Chapter Sixty Six - Birthmarks

Hailey's POV

They came for me, he came for me. Do I have finally have what I've always wanted? A family to call my very own.

The Knights are my family now even though I have questions about Mrs. Amelia Knights. The aunty my father wanted me to remain with while he was gone.

I need to remember where I was when my father left me screaming as Alan Smith held me back. Who is uncle Alan to me, that my father wanted me to remain with him.

Adana, was in the bathroom, taking as she claims, a long deserve shower after being on the road for almost twenty four hours.

"Hailey" I heard, Adana walk back into the bedroom wrapped in a towel with her hair dripping wet. "I can't find another towel for my hair" she complains, with a pout.

Luckily, I packed two small towels in my bag, so I crawled out of bed, and started digging through my clothes, pulling out a red towel.

"Here" I said walking to Adana, stopping short when I see a birthmark on her leg, about five inches above her right knee.

Frowning, I have the same one in the same exact spot. A reddish, pinkish, flame, I thought.

Confused, I stood beside her, "come" I said pulling her towards the chair, in front of the dresser. She sat down and I started drying her hair which is so much like her brother.

I couldn't contain my curiosity, "you want to see something that's rather weird?" I ask.

Adana chuckles, "I'm the weird one in the family. so yeah" she laughs, as I towel her hair dry.

I pondered even though I want to tell her, then deciding to show her instead. "look!" I said, twisting my leg to show the same identical birthmark on my leg.

She got off the chair, chuckling, as she pulled me towards the long mirror beside the closet. We turned our legs looking at our identical birthmarks.

"We need to get a picture of this" Adana says running to the bathroom, returning with her phone in hand.

I look at her head, "only the legs, right?" I ask, making sure my face was not in the picture. I don't have any social media account because I'm self conscious about putting myself out there.

She laughs at my expression, "my brother will throttle me if I put your picture on Instagram" She admits. "I hope he has no problems with your leg"

Is it normal for two persons to have the same identical birthmark in the same identical place? I wonder, promising myself to google it.

"Come on, she pulls me towards the mirror, ready with her iphone, for a selfie. Angling her phone, she took four shots of our thighs.

Choosing one she does whatever she has to do, before shouting, "sisters for life", wait, what?. I tried to stop her.

"Wait don't send it" I said frantic.

"Oops, sorry it's gone" she says apologetically.

"Can I see it?" I asked curiously.

She opens the phone, showing me the post, SISTERS FOR LIFE was the caption she used.

Nervous and afraid now, "does Adian follow you on Instagram" I wonder out aloud.

"No, but I think Basil does," she said slowly, watching his comments, which was four question marks.

"Uh, maybe you should take it down" as her phone started to constantly ping.

Before she could answer or consider my suggestion, the bedroom door flung open, "take that f**king picture down now!" Adian shouts, charging towards Adana.

I've never seen the look on Adana's face that I now see. FEAR!

swiping the phone from her hand that she didn't even hesitate to give him, "go and dress, now" Adian instructed, pointing towards the bathroom.

She towards the bathroom, wrapped in towels, muttering, incoherently, slamming the door behind her.

Adian then turn his attention back to me, before punching up a storm on Adana's phone.

I look to Basil who was staring at me thoughtfully.

I raised my eyebrows with a questioning expression, but he just shrugs before focusing on his phone, ignoring me.

Adian, raised his eyes from the phone, before flinging it on the bed. I watch it bounce, nervous now to look at him.

"Did you.." Adian starts before he was interrupted.

"Wrong move man, wrong move" I heard Basil said.

I look to see his attention only on Adian, before Adian turns to him. I see Basil shaking his head, going to sit on the empty chair Adana just vacated.

Just as Adana came out the bathroom, towel dried and neatly groomed. The redness in her eyes was all the evidence we needed to know she was crying.

"Chubbs," Adian started, when there was a knock on the door.

Adian, walked to the still tensed by the stiffness of his shoulders.

"Mr Storm, I'm just here to inform you that dinner is ready" Mr. Bradford says, smiling at Adian.

Mr Storm? But this clearly was not the time to comment on that.

"We'll be right down," Adian smiles, nodding before shutting the door, after Mr Bradford leaves.

The room was still tense and I wonder why did Adian react to the post the way that he did? And why did Basil show it to him?

Turning his attention back to me, "maybe you'll like to change your clothes, before we head down for dinner" Adian says in a lighter tone.

Darn you Adian Knights! Lifting my head high, I walked to the closet, taking my handbag and hung it in my shoulder, walling towards the door.

"F**k" I heard him mutter, as I open the door, looking at the three other occupants in the room.

"I'm hungry" I turn to Adana, whose running to the bed, picking up her phone, before following me outside as we stood waiting for the guys.

Adian came out watching us standing in the corridor, looks back at Basil, before storming off ahead of us!
