my arms around her stomach, as she sobs.

I felt her jump against me as the Judge slams his hammer on his desk.

"We'll take a fifteen minute recess," Judge Roberts said, "counsellors, I'll see you in my office," he added, his eyes moving between Gussippie and the prosecutor, before standing up and abruptly leaving the courtroom.

Pulling out of my arms, Hailey rushed towards her father as only one guard held him now and the other went to assist Dr. Jenkins off the witness stand.

Hailey hugs her father, sobbing against his chest. I watch the security release his hold on David, allowing him to wrap his arms around her back and waist, as she rests her head against his chest.

With tears in my eyes, I moved to walk away, shocked to see my father sitting beside Basil in the back row, wiping his eyes.

Looking back at Hailey one more time, I joined my father and best friend to walk out into the corridor.

"Your mother really f**ked up man," was the first words to escape dad's mouth, while sweeping his hands over his face in frustration.

I was still shocked to hear mom intentionally tried to hurt Hailey by interfering with her reproductive system.

"She's responsible for the death of our baby," I whispered, fighting the urge to scream and punch something.

Pulling me against his shoulders, "I'm so sorry son. I'm so sorry for your loss and most of all for all that Hailey have silently suffered over the years." Dad continues, while I sobbed silently on my father's shoulder, as we hugged each other tightly.

Realizing this is a game changer for me, "I'll never forgive her for this," I whispered, mentally planning her destruction.

If Amelia Knights isn't imprisoned, I vow to make her life a living hell that she would crave the confines of prison instead of the freedom in a world I breathe in.

"Guys, Gussippie's back in," Bas says from behind us, where he was peering into the courtroom.

Slapping my shoulder affectionately, dad and I ventured into the courtroom to see Hailey still standing with her dad but they are talking now.

I notice David nodding at me before Hailey spun around, a huge smile breaking out on her face, emphasising her dimples, giving me a relief look

Turning back, she hugs and pecks her dad's cheeks before joining me in the seat we previously occupied with dad and Bas sitting directly behind us.

"ALL RISE!" The court clerk yells, to get our attention before introducing Judge Roberts into the courtroom.

Gussippie approached the witness stand where Dr. Jenkins had taken her seat again.

"Dr. Jenkins, I would like to remind you that, you're still under oath." Judge Roberts informs Dr. Jenkins with a calm tone and expression.

"Yes sir," Dr. Jenkins responded politely, her hands clasped tightly on her lap.

"I am also obligated to inform you, that your actions in the treatment of the minor Hailey Sullivan goes against the medical practice and after this hearing, an investigation will be held in your practice. Your cooperation in this trial could work for you or against you." Judge Roberts warned the nervous looking therapist.

Nodding at Judge Roberts, "yes your honor," Dr. Jenkins responded with a calm, in spite of wringing her hands that laid on her lap.

Judge Roberts give a slight nod, encouraging Gussippie to continue questioning the witness.

"Who is the Guardian that dictated the treatment and medication applied to the minor, Hailey Sullivan?" Gussippie asks politely, getting directly to the point.

Hailey's head jerked up at Gussippie's question, her eyes now fixated on her former therapist.

Biting her lips, Dr. Jenkins lowered her eyes, staring at the hands she continued ringing on her lap.

When she didn't answer, Gussippie repeated his question, averting his eyes from Dr. Jenkins to Judge Roberts.

"Amelia Knights," Dr. Jenkins whispered but her voice still rang out through the empty courtroom, loud enough for everyone to hear.

Hailey and I held each other's hands tightly but I didn't feel any pain.

"What was the other guardian, Alan Sullivan's part in all of this?" Gussippie continued.

Frowning, Dr. Jenkins shook her head, "Alan Sullivan only attended the first visit willingly but was not actively involved in Hailey Sullivan's therapy sessions." Dr. Jenkins revealed to an already tensed courtroom.

Lifting a file, Gussippie waves it at Dr. Jenkins. "I read what you wrote in your report after Ms. Sullivan's first three visits to your office." Gussippie pauses. "What I need to hear in your own words, is," Gussippie pauses again. "What were your actual findings and why didn't the minor, Hailey Sullivan live with any of her guardians?" Folding his arms, Gussippie waits for her response.

Adjusting herself in the witness chair, Dr. Jenkins took a deep breath.

"The child, Hailey Sullivan was displaying uncontrollable tantrums in the presence of Amelia Knights and Alan Sullivan indicated he couldn't keep her in his care permanently." Dr. Jenkins explained.

Lifting her eyes, Dr Jenkins gives Hailey a bland look, "Ms. Sullivan, only displayed tantrums in the presence of Amelia Knights and no one else." Dr. Jenkins continued. "I suggested a nanny instead of sending her to a mental Institute as Amelia Knights suggested. She agreed and brought in Mrs. Pierce who remained with Hailey Sullivan from the age of five, until her marriage." Dr. Jenkins concluded, looking downwards at her hands once again.

Gussippie wasn't done though, "did Hailey Sullivan ever mention, seeing her mother being pushed down the stairs the afternoon she died?" Gussippie ask and Dr. Jenkins looked at him in surprise, glancing quickly at the prosecutor, who simply slumped lower in his chair.

Dr. Jenkins glance nervously at Judge Roberts.

"Just answer the question," he instructed.
